1 Faarfannaa ol baʼuu. Faarfannaa Daawit. Yaa Waaqayyo, garaan koo of hin jaju; iji koos of hin tuulu; ani waan guddaa fi waan humna kootii ol taʼe keessa hin seenu.

Yahweh, I am not proud and I have not thought highly about (myself/the things that I have done). And I do not concern myself about things [that you have done] that are very big or very wonderful.

2 Ani garuu lubbuu koo afaan qabachiiseera; calʼisiiseeras; akkuma daaʼimni harma haadha isaa guusan tokko haadhatti irkatee boqotu sana, akkuma daaʼima harma haadha isaa guusanii lubbuun koo na keessatti calʼiste.

Instead, I am calm and peaceful, like a [small] child who lies quietly in its mother’s arms [SIM]. In the same way, I am peaceful.

3 Yaa Israaʼel, ammaa fi bara baraaf, Waaqayyoon abdadhu.

You [my fellow] Israelis, confidently expect that Yahweh [will do good things for you], now and forever!
