Faarfannaa 22
1 Dura Buʼaa Faarfattootaatiif. Yeedaloo “Borofa Ganamaa” jedhu. Faarfannaa Daawit. Yaa Waaqa ko, yaa Waaqa ko, ati maaliif na dhiifte? Ati na gargaaruu irraa, iyya koo irraas maaliif akkas fagaatta?
“To the chief musician upon Ayeleth-hashachar, a psalm of David.” My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from saving me, and from the words of my loud complaint?
2 Yaa Waaqa ko, ani guyyaa guyyaa sittin iyyadha; ati garuu deebii naaf hin deebiftu; halkan halkanis afaan hin qabadhu.
O my God! I call in the day-time, but thou answerest not; and in the night I find no rest.
3 Ati garuu Qulqullicha teessoo irra taaʼuu dha; ati galata Israaʼel.
But thou art holy, O thou that dwellest amidst the praises of Israel.
4 Abbootiin keenya si amanatan; isaan si amanatan; atis isaan oolchite.
In thee did our fathers trust: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
5 Isaan sitti iyyatan; ni fayyifamanis; si amanatan; hin qaanofnes.
Unto thee they cried, and were delivered: in thee they trusted, and were not put to shame.
6 Ani garuu raammoodha malee nama miti; ani nama namni itti qoosuu fi sabnis tuffatuu dha.
But I am a worm, and not a man, a reproach of men, and despised of people.
7 Warri na argan hundinuu natti kolfu; mataa isaanii raasanii na arrabsu.
All those who see me laugh me to scorn: they draw open their lips, they shake their head, [saying, ]
8 Akkanas jedhu; “Inni Waaqayyoon amanata; mee Waaqayyo isa haa oolchu kaa. Inni waan isatti gammaduuf, isa haa oolchu.”
“Let him throw himself on the Lord, that he may deliver him: he will save him, for he delighteth in him.”
9 Ati garuu gadameessa keessaa na baafte; harma haadha koo irrattis, situ nagaan na eege.
Yea, thou art he that took me from the womb: thou hast been my trust when I hung on my mother's breasts.
10 Ani gaafan dhaladhee jalqabee sirratti nan gatame; erga haati koo na deessee jalqabdee ati Waaqa koo ti.
Upon thee was I cast from my birth: from my mother's womb art thou my God.
11 Ati narraa hin fagaatin; rakkinni dhiʼaateeraatii; namni na gargaarus hin jiru.
Oh be not far from me [now]; for distress is near; for there is none to help.
12 Korommiin baayʼeen na marsu; korommiin Baashaan jajjaboonis karaa hundumaan na marsu.
Many steers have encompassed me: the strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.
13 Isaanis akka leenca beelaʼee aaduu afaan isaanii balʼisanii natti banatu.
They have opened wide against me their mouth, [as] a ravenous and roaring lion.
14 Ani akkuma bishaaniitti nan dhangalaafame; lafeen koo hundinuus wal gad dhiise. Onneen koo gara gagaatti geeddarame; na keessattis baqe.
Like water am I poured out, and all my bones are disjointed: my heart is become like wax, it is melted in the midst of my entrails.
15 Jabinni koo akka qiraacii goge; arrabni koo laagaatti na maxxane; awwaara duʼaa keessas na ciibsite.
Like a potsherd is my strength dried up; and my tongue cleaveth to my palate; and into the dust of death hast thou laid me down.
16 Saroonni na marsaniiru; gareen namoota hamoo na marseera; isaanis harkaa fi miilla koo waraananii fullaasaniiru.
For dogs have encompassed me; the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: like lions [they threaten] my hands and my feet.
17 Ani lafee koo hunda lakkaaʼuu nan dandaʼa; isaanis ija babaasanii na ilaalu; akkas taʼuu koottis ni gammadu.
I may number all my bones: [while] they stare and look upon me.
18 Isaan wayyaa koo hiratan; uffata koottis ixaa buufatan.
They divide my clothes among themselves, and for my garment do they cast lots.
19 Yaa Waaqayyo, ati garuu narraa hin fagaatin; yaa Jabina koo na gargaaruuf ariifadhu.
But thou, O Lord, be not far from me: O [thou who art] my strength, hasten to my aid.
20 Lubbuu koo goraadee jalaa, jireenya koo immoo humna sarootaa jalaa baasi.
Deliver from the sword my life, from the power of the dog my solitary soul.
21 Afaan leencaa jalaa na miliqsi; gaanfa gafarsaa jalaas na baasi.
Save me from the lion's mouth; as thou hast answered me from the horns of the reem.
22 Maqaa kee obboloota kootti nan labsa; waldaa keessattis sin jajadha.
I will relate thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.
23 Isin warri Waaqayyoon sodaattan isa jajadhaa! Isin sanyiin Yaaqoob hundinuu isa ulfeessaa! Sanyiin Israaʼel hundinuus isa sodaadhaa!
Ye that fear the Lord, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and be in dread of him, all ye the seed of Israel.
24 Inni dhiphina nama dhiphatee hin tuffanne yookaan hin balfineetii; yommuu inni gargaarsaaf isatti iyyatettis, ni dhagaʼeef malee fuula isaa hin dhokfanne.
For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the poor; neither hath he hidden his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.
25 Galanni ani yaaʼii guddaa irratti siif galchu si biraa dhufa; warra si sodaatan durattis wareega koo of irraa nan baasa.
Of thee shall be my praise in a great assembly: my vows will I pay in the presence of those who fear him.
26 Hiyyeeyyiin nyaatanii quufu; warri Waaqayyoon barbaaddatanis isa ni jajatu; garaan keessan bara baraan haa jiraatu!
The meek shall eat and be satisfied; they who seek him shall praise the Lord: may your heart live for ever.
27 Handaarri lafaa hundinuu ni yaadata; gara Waaqayyoottis ni deebiʼa; maatiiwwan sabootaa hundinuus fuula isaa duratti ni sagadu;
All the ends of the world shall remember and return unto the Lord: and all the families of the nations shall bow themselves down before thee.
28 mootummaan kan Waaqayyootii; innis saboota hunda ni bulcha.
For the kingdom is the Lord's, and he governeth the nations.
29 Sooreyyiin lafaa hundinuu ni nyaatu; ni waaqeffatus; warri of jiraachisuu hin dandeenye kanneen biyyoo seenan hundi fuula isaa duratti ni jilbeenfatu.
All they that eat the fat of the earth shall bow themselves down; before him shall bend the knee all that are going down into the dust; for none can keep alive his own soul.
30 Dhaloonni dhufu isa tajaajila; dhaloota boriittis waaʼeen Gooftaa ni himama.
Distant ages shall serve him; there shall be related of the Lord unto future generations.
31 Sababii inni waan kana hojjeteef, isaan saba dhalachuuf jirutti qajeelummaa isaa ni labsu.
They will come, and will tell his righteousness unto a people yet unborn, that he hath done this.
