Faarfannaa 11

1 Dura buʼaa Faarfattootaatiif. Faarfannaa Daawit. Ani Waaqayyotti kooluu galeera. Yoos isin akkamitti lubbuu kootiin akkana jechuu dandeessu: “Ati akkuma simbirroo tulluu keetti barrisi.

TO THE OVERSEER. BY DAVID. In YHWH I trusted, how do you say to my soul, “They moved to your mountain [as] the bird?”

2 Kunoo namoonni hamoon iddaa isaanii dabsataniiru; isaan warra toloota taʼan, dukkana keessa waraanuuf jedhanii, xiyya isaanii ribuutti dhaabbataniiru.

For behold, the wicked bend a bow, They have prepared their arrow on the string, To shoot in darkness at the upright in heart.

3 Yoo hundeewwan diigaman, namni qajeelaan maal gochuu dandaʼa?”

When the foundations are destroyed, The righteous—what has he done?

4 Waaqayyo mana qulqullummaa isaa qulqulluu sana keessa jira; teessoon Waaqayyoo samii irra jira. Inni ilmaan namootaa ni ilaala; iji isaas namoota ni qora.

YHWH [is] in His holy temple: YHWH—His throne [is] in the heavens. His eyes see—His eyelids try the sons of men.

5 Waaqayyo qajeeltotaa fi jalʼoota ni qora; lubbuun isaa garuu nama goolii jaallatu ni jibbiti.

YHWH tries the righteous. And the wicked and the lover of violence, His soul has hated,

6 Inni hamoota irratti, barbadaa ibiddaatii fi dinyii bobaʼu ni roobsa; qoodni isaaniis bubbee finiinaa dha.

He pours on the wicked snares, fire, and brimstone, And a horrible wind [is] the portion of their cup.

7 Waaqayyo waan qajeelaa taʼeef, murtii qajeelaa jaallata; toloonnis fuula isaa ni argu.

For YHWH [is] righteous, He has loved righteousness, His countenance sees the upright!
