Faarfannaa 101

1 Faarfannaa Daawit. Ani jaalala keetii fi murtii kee qajeelaa sanaaf nan faarfadha; Yaa Waaqayyo ani siif nan faarfadha.

“A psalm of David.” I will sing of mercy and justice; To thee, O LORD! will I sing!

2 Ani jireenya hirʼina hin qabne jiraachuuf of nan eeggadha; ati yoom gara koo dhufta? Ani garaa qulqulluudhaan, mana koo nan jiraadha.

I will have regard to the way of uprightness: When thou shalt come to me, I will walk within my house with an upright heart.

3 Ani ija koo dura, waan hamaa hin kaaʼu. Hojii jalʼootaa nan jibba; nattis hin qabatu.

I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes; I hate the work of evil-doers; It shall not cleave to me.

4 Namoonni yaada micciiramaa qaban narraa haa fagaatan; ani jalʼina wajjin tokkummaa hin qabaadhu.

The perverse in heart shall be far from me; I will not know a wicked person.

5 Nama dhoksaan ollaa isaa hamatu kam iyyuu, ani afaan nan qabachiisa; nama tuffiin nama ilaaluu fi kan garaa of tuulu qabuuf, ani obsa hin qabaadhu.

Whoso slandereth his neighbor in secret, him will I cut off; Him that hath a haughty look and a proud heart I will not endure.

6 Akka isaan na wajjin jiraataniif, iji koo amanamoota biyyattii irra jiraatti; namni karaa qajeelaa irra deemu, inni na tajaajila.

Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; He that walketh in the way of uprightness shall serve me.

7 Namni nama gowwoomsu tokko iyyuu mana koo keessa hin jiraatu; namni soba dubbatu tokko iyyuu fuula koo dura hin dhaabatu.

He who practiseth deceit shall not dwell in my house; He who telleth lies shall not remain in my sight.

8 Ani jalʼoota biyyattii hunda, ganama ganama nan barbadeessa; warra waan hamaa hojjetan magaalaa Waaqayyoo keessaa nan balleessa.

Every morning will I destroy the wicked of the land, That I may cut off all evil-doers from the city of the LORD.
