Faarfannaa 105
1 Waaqayyoof galata galchaa; maqaa isaas waammadhaa; waan inni hojjetes saboota gidduutti beeksisaa.
O give thanks unto the Lord; call on his name: make known among the people his deeds.
2 Isaaf faarfadhaa; faarfannaadhaan isa galateeffadhaa; waaʼee hojii isaa isa dinqisiisaa hundaas odeessaa.
Sing unto, him, sing praises unto him: speak of all his wonderful works.
3 Maqaa isaa qulqulluu sanaan boonaa; garaan warra Waaqayyoon barbaadanii haa gammadu.
Glorify yourselves in his holy name: let the heart of those rejoice that seek the Lord.
4 Waaqayyoo fi humna isaa barbaaddadhaa; yeroo hunda fuula isaa barbaadaa.
Inquire after the Lord and his strength: seek his presence evermore.
5 Dinqii inni hojjete, hojii isaa dinqii sanaa fi murtii inni labse yaadadhaa;
Remember his wonderful works which he hath done; his tokens, and the decrees of his mouth;
6 isin tajaajiltoonni isaa, warri sanyii Abrahaam taatan, isin filatamtoonni isaa, ilmaan Yaaqoobis kana yaadadhaa.
O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob, his elect.
7 Inni Waaqayyo Waaqa keenya; murtiin isaas lafa hunda irra jira.
He is the Lord our God: over all the earth are his decrees.
8 Inni kakuu isaa bara baraan, waadaa gale sanas dhaloota kumaaf ni yaadata;
He remembereth his covenant for ever, the word which he hath commanded, to the thousandth generation.
9 inni kakuu Abrahaam wajjin gale, kakuu Yisihaaqiif kakates ni yaadata.
Which he covenanted with Abraham; and his oath unto Isaac;
10 Kanas Yaaqoobiif seera, Israaʼeliif immoo kakuu bara baraa godhee akkana jedhee mirkaneesseera:
And which he established unto Jacob as a statute, unto Israel as an everlasting covenant:
11 “Ani biyya Kanaʼaan qooda ati dhaaltu godhee siif nan kenna.”
Saying, “Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, as the portion of your inheritance.”
12 Isaan yeroo lakkoobsaan xinnoo turanitti, dhugumaanuu xinnoo fi biyyattii keessattis keessummoota turanitti,
When they were but a few men in number; yea, very few, and strangers in it;
13 sabaa gara sabaatti, mootummaa tokkoo gara mootummaa biraatti jooran.
And when they wandered from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people:
14 Inni akka namni tokko iyyuu isaan cunqursu hin eeyyamne; sababii isaaniitiifis akkana jedhee mootota ifate:
He suffered no man to oppress them; yea, he reproved kings for their sake;
15 “Dibamtoota koo hin tuqinaa; raajota koos hin miidhinaa.”
[Saying, ] “Touch not my anointed, and do my prophets no harm,”—
16 Inni beela biyyattiitti waame; midhaan nyaataa hundas ni balleesse;
And he called for a famine over the land; every staff of bread he broke.
17 innis Yoosef namicha akka garbaatti gurgurame tokko isaan dura erge.
He sent a man before them; for a servant was Joseph sold;
18 Isaan foncaadhaan miilla isaa luqqisan; mormi isaas sibiila keessa galfame;
They forced into fetters his feet; in iron was his body put:
19 hamma wanni inni duraan dursee dubbate guutamutti dubbiin Waaqayyoo isa qore.
Until the time that his word came to pass, [when] the saying of the Lord had purified him.
20 Mootiin nama ergee gad isa dhiisise; bulchaan sabaa isa hiiksise.
The king sent and unfettered him; the ruler of people, and let him go free.
21 Mootichis mana isaa irratti ajajaa, qabeenya isaa hunda irratti immoo bulchaa isa godhate;
He appointed him lord of his house, and ruler of all his possession:
22 kanas akka inni akkuma fedhetti qondaaltota isaa gorsuuf, akka inni maanguddoota isaa ogummaa barsiisuuf godhe.
That he might bind his princes at his pleasure; and teach his ancients wisdom.
23 Israaʼel biyya Gibxi dhaqe; Yaaqoobis akka alagaatti biyya Haam keessa jiraate.
Then came Israel into Egypt, and Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
24 Waaqayyo saba isaa akka malee baayʼise; akka isaan amajaajota isaanii caalaa jabaatanis godhe;
And he increased his people greatly, and made them stronger than their adversaries.
25 innis akka isaan saba isaa jibbanii fi akka isaan tajaajiltoota isaatti mariʼataniif yaada isaanii geeddare.
He turned their heart to hate his people, to deal subtilely with his servants.
26 Waaqnis Musee tajaajilaa isaatii fi Aroon filatamaa isaa erge.
He sent Moses his servant, Aaron also whom he had made choice of.
27 Isaanis jara gidduutti mallattoo isaa, biyya Haam keessatti immoo dinqii isaa argisiisan.
They displayed among them his effective signs, and wonders in the land of Ham.
28 Inni dukkana ergee biyyattii dukkaneesse; isaan dubbii isaatti fincilaniiruutii.
He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they rebelled not against his word.
29 Inni bishaanota isaanii dhiigatti geeddaree akka qurxummiiwwan isaanii dhuman godhe.
He changed their waters into blood, and slew their fish.
30 Fatteen biyya isaanii guutee diinqa mootota isaanii keessa yaaʼe.
Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, in the very chambers of their kings.
31 Inni dubbannaan tuunni tisiisaatii fi bookeen biyya isaanii hunda keessa guutte.
He spoke, and there came various wild beasts, lice also within all their boundary.
32 Inni qooda bokkaa cabbii isaaniif roobse; bakakkaas biyya isaaniitti erge;
He gave them as their rain hail, and flames of fire in their land.
33 wayinii isaaniitii fi muka harbuu isaanii balleesse; mukkeen biyya isaaniis ni caccabse.
And he smote their vines and their fig-trees, and broke the trees within their boundary.
34 Inni dubbannaan hawwaannisnii fi korophisni hedduun dhufan;
He spoke, and the locusts came, and crickets, and that without number;
35 isaanis biqiltuu biyya jaraa hunda nyaatan; waan lafti isaanii baases ni fixan.
And they ate up all the herbs in their land, and ate up the fruit of their ground.
36 Ergasii inni hangafa biyya isaanii hunda, jabina isaanii jalqabaas ni dhaʼe.
And he smote all the first-born in their land, the first of all their strength.
37 Akka sabni Israaʼel meetii fi warqee baadhatee baʼu godhe; gosa isaanii keessaa namni tokko iyyuu hin gufanne.
And he brought them forth with silver and gold: and there was not one that stumbled among his tribes.
38 Israaʼeloonni baanaan warri Gibxi gammadan; isaan Israaʼelin sodaatanii turaniitii.
Egypt rejoiced when they departed; for the dread of them was fallen upon them.
39 Inni akka gaaddisaatti duumessa isaan irra qabe; akka halkaniin isaaniif ibsuuf immoo ibidda qabsiiseef.
He spread out a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light in the night.
40 Isaan kadhannaan inni dimbiriqqee kenneef; buddeena samiitiinis isaan quufse.
The people asked, and he brought quails, and with heavenly bread he satisfied them.
41 Innis kattaa bane; bishaanis keessaa gad dhangalaʼe; akkuma bishaan lagaattis gammoojjii keessaa yaaʼe.
He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out: they ran in the dry places like a river.
42 Inni waadaa isaa qulqulluu, kan garbicha isaa Abrahaamiif gale sana yaadateeraatii.
For he remembered his holy word given to Abraham his servant.
43 Inni saba isaa gammachuun, warra isaaf filataman immoo ililleedhaan baaseera;
And he brought forth his people with gladness, with joyful song his elect.
44 inni biyya ormootaa isaaniif kenne; isaanis waan saboonni sun itti dadhaban dhaalan;
And he gave them the lands of nations; and the labor of people they obtained as an inheritance:
45 kanas akka isaan sirna isaa eeganii seera isaatiif bulaniif godhe. Haalleluuyaa.
So that they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Hallelujah.
