1 Faarfannaa Daawit. Laftii fi wanni lafa irra jiru hundinuu, addunyaa fi wanni ishee keessa jiraatu hundinuus kan Waaqayyoo ti;
The earth is Adonai’s, with its fullness; the world, and those who dwell therein.
2 inni galaanota irratti ishee hundeesseeraatii; bishaan irras ishee dhaabeera.
For he has founded it on the seas, and established it on the floods.
3 Eenyutu tulluu Waaqayyootti ol baʼa? Iddoo isaa qulqulluu sanas eenyutu dhaabata?
Who may ascend to Adonai’s hill? Who may stand in his holy place?
4 Nama harka qulqulluu fi garaa qulqulluu qabu, nama lubbuu isaa gara waaqa tolfamaatti ol hin kaafne yookaan nama sobaan hin kakannee dha.
He who has clean hands and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood, and has not sworn deceitfully.
5 Inni Waaqayyo biraa eebba, Waaqa Fayyisaa isaa biraa immoo qajeelummaa ni argata.
He shall receive a blessing from Adonai, righteousness from the God of his yesha' ·salvation·.
6 Dhaloonni kun dhaloota warra isa barbaadanii ti; kan dhaloota warra fuula Waaqa Yaaqoob barbaadanii ti.
This is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek your face— even Jacob [Supplanter]. (Selah) ·contemplation with musical interlude·.
7 Yaa karroota nana, mataa keessan ol qabadhaa; isinis balbalawwan durii, akka mootiin ulfinaa ol galuuf ol qabamaa.
Lift up your heads, you gates! Be lifted up, you everlasting doors, and the Melek haKavod [King of Weighty glory] will come in.
8 Mootiin ulfinaa kun eenyu? Waaqayyo jabaa fi humna qabeessa, Waaqayyo isa waraana keessattis humna qabu sanaa dha.
Who is the Melek haKavod [King of Weighty glory]? Adonai strong and mighty, Adonai mighty in battle.
9 Yaa karroota nana, mataa keessan ol qabadhaa; isinis balbalawwan durii akka mootiin ulfinaa ol galuuf mataa keessan ol qabadhaa.
Lift up your heads, you gates; yes, lift them up, you everlasting doors, and the Melek haKavod [King of Weighty glory] will come in.
10 Mootiin ulfinaa kun eenyu? Waaqayyoon Waan Hunda Dandaʼu sun, inni Mootii ulfinaa ti.
