1 Miiriyaamii fi Aroon sababii Museen dubartii Itoophiyaa fuudheef isaan mormuudhaan dubbachuu jalqaban; inni dubartii Itoophiyaa fuudhee tureetii.
Miriam [Rebellion] and Aaron [Light-bringer] spoke against Moses [Drawn out] because of the Cushite woman whom he had married; for he had married a Cushite woman.
2 Isaanis, “Waaqayyo karaa Musee qofaan dubbatee? Inni karaa keenyaanis dubbatee ture mitii?” jedhan. Waaqayyos dubbii kana dhagaʼe.
They said, “Has Adonai indeed spoken only with Moses [Drawn out]? Has not he spoken also with us?” And Adonai sh'ma ·heard obeyed· it.
3 Museen namoota lafa irra jiraatan hunda caalaa nama akka malee gad of qabu ture.
Now the man Moses [Drawn out] was very humble, more than all the men who were on the surface of the earth.
4 Waaqayyos yommusuma Museen, Aroonii fi Miiriyaamiin, “Isin sadanuu gara dunkaana wal gaʼiitti gad baʼaa” jedhe. Isaan sadanuus gad baʼan.
Adonai spoke suddenly to Moses [Drawn out], to Aaron [Light-bringer], and to Miriam [Rebellion], “You three come out to the Tent of Meeting!” The three of them came out.
5 Ergasii Waaqayyo utubaa duumessaa keessaan gad buʼee balbala dunkaanaa irra dhaabatee Aroonii fi Miiriyaamin waame. Jarri lachuu isatti dhiʼaannaan,
Adonai came down in a pillar of cloud, and stood at the door of the Tent, and called Aaron [Light-bringer] and Miriam [Rebellion]; and they both came forward.
6 inni akkana jedheen; “Dubbii koo dhagaʼaa: “Yoo raajiin Waaqayyoo gidduu keessan jiraate, ani mulʼata keessa isatti of nan mulʼisa; abjuudhaanis isatti nan dubbadha.
He said, “Now sh'ma ·hear obey· my words. If there is a prophet among you, I, Adonai, will make myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with him in a dream.
7 Garuu garbichi koo Museen akkana miti; inni mana koo hunda keessatti amanamaa dha.
My servant Moses [Drawn out] is not so. He is faithful in all my house.
8 Ani utuu dhoksaadhaan hin taʼin, ifaan ifatti isatti nan dubbadha; inni bifa Waaqayyoo ni arga. Yoos isin maaliif garbicha koo Museedhaan mormuudhaan dubbachuu hin sodaanne ree?”
With him, I will speak mouth to mouth, even plainly, and not in riddles; and he shall see Adonai’s form. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant, against Moses [Drawn out]?”
9 Aariin Waaqayyos isaan irratti bobaʼe; innis isaan dhiisee deeme.
Adonai’s anger burned against them; and he departed.
10 Yommuu duumessi sun dunkaana gubbaadhaa ol kaʼetti kunoo, Miiriyaam lamxooftee akkuma cabbii addaattee turte. Aroonis gara isheetti garagalee akka isheen lamxii qabdu arge;
The cloud departed from over the Tent; and behold, Miriam [Rebellion] was leprous, as white as snow. Aaron [Light-bringer] looked at Miriam [Rebellion], and behold, she was leprous.
11 innis Museedhaan akkana jedhe; “Maaloo yaa gooftaa ko, cubbuu nu gowwummaadhaan hojjenne sana nutti hin lakkaaʼin.
Aaron [Light-bringer] said to Moses [Drawn out], “Oh, my lord, please don’t count this habitual sin ·missing the mark· against us, in which we have done foolishly, and in which we have sinned ·deviated (from the standard goal)·.
12 Akka gatata foon isaa gariin nyaatamee gadameessa haadha isaa keessaa baʼu tokkoo ishee hin godhin.”
Let her not, I pray, be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother’s womb.”
13 Museen Waaqayyotti booʼee, “Yaa Waaqayyo, maaloo ishee fayyisi!” jedhe.
Moses [Drawn out] cried to Adonai, saying, “Heal her, God, I beg you!”
14 Waaqayyo akkana jedhee Museedhaaf deebii kenne; “Utuu abbaan ishee fuula isheetti tufee silaa isheen bultii torba salphina keessa turti mitii ree? Isheen bultii torba qubataan ala haa turtu; ergasii deebitee dhufuu dandeessi.”
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “If her father had but spit in her face, should not she be ashamed seven days? Let her be shut up outside of the camp seven days, and after that she shall be brought in again.”
15 Miiriyaam bultii torba qubataan ala turte; sabni sunis hamma isheen deebitutti deemsa itti hin fufne.
Miriam [Rebellion] was shut up outside of the camp seven days, and the people didn’t travel until Miriam [Rebellion] was brought in again.
16 Ergasii sabni sun Haxerootii kaʼee Gammoojjii Phaaraan keessa qubate.
Afterward the people traveled from Hazeroth, and encamped in the wilderness of Paran.
