1 Isaan kunneen lubootaa fi Lewwota warra Zarubaabel ilma Sheʼaltiiʼeelii fi Iyyaasuu wajjin deebiʼanii dha: Seraayaa, Ermiyaas, Izraa,

And these are the priests and the Levites that came up with Zerubbabel the son of Shealthiel, and Jeshua': Serayah, Jeremiah, 'Ezra,

2 Amariyaa, Maluuk, Haxuush,

Amaryah, Malluch, Chattush,

3 Shekaaniyaa, Rehuum, Mereemooti,

Shechanyah, Rechum, Meremoth,

4 Iddoo, Ginetoon, Abiyaa,

'Iddo, Ginnethoy, Abiyah,

5 Miyaamiin, Maʼaadiyaa, Bilgaa,

Miyamin, Ma'adyah, Bilgah,

6 Shemaaʼiyaa, Yooyaariib, Yedaaʼiyaa,

Shema'yah, and Joyarib, Jed'ayah,

7 Saʼaaluu, Aamoq, Hilqiyaa fi Yedaaʼiyaa. Warri kun bara Iyyaasuu keessa hooggantoota lubootaatii fi obboloota isaanii turan.

Sallu, 'Amok, Chilkiyah, Jed'ayah. These were the chiefs of the priests and of their brethren in the days of Jeshua'.

8 Lewwonni immoo Yeeshuuʼaa, Binuuyii, Qadmiiʼeel, Sheereebiyaa, Yihuudaa akkasumas Mataaniyaa isa obboloota isaa wajjin faarfannaa galataatti itti gaafatamaa ture sana turan.

And the Levites: Jeshua', Binnui, Kadmiel, Sherebyah, Judah, and Matthaniah, who was over the songs of thanksgiving, he and his brethren;

9 Obboleeyyan isaanii Baqbuqiyaa fi Unniin yeroo tajaajilaatti fuullee isaanii dhadhaabachaa turan.

And Bakbukyah and 'Unni, their brethren, were opposite to them in the watches.

10 Iyyaasuun abbaa Yooyaaqiim; Yooyaaqiim abbaa Eliyaashiib; Eliyaashiib abbaa Yooyaadaa ti;

And Jeshua' begat Joyakim, and Joyakim begat Elyashib, and Elyashib begat Joyada'.

11 Yooyaadaan abbaa Yoonaataan; Yoonaataan abbaa Yaaduʼaa ti.

And Joyada' begat Jonathan, and Jonathan begat Jaddua'.

12 Isaan kunneen bara Yooyaaqiim keessa abbootii maatiiwwan lubootaa turan: Maatii Seraayaa keessaa Meraayaa; maatii Ermiyaas keessaa Hanaaniyaa;

And in the days of Joyakim were priests, as chiefs of the divisions: Of Serayah, Merayah; of Jeremiah, Chananyah;

13 maatii Izraa keessaa Meshulaam; maatii Amariyaa keessaa Yehohaanaan;

Of 'Ezra, Meshullam; of Amaryah, Jehochanan;

14 maatii Maliikii keessaa Yoonaataan; maatii Shebaniyaa keessaa Yoosef;

Of Mellchu, Jonathan; of Shebanyah, Joseph;

15 maatii Haariim keessaa Adinaa; maatii Meraayoot keessaa Helqaayi;

Of Charim, 'Adna; of Merayoth, Chelkai;

16 maatii Iddoo keessaa Zakkaariyaas; maatii Ginetoon keessaa Meshulaam;

Of 'Iddo, Zechariah; of Ginnethon, Meshullam;

17 maatii Abiyaa keessaa Zikrii; maatii Miniyaamiinii fi kan Moʼaadiyaa keessaa Philxaayi;

Of Abiyah, Zichri; of Minyamin, of Mo'adyah, Piltai;

18 maatii Bilgaa keessaa Shamuuʼaa; maatii Shemaaʼiyaa keessaa Yoonaataan;

Of Bilgah, Shammua'; of Shem'ayah, Jehonathan;

19 maatii Yooyaariib keessaa Matenaayi; maatii Yedaaʼiyaa keessaa Uzii;

And of Joyarib, Matthenai; of Jeda'yah, 'Uzzi;

20 maatii Sheelaay keessaa Qaalaayi; maatii Aamoq keessaa Eeber;

Of Sallai, Kallai; of 'Amok, 'Eber;

21 maatii Hilqiyaa keessaa Hashabiyaa; maatii Yedaaʼiyaa keessaa Naatnaaʼel.

Of Chilkiyah, Chashabyah; of Jeda'yah, Nethanel.

22 Abbootiin maatii Lewwotaa bara Eliyaashiib, Yooyaadaa, Yoohaanaanii fi bara Yaaduʼaa keessa akkasumas abbootiin maatii lubootaa bara mootummaa Daariyoos namicha Faares sanaa keessa galmeeffaman.

Of the Levites in the days of Elyashib, Yoyada', and Yochanan, and Jaddua', are written down the chiefs of the divisions: also those of the priests to the reign of Darius the Persian.

23 Lewwonni warri abbootii maatii turan hamma bara Yoohaanaan ilma Eliyaashiibitti kitaaba seenaa keessatti galmeeffaman.

The sons of Levi, the chiefs of the divisions were written down in the book of the chronicles, even until the days of Jochanan the son of Elyashib.

24 Hangafoonni Lewwotaas Hashabiyaa, Sheereebiyaa, Yeeshuʼaa ilma Qadmiiʼeel akkasumas obboloota isaanii warra akkuma Daawit namni Waaqaa sun ajajetti faarfannaa fi galata dhiʼeessuudhaaf fuullee isaanii dhaabatanii gareen tokko garee kaan jalaa qabu sana turan.

And the chiefs of the Levites were: Chashabyah, Sherebyah, and Jeshua' the son of Kadmiel, with their brethren opposite to them, to praise and to give thanks, according to the command of David the man of God, section by section.

25 Mataaniyaan, Baqbuqiyaan, Obaadiyaan, Meshulaam, Talmoonii fi Aquub mankuusaalee karrawwan bira jiran eegu turan.

Matthanyah, and Bakbukyah, 'Obadiah, Meshullam, Talmon, 'Akkub, were watching gatekeepers on the watch at the thresholds of the gates.

26 Isaanis bara Yooyaaqiim ilma Iyyaasuu, ilma Yoozaadaaq keessa, bara Nahimiyaa bulchaa biyyaatii fi bara Izraa lubicha barreessaa sanaa keessa tajaajilaa turan.

These were in the days of Joyakim, the son of Jeshua', the son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor, and of 'Ezra the priest, the expounder.

27 Yeroo eebba dallaa Yerusaalemitti Lewwonni akka faarfannaa galataatiin, kililleedhaan, baganaa fi kiraaraan ayyaana eebbaa sana gammachuun ayyaaneffataniif iddoo jiraatan hundaa barbaadamanii gara Yerusaalem fidaman.

And at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought the Levites out of all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem, to celebrate the dedication with joy, with thanksgivings, and with singing, cymbals, psalteries, and with harps.

28 Faarfattoonnis biyya naannoo Yerusaalem jechuunis gandoota Netoofotaatii,

And there gathered themselves together the sons of the singers, both out of the district round about Jerusalem, and from the villages of Netophah;

29 Beet Gilgaalii, naannoo Gebaatii fi Azmaawetitti walitti fidaman; faarfattoonni naannoo Yerusaalemitti gandoota ofii isaanii ijaarratanii turaniitii.

Also from Beth-hagilgal, and out of the fields of Geba' and Azmaveth; for the singers had built themselves villages round about Jerusalem.

30 Luboonnii fi Lewwonnis erga akka seeraatti of qulqulleessanii booddee saba, karrawwanii fi dallaa sana qulqulleessan.

And the priests and the Levites purified themselves, and then they purified the people, and the gates, and the wall.

31 Anis akka hooggantoonni Yihuudaa dallaatti ol baʼan nan godhe. Akkasumas akka isaan galata dhiʼeessaniif tuuta faarfattootaa lama nan ramade. Tuunni tokko karaa mirgaatiin dallaa irraan gara Karra Dikee dhaqe.

Then brought I up the princes of Judah upon the wall, and stationed two great companies for thanksgiving, and trains to walk on the right hand upon the wall by the dung-gate;

32 Hooshaʼiyaa fi hooggantoota Yihuudaa keessaa walakkaan,

And after them walked Hosha'yah, and half of the princes of Judah,

33 Azaariyaa, Izraa, Meshulaam,

And 'Azaryah, 'Ezra, and Meshullam,

34 Yihuudaa, Beniyaam, Shemaaʼiyaa fi Ermiyaas wajjin isaan duukaa buʼan;

Judah, and Benjamin, and Shema'yah, and Jeremiah;

35 akkasumas luboonni malakata qabatan tokko tokkoo fi Zakkaariyaas ilmi Yoonaataan, ilmi Shemaaʼiyaa, ilmi Mataaniyaa, Miikaayaa, ilmi Zakuur, ilmi Asaaf isaan duukaa buʼan;

And of the sons of priests' with trumpets, Zechariah the son of Jonathan, the son of Shema'yah, the son of Matthanyah, the son of Michayah, the son of Zaccur, the son of Assaph;

36 amma illee obboloota isaa jechuunis Shemaaʼiyaan, Azariʼeel, Miilaalaayi, Gilaalayi, Maaʼayi, Naatnaaʼel, Yihuudaa fi Hanaaniim akkuma Daawit namni Waaqaa sun ajajetti meeshaa faarfannaa fudhatanii dhaqan. Izraan barreessaan sun immoo isaan hoogganaa ture.

And his brethren, Shema'yah, and 'Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Ma'ai, Nethanel, and Judah, Chanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of God; and 'Ezra the expounder walked before them.

37 Isaanis Karra Burqaa biraa kaʼanii gulantaawwan Magaalaa Daawit iddoo dallaan ittiin ol kaʼu sanaan mana Daawit irraan qajeelanii gara Karra Bishaanii kan gama baʼa biiftuutti ol baʼan.

And over the fountain-gate, and straight before them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the ascent of the wall, above the house of David, even as far as the water-gate, eastward.

38 Tuunni faarfattootaa lammaffaan immoo gara bitaatti qajeele. Anis gartokkee sabaa wajjin dallaa gubbaadhaan gara Gamoo ol dheeraa Iddoo Ibiddaatii fi Dallaa Balʼaatti isaan duukaa buʼe;

And the other company for thanksgiving that walked in the opposite direction to them, —this one did I follow, and the half of the people upon the wall, from beyond the tower of the ovens even as far as the broad wall;

39 akkasumas ani Karra Efreem irraan, karaa Karra Moofaa, karaa Karra Qurxummii, karaa Gamoo ol dheeraa Hanaaniʼeelii fi Karaa Gamoo ol dheeraa Dhibbaatiin hamma Karra Hoolotaatti isaan duukaa nan buʼe. Isaanis Karra Eegdotaa bira gaʼanii dhaabatan.

And above the gate of Ephraim, and above the old gate, and above the fish-gate, and the tower of Chananel, and the tower of Meah, even as far as the sheep-gate; and they halted at the prison-gate.

40 Tuunni faarfattootaa kan galata dhiʼeesse sun lachuu mana Waaqaa keessatti iddoo isaa qabate; anis qondaaltota gartokko wajjin iddoo nan qabadhe;

So did the two companies for thanksgiving place themselves in the house of God, and I, and the half of the rulers with me.

41 amma illee luboonni jechuunis Eliiyaaqiim, Maʼaseyaan, Miiniyaamiin, Miikaayaan, Eliiyooʼeenayin, Zakkaariyaasii fi Hanaaniyaan malakata isaanii qabatanii

And the priests, Elyakim, Ma'asseyah, Minyamin, Michayah, Elyo'enai, Zechariah, and Chananiah, with trumpets;

42 Maʼaseyaan, Shemaaʼiyaan, Eleʼaazaar, Ooziin, Yehohaanaaniin, Malkiyaan, Eelaamii fi Eezer iddoo iddoo isaanii qabatan. Faarfattoonni immoo Yizrahiyaadhaan qajeelfamanii faarfatan.

And Ma'asseyah, and Shema'yah, and El'azar, and 'Uzzi, and Jehochanan, and Malkiyah, and 'Elam, and 'Ezer. And the singers sang aloud, with Yisrachyah as their overseer.

43 Isaanis sababii Waaqni gammachuu guddaa isaaniif kenneef gaafas gammadaa aarsaa guddaa dhiʼeessan. Dubartoonnii fi ijoolleenis ni gammadan. Sagaleen gammachuu Yerusaalem keessaas fagootti dhagaʼame.

And they sacrificed on that day great sacrifices, and rejoiced; for God had caused them to rejoice with great joy; and also the women and the children rejoiced: so that the [shout of] joy of Jerusalem was heard even at a great distance off.

44 Yeroo sanatti namoonni mankuusaalee gumaachi, mataan midhaaniitii fi kennaan harka kudhan keessaa tokkoo itti galfamu irratti itti gaafatamtoota taʼanii muudaman. Isaanis lafa qotiisaa naannoo magaalaawwanitti argaman irraa qooda Seerri lubootaa fi Lewwotaaf ajaju sana fidanii mankuusaaleetti galchan; Yihuudaan lubootaa fi Lewwota tajaajilanitti gammadee tureetii.

And there were appointed at that day certain men as superintendents over the chambers for the treasuries, for the heave-offerings, for the first-fruits, and for the tithes, to gather into them out of the fields of the cities the portions according to the law for the priests and the Levites; for Judah had joy on the priests and on the Levites that stood there,

45 Isaanis tajaajila Waaqa isaaniitii fi tajaajila sirna qulqullessuu sana akkuma faarfattoonnii fi eegdonni karraa godhan sana akkuma Daawitii fi ilmi isaa Solomoon ajajanitti raawwatan.

And kept the charge of their God, and the charge of the purification, and as singers and gatekeepers, according to the command of David, [and] of Solomon his son.

46 Jabana durii bara Daawitii fi Asaaf keessa qajeelchitoota faarfattootaa, kan faarfannaa Waaqa leellisuutii fi kan Waaqa galateeffachuutu tureetii.

For in the days of David and Assaph of old there were chiefs of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto God.

47 Kanaafuu bara Zarubaabelii fi bara Nahimiyaa keessa Israaʼeloonni hundi qooda guyyuma guyyaadhaan faarfattootaa fi karra eegdotaaf barbaachisu kennan. Akkasumas Lewwota kaaniif qooda isaanii kophaatti baasan; Lewwonnis qooda sanyiiwwan Aroon kophaatti baasan.

And all Israel in the days of Zerubbabel, and in the days of Nehemiah, gave the portions of the singers and the gatekeeper, what was required for every day on its day; and they sanctified things for the Levites: and the Levites sanctified [the portion due] for the children of Aaron.
