Faarfannaa 141
1 Faarfannaa Daawit. Yaa Waaqayyo, ani sin waammadha; dafii na qaqqabi. Yommuu ani si waammadhus sagalee koo dhagaʼi.
A psalm of David. Yahweh, I am crying out to you; come quickly to me. Listen to me when I call to you.
2 Kadhannaan koo fuula kee duratti akka ixaanaatti anaaf haa fudhatamu; harka koo ol qabachuun koos akka aarsaa galgalaa anaaf haa taʼu.
May my prayer be like incense before you; may my lifted hands be like the evening sacrifice.
3 Yaa Waaqayyo, afaan kootiif eegduu naa dhaabi; balbala afaan kootiis naa eegi.
Yahweh, place a guard over my mouth; guard the door of my lips.
4 Garaan koo namoota waan hamaa hojjetan wajjin, hojii hamminaa keessatti hirmaachuuf, gara jalʼina kamiitti iyyuu hin harkifamin; akka ani nyaata isaanii miʼaawaa nyaadhus anaaf hin eeyyamin.
Do not let my heart desire any evil thing or participate in sinful activities with men who behave wickedly. May I not eat any of their delicacies.
5 Namni qajeelaan na haa rukutu; kun gara laafinaatii; inni ana haa ifatu; kunis zayitii mataa koo irraatti. Mataan koo waan kana hin didu. Taʼus kadhannaan koo yoom iyyuu hojii hamootaatiin mormuu dha.
Let a righteous man hit me; it will be a kindness to me. Let him correct me; it will be like oil on my head; may my head not refuse to accept it. But my prayer is always against their wicked deeds.
6 Bulchitoonni isaanii ededa boollaa irraa gad ni darbatamu; isaan dubbii koo ni dhagaʼu; dubbiin koo ni miʼaawaatii.
Their leaders will be thrown down from the top of cliffs; they will hear that my own words are pleasant.
7 Isaanis, “Akkuma namni lafa qotu biyyoo bulleessu sana, lafeen keenya afaan siiʼool irratti bittinneeffamee jira” jedhu. (Sheol h7585)
They will have to say, “As when one plows and breaks up the ground, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of Sheol.” (Sheol h7585)
8 Yaa Waaqayyo Gooftaa, ani garuu ija koo sirraa hin buqqifadhu; ani kooluu sitti galeera; dabarsitee duʼatti na hin kennin.
Surely my eyes are on you, Yahweh, Lord; in you I take refuge; do not leave my soul defenseless.
9 Kiyyoo isaan naaf kaaʼan irraa, kiyyoo warri jalʼina hojjetan naaf qopheessan irraas na eegi.
Protect me from the snares that they have laid for me, from the traps of evildoers.
10 Warri hamoon kiyyoo ofii isaaniitiin haa qabaman; ani garuu nagumaan nan baʼa.
Let the wicked fall into their own nets while I escape.
