1 Waaqayyo Museedhaan akkana jedhe;

And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,

2 “Akkana jedhii Israaʼeloota ajaji: ‘Yeroo isin Kanaʼaan seentanitti biyyi akka dhaalaatti isinii kennamtu sun daangaawwan kanneen qabaatti:

“Command the sons of Israel, and you have said to them: When you are coming into the land of Canaan—this [is] the land which falls to you by inheritance, the land of Canaan, by its borders—

3 “‘Daangaan keessan kan gama kibbaa Gammoojjii Siin kan qarqara Edoom irra jirtu irraa jalqaba; karaa baʼaatiin daangaan keessan kan kibbaa dhuma Galaana Soogiddaa irraa jalqaba;

then the south quarter has been to you from the wilderness of Zin, by the sides of Edom, indeed, the south border has been to you from the extremity of the Salt Sea eastward;

4 daangaan keessan kibba irraa gara tabba Aqrabiimitti deebiʼee, gara Siinitti ceʼee hamma kibba Qaadesh Barneetti deema. Ergasiis gara Hazar Adaaritti ittuma fufee gara Azimoonitti darba.

and the border has turned around to you from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and has passed on to Zin, and its outgoings have been from the south to Kadesh-Barnea, and it has gone out at Hazar-Addar, and has passed on to Azmon;

5 Daangaan sunis Azimoon irraa gara laga Gibxitti deebiʼee galaana gaʼee dhuma.

and the border has turned around from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and its outgoings have been at the sea.

6 Daangaan keessan kan gama dhiʼaa immoo qarqara Galaana guddichaa ti. Kunis gama dhiʼaatiin daangaa keessan taʼa.

As for the west border, even the Great Sea has been a border to you; this is the west border to you.

7 Daarii keessan kan kaabaatiif galaana guddaadhaa hamma Tulluu Huuritti,

And this is the north border to you: from the Great Sea you mark out for yourselves Mount Hor;

8 Tulluu Huuriitii hamma Leeboo Hamaatiitti mallattoo tolchaa. Daariin sunis hamma Zedaaditti deemee

from Mount Hor you mark out to go to Hamath, and the outgoings of the border have been to Zedad;

9 hamma Ziifronitti itti fufee Hazar Eenaan irratti dhuma. Kunis daarii keessan kan kaabaa taʼa.

and the border has gone out to Ziphron, and its outgoings have been at Hazar-Enan; this is the north border to you.

10 Daarii keessan kan baʼaatiifis Hazar Eenaanii jalqabaatii hamma Shefaamaatti mallattoo tolchaa.

And you have marked out for yourselves for the border eastward, from Hazar-Enan to Shepham;

11 Daariin sunis Shefaamaa jalqabee karaa baʼa Aayiniitiin hamma Riibilaatti gad buʼa; itti fufees hamma ededa gama baʼaa Galaana Kinereetitti argamuutti deema.

and the border has gone down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east of Ain, and the border has gone down, and has struck against the shoulder of the Sea of Chinnereth eastward;

12 Daariin kunis Yordaanositti gad buʼee Galaana Soogiddaa gaʼee dhaabata. “‘Egaa biyyi gama hundaan daarii qabu kun keessan taʼa.’”

and the border has gone down to the Jordan, and its outgoings have been at the Salt Sea; this is the land for you by its borders all around.”

13 Museen akkana jedhee Israaʼeloota ajaje: “Biyya kana dhaala godhadhaatii ixaadhaan qoodadhaa; Waaqayyo akka biyyi kun gosa sagalii fi walakkaadhaaf kennamu ajajeera;

And Moses commands the sons of Israel, saying, “This [is] the land which you inherit by lot, which YHWH has commanded to give to the nine tribes and the half of the tribe;

14 maatiiwwan gosa Ruubeen, kan gosa Gaadii fi walakkaan gosa Minaasee dhaala ofii fudhataniiruutii.

for the tribe of the sons of Reuben, by the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad, by the house of their fathers, have received [their inheritance]; and [those of] the half of the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance;

15 Gosoonni lamaanii fi walakkaan gosa tokkoo Yordaanos gamaa, fuullee Yerikootii gara baʼa biiftuutti karaa baʼaatiin dhaala isaanii argataniiru.”

the two tribes and the half of the tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan, [near] Jericho, eastward, at the [sun]-rising.”

16 Waaqayyo Museedhaan akkana jedhe;

And YHWH speaks to Moses, saying,

17 “Maqaan namoota akka dhaalaatti lafa kana isinii qoodaniis Eleʼaazaar lubichaa fi Iyyaasuu ilma Nuunii ti.

“These [are] the names of the men who give the inheritance of the land to you: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun.

18 Isinis akka isaan lafa dhaalaa qoodaniif tokkoo tokkoo gosaa keessaa hoogganaa tokko filadhaa.

And one prince—you take one prince from a tribe to give the land by inheritance.

19 “Maqaan isaaniis kanneenii dha: “Gosa Yihuudaa keessaa, Kaaleb ilma Yefunee;

And these [are] the names of the men: of the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;

20 gosa Simiʼoon keessaa, Shemuuʼeel ilma Amiihuud;

and of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Shemuel son of Aminihud;

21 gosa Beniyaam keessaa, Eliidaad ilma Kisloon;

of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon;

22 gosa Daan keessaa hoogganaan, Bukii ilma Yoogilii;

and a prince of the tribe of the sons of Dan, Bukki son of Jogli;

23 gosa Minaasee ilma Yoosef keessaa hoogganaan, Haniiʼeel ilma Eefoodi;

of the sons of Joseph, a prince of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, Hanniel son of Ephod;

24 gosa Efreem ilma Yoosef keessaa hoogganaan, Qamuʼeel ilma Shiifxaan;

and a prince of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, Kemuel son of Shiphtan;

25 gosa Zebuuloon keessaa hoogganaan, Eliisaafaan ilma Phaarnaak;

and a prince of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, Elizaphan son of Parnach;

26 gosa Yisaakor keessaa hoogganaan, Phaaltiiʼeel ilma Azaan;

and a prince of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, Paltiel son of Azzan;

27 gosa Aasheer keessaa hoogganaan, Ahiihuud ilma Sheloomii;

and a prince of the tribe of the sons of Asher, Ahihud son of Shelomi;

28 gosa Niftaalem keessaa hoogganaan, Phedaaʼeel ilma Amiihuud.”

and a prince of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, Pedahel son of Ammihud.”

29 Namoonni kunneen warra Waaqayyo akka isaan biyya Kanaʼaan keessatti Israaʼelootaaf dhaala hiraniif isaan ajajee dha.

These [are] those whom YHWH has commanded to give the sons of Israel inheritance in the land of Canaan.
