< Maarqos 12 >
1 Yesuusis akkana jedhee fakkeenyaan isaanitti dubbachuu jalqabe; “Namichi tokko iddoo dhaabaa wayinii irra wayinii dhaabbate. Innis naannoo isaatti dallaa ijaaree, boolla itti wayinii cuunfan qotee qooxii eegumsaa ijaare. Ergasiis iddoo dhaabaa wayinii sana qonnaan bultootatti kiraa kennatee biyya fagoo dhaqe.
Jesus began to speak to them in parables, “A man once planted a vineyard, put a fence around it, dug a wine-press, built a tower, and then let it out to tenants and went abroad.
2 Innis yeroo midhaan walitti qabamutti akka inni ija iddoo dhaabaa wayinii irraa waa fiduufiif garbicha tokko qottuuwwan sanatti ergate.
At the proper time he sent a servant to the tenants, to receive from them a share of the produce of the grape harvest;
3 Isaan garuu qabanii, tumanii harka duwwaa of irraa isa deebisan.
but they seized him, and beat him, and sent him away empty-handed.
4 Ammas garbicha biraa isaanitti ergate; isaanis mataa isaa buruqsanii isa qaanessan.
A second time the owner sent a servant to them; this man, too, the tenants struck on the head, and insulted.
5 Amma illee garbicha biraa ergate; isas ni ajjeesan. Garboota biraa baayʼees ergate; isaanis gartokko ni tuman; kaan immoo ni ajjeesan.
He sent another, but him they killed; and so with many others – some they beat and some they killed.
6 “Amma iyyuu inni nama ergu tokko qaba ture; innis ilma isaa jaallatamaa dha. Namichis, ‘Ilma koo ni kabaju’ jedhee dhuma irratti isa ergate.
He had still one son, who was very dear to him; and him he sent to them last of all. ‘They will respect my son,’ he said.
7 “Qottoonni sun garuu, ‘Dhaaltuun isa kana. Kottaa isa ajjeefnaa; dhaalli sun keenya taʼaatii’ waliin jedhan.
But those tenants said to one another ‘Here is the heir! Come, let us kill him, and his inheritance will be ours.’
8 Kanaafuu isaan fuudhanii isa ajjeesan; iddoo dhaabaa wayinii keessaas gad baasanii isa gatan.
So they seized him, and killed him, and threw his body outside the vineyard.
9 “Egaa abbaan iddoo dhaabaa wayinii sanaa maal godhinna laata? Inni dhufee qottuuwwan sana ni ajjeesa; iddoo dhaabaa wayinii sanas namoota biraatti kennata.
What will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and put the tenants to death, and he will let the vineyard to others.
10 Isin Katabbii Qulqulluu hin dubbifnee? Innis akkana jedha: “‘Dhagaan ijaartonni tuffatan, dhagaa golee taʼeera;
“Have you never read this passage of scripture? – ‘The stone which the builders despised has now itself become the cornerstone;
11 kanas Gooftaatu godhe; kunis ija keenyatti dinqii dha.’”
this cornerstone has come from the Lord, and is marvelous in our eyes.’”
12 Isaanis akka inni isaaniin mormuudhaan fakkeenya sana dubbate waan beekaniif isa qabuu barbaadan. Garuu namoota sana sodaatan; kanaafuu isa dhiisanii qajeelan.
After this his enemies were eager to arrest him, but they were afraid of the crowd; for they saw that it was at them that he had aimed the parable. So they left him alone, and went away.
13 Ergasii waan inni dubbatuun isa qabuuf jedhanii Fariisotaa fi garee Heroodis keessaa jara tokko Yesuusitti ergan.
Afterward they sent to Jesus some of the Pharisees and Herodians, to set a trap for him in the course of conversation.
14 Isaanis gara isaa dhufanii akkana jedhaniin; “Yaa barsiisaa, akka ati nama dhugaa taate beekna. Ati waan fuula namaa hin ilaalleef namni kam iyyuu karaa irraa si hin jalʼisuutii; garuu ati dhugaadhaan karaa Waaqaa barsiifta. Qeesaariif gibira baasuun eeyyamameera moo hin eeyyamamne?
These men came to him and said, “Teacher, we know that you are an honest man, and are not afraid of anyone, for you pay no regard to a person’s position, but teach the way of God honestly; are we right in paying taxes to the Emperor, or not?
15 Haa baasnu moo haa dhiifnuu?” Yesuus garuu fakkeessitummaa isaanii beekee, “Isin maaliif na qortu? Mee diinaariitokko natti fidaa nan ilaalaa” jedheen.
Should we pay, or should we not pay?” Knowing their hypocrisy, Jesus said to them, “Why are you testing me? Bring me a coin to look at.”
16 Isaanis diinaarii tokko isatti fidan; innis, “Fakkiin kun kan eenyuu ti? Katabbiin kunis kan eenyuu ti?” jedhee isaan gaafate. Isaanis, “Kan Qeesaari” jedhanii deebisan.
And, when they had brought it, he asked, “Whose head and title are these?” “The Emperor’s,” they said;
17 Kana irratti Yesuus, “Kan Qeesaar Qeesaariif, kan Waaqaa immoo Waaqaaf kennaa” jedheen. Isaanis isa dinqifatan.
and Jesus replied, “Pay to the Emperor what belongs to the Emperor, and to God what belongs to God.” And they were amazed at him.
18 Ergasii Saduuqonni, duʼaa kaʼuun hin jiru jedhan gara Yesuus dhufanii akkana jedhanii gaaffii tokko isa gaafatan;
Next came some Sadducees – the men who maintain that there is no resurrection. Their question was this –
19 “Yaa barsiisaa yoo obboleessi nama tokkoo niitii fuudhee utuu ijoollee hin dhalchin niitii isaa irraa duʼe, obboleessi isaa niitii sana dhaalee obboleessa isaatiif sanyii haa dhaabuu jedhee Museen nuu barreesseera.
“Teacher, in our scriptures Moses decreed that, should a man’s brother die, leaving a widow but no child, the man should take the widow as his wife, and raise up a family for his brother.
20 Kunoo obboloota torbatu ture. Inni jalqabaa niitii fuudhee utuu ijoollee hin dhalchin duʼe.
There were once seven brothers. The eldest married, but died and left no family;
21 Inni lammaffaanis ishee fuudhee utuu ijoollee hin dhalchin duʼe. Inni sadaffaanis akkasuma taʼe.
and the second married his widow, and died without family; and so did the third.
22 Torban isaanii iyyuu ijoollee hin dhalchine. Dhuma irratti dubartittiinis ni duute.
All the seven died and left no family. The woman herself died last of all.
23 Guyyaa duʼaa kaʼuutti isheen niitii isa kamii taati? Torban isaanii iyyuu ishee fuudhaniiruutii.”
At the resurrection whose wife will she be, all seven brothers having had her as their wife?”
24 Yesuus immoo akkana jedhee deebise; “Isin waan Katabbiiwwan Qulqulluu yookaan humna Waaqaa hin beekneef dogoggortu mitii?
“Is not the reason of your mistake,” answered Jesus, “your ignorance of the scriptures and of the power of God?
25 Warri duʼan yommuu duʼaa kaʼanitti akka ergamoota samii taʼu malee hin fuudhan; hin heerumanis.
When people rise from the dead, there is no marrying or being married; but they are as angels in heaven.
26 Waaʼee warri duʼan duʼaa kaʼuu garuu akka Waaqni Kitaaba Musee keessatti, daggala bobaʼu biratti, ‘Ani Waaqa Abrahaam, Waaqa Yisihaaqii fi Waaqa Yaaqoob’jedhee isatti dubbate isin hin dubbifnee?
“As to the dead, and the fact that they rise, have you never read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the Bush, how God spoke to him saying – ‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?
27 Inni Waaqa warra jiraataniiti malee Waaqa warra duʼanii miti. Isin akka malee dogoggortaniirtu!”
He is not God of dead people, but of living. You are greatly mistaken.”
28 Barsiistota seeraa keessaa inni tokko dhufee wal falmuu isaanii dhagaʼe. Innis akka Yesuus deebii gaarii isaaniif kenne hubatee, “Ajajni ajajawwan hunda caalu isa kami?” jedhee isa gaafate.
Then came up one of the teachers of the Law who had heard their discussions. Knowing that Jesus had answered them wisely, he asked him this question, “Which commandment is the most important of all?”
29 Yesuusis akkana jedhee deebise; “Ajajni ajajawwan hunda caalu isa kana; ‘Yaa Israaʼel dhagaʼi! Waaqayyo Gooftaan keenya Gooftaa tokkicha.
“The most important,” answered Jesus, “is – ‘Hear, Israel; the Lord our God is the one Lord;
30 Waaqa kee Goofticha garaa kee guutuudhaan, lubbuu kee guutuudhaan, yaada kee guutuudhaan, humna kee guutuudhaan jaalladhu.’
and you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’
31 Inni lammaffaan immoo, isa kana; ‘Ollaa kee akkuma ofii keetiitti jaalladhu.’Ajajni ajajawwan kanneen caalu tokko iyyuu hin jiru.”
The second is this – ‘You must love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
32 Barsiisaan seeraa sunis akkana jedhee deebise; “Yaa barsiisaa, ati dhugaa jette; Waaqa tokkicha malee Waaqni biraa hin jiruutii.
“Wisely answered, teacher!” exclaimed the teacher of the Law. “It is true, as you say, that there is one God, and that there is no other besides him;
33 Garaa kee guutuudhaan, yaada kee guutuudhaan, humna kee guutuudhaan isa jaallachuun, ollaa kees akkuma ofii keetiitti jaallachuun, qalma gubamuu fi aarsaa hunda caala.”
and to love him with all one’s heart, and with all one’s understanding, and with all one’s strength, and to love one’s neighbor as one loves oneself is far beyond all burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
34 Yesuusis yommuu akka inni hubannaadhaan deebise argetti, “Ati mootummaa Waaqaa irraa fagoo hin jirtu” jedheen. Ergasii namni tokko iyyuu deebiʼee gaaffii isa gaafachuuf ija hin jabaanne.
Seeing that he had answered with discernment, Jesus said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” After that no one ventured to question him further.
35 Yesuus utuu mana qulqullummaa keessatti barsiisaa jiruu akkana jedhee gaafate; “Barsiistonni seeraa maaliif Kiristoos ilma Daawit jedhu?
While Jesus was teaching in the Temple Courts, he asked, “How is it that the teachers of the Law say that the Christ is to be David’s son?
36 Daawit mataan isaa iyyuu Hafuura Qulqulluudhaan geggeeffamee akkana jedhe: “‘Gooftichi Gooftaa kootiin, “Hamma ani diinota kee, miilla kee jala siif galchutti, gara mirga koo taaʼi.”’
David said himself, speaking under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit – ‘The Lord said to my lord: Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies beneath your feet.’
37 Daawit mataan isaa iyyuu ‘Gooftaa’ jedhee isa waama. Yoos inni akkamitti ilma isaa taʼuu dandaʼa ree?” Tuunni guddaan sunis gammachuudhaan isa dhagaʼe.
David himself calls him ‘lord,’ how comes it, then, that he is to be his son?” The mass of the people listened to Jesus with delight.
38 Yesuusis utuu barsiisuu akkana jedhe; “Barsiistota seeraa irraa of eeggadhaa. Isaan uffata dhedheeraa uffatanii nanaannaʼuu fi gabaa keessattis nagaa gaafatamuu jaallatu;
In the course of his teaching, Jesus said, “See that you are on your guard against the teachers of the Law, who delight to walk about in long robes, and to be greeted in the streets with respect,
39 manneen sagadaa keessatti taaʼumsa ulfinaa, lafa cidhaatti immoo iddoo ulfinaa jaallatu.
and to have the best seats in the synagogues, and places of honor at dinner.
40 Isaanis mana haadha hiyyeessaa saamanii onsu; of argisiisuuf jedhaniis kadhannaa dheeressu. Namoonni kunneen adaba guddaa adabamu.”
They are the men who rob widows of their homes, and make a pretense of saying long prayers. Their sentence will be all the heavier.”
41 Yesuusis fuullee iddoo kennaan kaaʼamuu taaʼee namoota maallaqa isaanii miʼa buusii keessa buusan ilaala ture. Sooreyyiin baayʼeenis maallaqa baayʼee miʼa sana keessa buusaa turan.
Then Jesus sat down opposite the chests for the Temple offerings, and watched how the people put money into them. Many rich people were putting in large sums;
42 Haati hiyyeessaa hiyyeettiin tokko dhuftee saantima sibiila diimaa xixinnoo lama kan gatiin isaa gara saantima tokkoo taʼe miʼa sana keessa buufte.
but one poor widow came and put in two small coins, worth very little.
43 Yesuusis barattoota isaa ofitti waamee akkana jedhe; “Ani dhuguman isinitti hima; haati hiyyeessaa hiyyeettiin kun warra miʼa buusii kana keessa kennaa buusan hunda caalaa buufteerti.
Then, calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “I tell you that this poor widow has put in more than all the others who were putting money into the chests;
44 Isaan hundi qabeenya isaanii irraa kennan; isheen garuu hiyyuma ishee keessaa waan hunda, waan ittiin jiraattu hunda kennite.”
for everyone else put in something from what he had to spare, while she, in her need, put in all she had – everything that she had to live on.”
