1 Haalleluuyaa. Namni Waaqayyoon sodaatu, kan ajaja isaatti baayʼee gammadu eebbifamaa dha.
Praise Yahweh! (Happy are/He is pleased with) those who revere him, those who happily obey his commands.
2 Sanyiin isaa lafa irratti jabaa taʼa; dhaloonni tolootaa ni eebbifama.
Their children will prosper in their land; and their descendants will be blessed [by God].

Their families [MTY] will be very wealthy [DOU], and [the results of] their righteous deeds will endure forever.
4 Nama tolaa fi arjaadhaaf, gara laafessaa fi qajeelaaf, dukkana keessatti iyyuu ifni ni baʼa.
Godly/Righteous people are [like] lights [SIM] that shine in the darkness on those who are kind, merciful and righteous.
5 Nama arjaa fi nama waa namaa liqeessuuf, nama hojii isaa qajeelummaadhaan adeemsifatuuf waan gaariitu taʼa.
Things [will] go well for those who generously lend money to others and who conduct their businesses honestly.
6 Dhugumaan inni gonkumaa hin raafamu; namni qajeelaan bara baraan yaadatama.
Righteous people will not be overwhelmed/worried/distressed [because of their troubles], and they will never be forgotten [by other people].
7 Inni oduu hamaa hin sodaatu; garaan isaas Waaqayyoon amanachuudhaan jabaatee dhaabata.
They are not afraid of [receiving] bad news; they confidently/completely trust in Yahweh.
8 Garaan isaa hin raafamu; hin sodaatus; dhuma irrattis diinota isaa moʼata.
They are confident and not afraid, because they know that they will see [God defeat] their enemies.
9 Inni ni bittinneesse; hiyyeeyyiifis ni kenne; qajeelummaan isaa bara baraan ni jiraata; gaanfi isaas ulfinaan ol qabama.
They give things generously to poor/needy [people]; [the results of] their kind deeds will endure forever, and they [will] be exalted and honored.
10 Namni hamaan waan kana argee aara; ilkaan isaa qara; baqees ni bada; hawwiin hamootaa faayidaa malee hafa.
Wicked people see those things and are angry; they gnash their teeth [angrily], but they [will] disappear [and die]. The [wicked] things that they want to do [will] never happen.
