1 Faarfannaa Daawit. Yaa Waaqi, garaan koo hin raafamu; ani nan faarfadha; lubbuu koo guutuudhaanis sin galateeffadha.
My heart is steadfast, God. I will sing zahmar ·musical praise· and I will give kavod ·weighty glory·.
2 Yaa kiraaraa fi baganaa dammaqaa! Anis ganamaan nan dammaqa.
Wake up, harp and lyre! I will wake up the dawn.
3 Yaa Waaqayyo, ani saboota gidduutti galata siif nan galcha; namoota gidduuttis waaʼee kee nan faarfadha.
I will yadah ·extend hands in thankful praise· to you, Adonai, among the nations. I will sing zahmar ·musical praise· to you among the peoples.
4 Jaalalli kee guddaa dha; samiiwwanis caalaa ol dheeraadhaatii; amanamummaan kees samiiwwan qaqqaba.
For your chesed ·loving-kindness· is great above the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
5 Yaa Waaqi, ati samiiwwaniin olitti ol ol jedhi; ulfinni kees lafa hunda irra haa jiraatu.
Be exalted, God, above the heavens! Let your kavod ·weighty glory· be over all the earth.
6 Akka warri ati jaallattu furamaniif, harka kee mirgaatiin nu oolchi; nu gargaaris;
That your yadid ·beloved· may be delivered, save with your right hand, and answer us.
7 Waaqni iddoo qulqullummaa isaatii akkana jedhee dubbateera: “Ani gammachuudhaan Sheekemin gargar nan qooda; Sulula Sukootis nan safara.
God has spoken from his sanctuary: “In triumph, I will divide Shechem, and measure out the valley of Sukkot.
8 Giliʼaad kan koo ti; Minaaseenis kan koo ti; Efreem gonfoo sibiilaa koo ti; Yihuudaanis bokkuu mootummaa koo ti.
Gilead is mine. Manasseh [Causing to forget] is mine. Ephraim [Fruit] also is my helmet. Judah [Praised] is my scepter.
9 Moʼaab caabii dhiqannaa koo ti; Edoom irra kophee koo darbadhee nan buusa; Filisxeem irrattis moʼannaadhaan nan geerara.”
Moab [From father] is my wash pot. I will toss my sandal on Edom [Red]. I will shout over Philistia.”
10 Eenyutu magaalaa jabeeffamtee ijaaramtetti na fida? Eenyutu Edoomitti na geessa?
Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who has led me to Edom [Red]?
11 Yaa Waaqi kan nu gatte, kan loltoota keenya wajjin baʼuu diddes suma mitii?
Haven’t you rejected us, God? You don’t go out, God, with our armies.
12 Diina keenya of irraa dhowwuu nu gargaar, gargaarsi namaa faayidaa hin qabuutii.
Give us help against the enemy, for the help of man is vain.
13 Nu Waaqa wajjin ni moʼanna; innis diinota keenya gad dhidhiita.
Through God, we will do valiantly. For it is he who will tread down our enemies.
