< Faarfannaa 18 >
1 Dura Buʼaa Faarfattootaatiif. Faarfannaa Daawit garbicha Waaqayyoo; innis yommuu Waaqayyo harka diinota isaa hundaa fi harka Saaʼol jalaa isa baasetti dubbii faarfannaa kana Waaqayyoof faarfate. Innis akkana jedhe: Yaa Waaqayyo jabina ko, ani sin jaalladha.
To the music director. A psalm of David the servant of the Lord, who sang the words of this song to the Lord on the day when the Lord saved him from all his enemies, and from Saul. He sang: I love you, Lord. You are my strength.
2 Waaqayyo kattaa koo, daʼannoo kootii fi oolchaa koo ti; Waaqni koo kattaa koo kan ani kooluu itti galuu dha; inni gaachana kootii fi gaanfa fayyina koo ti; daʼannoo koo cimaa dha.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my Savior. He is my God, my rock who protects me. He shields me from harm, his power protects me, he keeps me safe.
3 Ani Waaqayyo galanni isaaf malu sana nan waammadha; diinota koo jalaas nan baraarama.
I call for help from the Lord who should be praised, and he saves me from those who hate me.
4 Funyoon duʼaa na xaxe; lolaan badiisaas na liqimseera.
Ropes of death encircled me, surging waters of destruction flooded over me;
5 Funyoon siiʼool natti marame; kiyyoon duʼaas natti dhufe. (Sheol )
The grave wound its ropes around me; death set snares for me. (Sheol )
6 Ani dhiphina koo keessatti Waaqayyoon nan waammadhe; gargaarsaafis Waaqa kootti nan iyyadhe. Innis mana qulqullummaa isaatii sagalee koo dhagaʼe; iyyi koos gurra isaa seene.
In my despair I called on the Lord—I cried out to my God for help. He heard my voice from his Temple—my cry for help reached his ears.
7 Lafti ni hollatte; ni sochootes; hundeewwan tulluuwwaniis ni raafaman; sababii inni dheekkameefis isaan ni hollatan.
The earth shook to and fro; the foundations of the mountains trembled, shaking because of his anger.
8 Aarri funyaan isaatii ol baʼe; ibiddi waa barbadeessu afaan isaatii baʼe; cileen bobaʼus afaan isaatii baʼe.
Smoke came out of his nostrils, and fire came from his mouth; burning coals blazed before him.
9 Inni samiiwwan tarsaasee gad buʼe; duumessoonni gurraachis miilla isaa jala turan.
He parted the heavens and came down, with dark clouds beneath his feet.
10 Inni kiirubeelin yaabbatee barrise; qoochoo qilleensaatiinis ol baʼe.
Riding on an angel he flew, swooping on the wings of the wind.
11 Inni dukkana haguuggii isaa, duumessa samii kan bokkaadhaan dukkanaaʼe immoo godoo isaa godhate.
He hid himself in darkness, covering himself with black thunderclouds.
12 Ifa fuula isaa keessaas duumessi dhagaa cabbiitii fi bakakkaadhaan tarsaasee baʼe.
Hailstones and burning coals flew out from his brightness, passing through his thick clouds.
13 Waaqayyo samiidhaa ni qaqawweessaʼe; sagaleen Waaqa Waan Hundaa Oliis ni dhagaʼame.
The Lord thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High sounded among the hailstones and burning coals.
14 Inni xiyya isaa darbatee diinota bittinneesse; bakakkaas gad dhiisee isaan fixe.
He fired his arrows, scattering his enemies; he routed them with his lightning bolts.
15 Yaa Waaqayyo, dheekkamsa keetiin, humna hafuura funyaan keetii baʼuutiinis, sululawwan galaanaa ifatti baafaman; hundeewwan lafaas qullaa hafan.
You roared, Lord, and by the wind from the breath of your nostrils the valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth were uncovered.
16 Inni ol gubbaadhaa gad hiixatee na qabe; bishaanota gad fagoo keessaas na baase.
He reached down his hand from above and grabbed hold of me. He pulled me out of the deep water.
17 Inni diina koo isa jabaa jalaa, amajaajota koo warra akka malee natti ciman jalaas na baase.
He rescued me from my powerful enemies, from those who hated me and who were much stronger than me.
18 Isaan guyyaa rakkina kootti natti dhufan; Waaqayyo garuu gargaarsa koo ture.
They came at me at my worst possible moment, but the Lord supported me.
19 Inni iddoo balʼaatti na baase; waan natti gammadeefis na oolche.
He set me free, he rescued me because he's my friend.
20 Waaqayyo akkuma qajeelummaa kootiitti naa kenneera; akkuma qulqullina harka koottis na badhaase.
The Lord rewarded me because I do what's right; he repaid me because I am innocent.
21 Ani karaa Waaqayyoo eegeeraatii; Waaqa koo irraa garagalee hammina hin hojjenne.
For I have followed the Lord's ways; I have not sinned by turning away from my God.
22 Seerri isaa hundinuu fuula koo dura jira; anis labsii isaa irraa hin gorre.
I have kept all his laws in mind; I have not ignored his commandments.
23 Ani fuula isaa duratti mudaa hin qabu ture; cubbuu irraas of eeggadheera.
I am blameless in his sight; I keep myself from sinning.
24 Waaqayyo akkuma qajeelumma kootti, akkuma harki koo fuula isaa duratti qulqulluu taʼettis na badhaaseera.
The Lord rewarded me for doing what's right. I am innocent in his sight.
25 Ati nama amanamaatti amanamummaa kee argisiifta; nama mudaa hin qabnettis kan mudaa hin qabne taata.
You show trust to those who trust; you show integrity to those with integrity,
26 Nama qulqulluutti qulqulluu taata; nama jalʼaatti immoo jalʼaa taata.
You show yourself pure to those who are pure, but you show yourself smart to those who are crafty.
27 Ati warra gad of qaban ni oolchita; ija of tuulu garuu gad deebifta.
You save the humble, but you bring down the proud.
28 Yaa Waaqayyo ati ibsaa koo jabeessitee ni ibsita; Waaqni koo dukkana koo ifatti ni geeddara.
You light my lamp! Lord, my God, you light up my darkness!
29 Ani gargaarsa keetiin loltoota dhiibbadhee nan deema; Waaqa kootiinis dallaa utaaluu nan dandaʼa.
With you, I can charge down a troop of soldiers; with you, my God, I can climb a fortress wall.
30 Waaqa kana karaan isaa mudaa hin qabu; dubbiin Waaqayyoo hirʼina hin qabu; warra isatti kooluu galan hundaaf Waaqayyo gaachana taʼa.
God's way is absolutely right. What the Lord says is trustworthy. He is a shield to all who come to him for protection.
31 Waaqayyo malee Waaqni eenyu? Waaqa keenya malees kattaan eenyu?
For who is God except the Lord? Who is the rock, except our God?
32 Kan humna na hidhachiisu, kan akka karaan koos nagaa taʼu godhu Waaqa.
God makes me strong and keeps me safe.
33 Inni miilla koo akka miilla borofaa godha; iddoo ol dheeraa irras na dhaabachiisa.
He makes me surefooted like the deer, able to walk the heights in safety.
34 Inni harka koo waraanaaf leenjisa; irreen koos iddaa naasii dabsuu ni dandaʼa.
He teaches me how to fight in battle; he gives me the strength to draw a bronze bow.
35 Ati gargaarsa kee kan nama fayyisu gaachana naaf goota; harki kee mirgaa ol na qabeera; gargaarsi kees nama guddaa na godhe.
You protect me with the shield of your salvation; you support me with your powerful right hand; your help has made me great.
36 Akka koomeen koo hin mucucaanneef, miilla kootiif daandii balʼifteerta.
You gave me space in which to walk, and prevented my feet from slipping.
37 Ani diinota koo ariʼee nan qaqqabadhe; hamma isaan barbadaaʼanittis ani duubatti hin deebine.
I chased my enemies, and caught up with them. I did not turn around until I had destroyed them.
38 Ani akka isaan deebiʼanii kaʼuu hin dandeenyeef isaan nan barbadeesse; isaanis miilla koo jalatti ni kufan.
I struck them down—they couldn't get up. They fell at my feet.
39 Ati lolaaf humna na hidhachiifte; amajaajota koos fuula koo duratti gad deebifte.
You made me strong for battle; you made those who rose up against me kneel down before me.
40 Akka diinonni koo dugda duubatti deebiʼanii baqatan gooteerta; anis amajaajota koo barbadeesseera.
You made my enemies run away; I destroyed all my enemies.
41 Isaan gargaarsaaf iyyan; garuu kan isaan oolchu tokko iyyuu hin turre; gara Waaqayyoottis ni iyyatan; inni garuu deebii hin kennineef.
They cried out for help, but no one came to rescue them. They even called out to the Lord, but he did not answer them.
42 Anis akkuma awwaara bubbeen fudhatuutti isaan nan daake; akkuma dhoqqee daandii irraatti isaan nan dhidhiite.
I ground them into dust, like dust in the wind. I threw them out like mud in the street.
43 Ati lola namootaa jalaa na baafteerta; mataa sabootaa na gooteerta; sabni ani hin beekne na tajaajila.
You rescued me from rebellious people; you made me ruler over nations—people I didn't know now serve me.
44 Namoonni ormaa na sossobatan; isaan akkuma waaʼee koo dhagaʼaniin naaf ajajaman.
As soon as they hear of me, they obey; foreigners cringe before me.
45 Isaan hundi abdii kutatan; hollachaas daʼannoo isaanii jabaa keessaa baʼan.
They lose heart, and come trembling in surrender from their strongholds.
46 Waaqayyo jiraataa dha! Kattaan koo haa eebbifamu! Waaqni Fayyisaan koo ol ol haa jedhu!
The Lord lives! Blessed be my rock! May the God who saves me be praised!
47 Inni Waaqa haaloo naa baasu, kan sabootas na jalatti bulchuu dha;
God avenges me, he subdues peoples under me,
48 diinota koo jalaas na baasa. Ati amajaajota kootii ol na goota; gooltota jalaas na baafte.
he rescues me from those who hate me. You keep me safe from those who rebel against me, you save me from violent men.
49 Kanaafuu yaa Waaqayyo, ani saboota gidduutti sin leellisa; faarfannaa galataa illee maqaa keetiif nan faarfadha.
That's why I will praise you among the nations, Lord; I will sing praises about who you are.
50 Inni moʼannaawwan gurguddaa mootii isaatiif ni kenna; dibamaa isaa Daawitii fi sanyii isaatiif, jaalala bara baraa ni argisiisa.
You have saved the king so often, showing your trustworthy love to David, your anointed, and to his descendants forever.
