1 Haalleluuyaa. Maqaa Waaqayyoo jajadhaa; isin garboonni Waaqayyoo isa galateeffadhaa.
Praise ye Jah! Praise ye the name of Jehovah, Praise, ye servants of Jehovah,
2 Isin warri mana Waaqayyoo keessa, oobdii mana Waaqa keenyaa keessa tajaajiltan, isa galateeffadhaa.
Who are standing in the house of Jehovah, In the courts of the house of our God.
3 Waaqayyo gaariidhaatii, Waaqayyoon galateeffadhaa; inni arjaadhaatii maqaa isaatiif faarfadhaa.
Praise ye Jah! for Jehovah [is] good, Sing praise to His name, for [it is] pleasant.
4 Waaqayyo Yaaqoobin ofii isaatiif, Israaʼelin immoo dhaala dhuunfaa isaa godhee filateeraatii.
For Jacob hath Jah chosen for Himself, Israel for His peculiar treasure.
5 Ani akka Waaqayyo guddaa taʼe, akka Gooftaan keenya waaqota hunda caalaa guddaa taʼe beeka.
For I have known that great [is] Jehovah, Yea, our Lord [is] above all gods.
6 Waaqayyo samiiwwan keessattii fi lafa irratti, galaanotaa fi tuujuba isaanii hunda keessatti, waan isa gammachiisu kam iyyuu ni hojjeta.
All that Jehovah pleased He hath done, In the heavens and in earth, In the seas and all deep places,
7 Inni akka duumessoonni daarii lafaatii kaʼan ni godha; bokkaa wajjin balaqqee erga; gombisaa isaa keessaas bubbee gad baasa.
Causing vapours to ascend from the end of the earth, Lightnings for the rain He hath made, Bringing forth wind from His treasures.
8 Inni hangafoota Gibxi, kan namaatii fi kan horii ni dhaʼe.
Who smote the first-born of Egypt, From man unto beast.
9 Yaa Gibxi, inni gidduu keetti, Faraʼoonii fi tajaajiltoota isaa hundatti mallattoo fi dinqii isaa ergeera.
He sent tokens and wonders into thy midst, O Egypt, On Pharaoh and on all his servants.
10 Inni saboota baayʼee dhaʼee mootota jajjaboo ajjeese;
Who smote many nations, and slew strong kings,
11 Sihoon mootii warra Amoorotaa, Oogi mootii Baashaanii fi mootota Kanaʼaan hunda ni ajjeese;
Even Sihon king of the Amorite, And Og king of Bashan, And all kingdoms of Canaan.
12 lafa isaanii dhaala godhee akka dhaala isaanii taʼuufis saba isaa Israaʼeliif kenne.
And He gave their land an inheritance, An inheritance to Israel His people,
13 Yaa Waaqayyo, maqaan kee bara baraan jiraata; yaa Waaqayyo, ati dhaloota hunda keessatti ni yaadatamta.
O Jehovah, Thy name [is] to the age, O Jehovah, Thy memorial to all generations.
14 Waaqayyo saba isaatiif ni falma; tajaajiltoota isaatiifis garaa laafa.
For Jehovah doth judge His people, And for His servants comforteth Himself.
15 Waaqonni tolfamoon namoota ormaa meetii fi warqee harka namaatiin hojjetamanii dha.
The idols of the nations [are] silver and gold, Work of the hands of man.
16 Isaan afaan qabu; garuu dubbachuu hin dandaʼan; ijas qabu; garuu arguu hin dandaʼan;
A mouth they have, and they speak not, Eyes they have, and they see not,
17 gurra qabu; garuu dhagaʼuu hin dandaʼan; yookaan hafuurri tokko iyyuu afaan isaanii keessa hin jiru.
Ears they have, and they give not ear, Nose — there is no breath in their mouth!
18 Warri isaan tolchan kanneen isaan amanatan hundi akkuma isaanii taʼu.
Like them are their makers, Every one who is trusting in them.
19 Yaa mana Israaʼel Waaqayyoon eebbisaa; yaa mana Aroon Waaqayyoon eebbisaa;
O house of Israel, bless ye Jehovah, O house of Aaron, bless ye Jehovah,
20 yaa mana Lewwii Waaqayyoon eebbisaa; isin warri isa sodaattanis, Waaqayyoon eebbisaa.
O house of Levi, bless ye Jehovah, Those fearing Jehovah, bless ye Jehovah.
21 Waaqayyo inni Yerusaalem keessa jiraatu sun, Xiyoon irraa haa eebbifamu. Haalleluuyaa!
Blessed [is] Jehovah from Zion, Inhabiting Jerusalem — praise ye Jah!
