< Luqaas 6 >

1 Guyyaa Sanbataa tokko Yesuus lafa qotiisaa midhaanii keessa darbaa ture; barattoonni isaas asheetii midhaanii ciratanii harka isaaniitiin sukkuummatanii nyaachuu jalqaban.
Now it happened on a second-first Sabbath that He was passing through the grain fields, and His disciples began to pick and eat the heads of grain, rubbing them in their hands.
2 Fariisota keessaas tokko tokko, “Isin maaliif waan Sanbataan hojjechuun hin eeyyamamne hojjettu?” jedhanii gaafatan.
But some of the Pharisees said to them, “Why are you doing that which is not lawful to do on the Sabbath?”
3 Yesuusis akkana jedhee deebiseef; “Isin waan Daawit yeroo innii fi miiltonni isaa beelaʼanitti godhe sana takkumaa hin dubbifnee?
So in answer to them Jesus said: “Have you not even read this, what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him:
4 Inni mana Waaqaa seenee buddeena qulqulleeffamekan luboota qofaaf eeyyamame fudhatee nyaate. Warra isa wajjin jiraniifis kenne.”
how he went into the house of God, took and ate the showbread, and even gave it to those with him—that which only the priests are allowed to eat?”
5 Yesuusis, “Ilmi Namaa Gooftaa Sanbataa ti” isaaniin jedhe.
Then He said to them, “The Son of the Man is Lord even of the Sabbath!”
6 Sanbata biraas inni mana sagadaa seenee barsiisaa ture; namichi harki isaa mirgaa irratti goge tokkos achi ture.
Now it happened on a different Sabbath that He entered the synagogue and began to teach. Well there was a man there whose right hand was shriveled;
7 Fariisonnii fi barsiistonni seeraa Yesuusin himachuuf jedhanii sababa barbaadaa turan; kanaafuu akka inni Sanbataan nama fayyisu ilaaluuf isa gaadan.
so the scribes and the Pharisees started watching, to see if He would heal on the Sabbath, so that they might find an accusation against Him.
8 Yesuus garuu waan isaan yaadan beekee namicha harki irratti goge sanaan, “Kaʼii fuula nama hundaa dura dhaabadhu” jedhe. Innis kaʼee achi dhaabate.
But He knew their thoughts and said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Get up and stand in the center.” So he got up and stood.
9 Yesuusis, “Anis isinan gaafadha; Sanbataan isa kamtu eeyyamamaa dha? Waan gaarii hojjechuu moo waan hamaa hojjechuu? Lubbuu oolchuu moo balleessuu?” isaaniin jedhe.
Then Jesus said to them: “I will ask you something: Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?”
10 Gara galees hunda isaanii ilaalee namichaan, “Harka kee diriirfadhu” jedhe. Innis akkasuma godhe; harki isaas guutumaan guutuutti fayye.
And when He had looked around at them all, He said to him, “Stretch out your hand!” So he did that, and his hand was restored, as sound as the other.
11 Fariisonnii fi barsiistonni seeraa garuu akka malee aaranii Yesuusin maal gochuu akka dandaʼan waliin mariʼachuu jalqaban.
But they were filled with rage, and began to discuss with one another what they might do to Jesus.
12 Yesuusis guyyoota sana keessaa gaaf tokko kadhannaadhaaf tulluutti ol baʼe; halkan guutuus Waaqa kadhachaa bule.
Now it happened in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and He continued all night in prayer to God.
13 Innis yommuu lafti bariʼetti barattoota isaa ofitti waamee nama kudha lama isaan keessaa filate; ergamoota jedhees isaan moggaase.
When it was day He called His disciples, and from them He chose twelve, whom He also named apostles:
14 Isaanis Simoon isa inni Phexros jedhee moggaase, obboleessa isaa Indiriiyaas, Yaaqoob, Yohannis, Fiiliphoos, Bartaloomewoos,
Simon (whom He also named Peter) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Phillip and Bartholomew,
15 Maatewos, Toomaas, Yaaqoob ilma Alfewoos, Simoon isa Hinaafticha jedhamee waamame,
Matthew and Thomas, James (the son of Alphaeus) and Simon (the one called ‘Zealot’),
16 Yihuudaa ilma Yaaqoob, Yihuudaa Keeriyoticha isa Yesuusin dabarsee kenne.
Judas of James and Judas Iscariot (who also became ‘traitor’).
17 Innis isaan wajjin gad buʼee iddoo diriiraa tokko irra dhaabate. Tuunni barattoota isaa guddaanis achi ture; namoonni Yihuudaa hunda keessaa, Yerusaalem keessaa, biyya qarqara galaanaa kan naannoo Xiiroosii fi Siidoonaatii dhufan baayʼeen,
Then He came down with them and stood on a level place, with a crowd of His disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem, also from the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him and to be healed of their diseases,
18 warri isa dhagaʼuu fi dhukkuba isaanii irraa fayyuuf dhufanis achi turan. Warri hafuurota xuraaʼoon dhiphachaa turanis ni fayyan;
as well as those who were being harassed by unclean spirits—and they were being healed!
19 sababii humni isa keessaa baʼee hunduma isaanii fayyisaa tureef, namoonni hundinuu isa tuquuf carraaqaa turan.
So the whole crowd kept trying to touch Him, because power was going out from Him and was healing all.
20 Innis barattoota isaa ilaalee akkana jedhe: “Isin warri hiyyeeyyiin eebbifamoo dha; mootummaan Waaqaa kan keessaniitii.
Then He raised His eyes toward His disciples and said: “Blessed are you poor, because the Kingdom of God is yours.
21 Isin warri amma beeloftan eebbifamoo dha; ni quuftuutii. Isin warri amma boossan eebbifamoo dha; ni kolfituutii.
Blessed are you who hunger now, because you will be filled. Blessed are you who weep now, because you will laugh.
22 Yommuu namoonni sababii Ilma Namaatiif jedhanii isin jibban, yommuu isaan of keessaa isin baasanii fi isin arrabsan, yommuu isaan maqaa keessan akka waan hamaa tokkootti tuffatan, isin eebbifamoo dha.
Blessed are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and heap insults on you and trash your name as ‘malignant’, for the Son of the Man's sake.
23 “Sababii gatiin keessan samii keessatti guddaa taʼeef gaafa sana ililchaatii gammachuudhaan buburraaqaa. Abbootiin isaanii iyyuu akkasuma raajota godhaniitii.
Rejoice in that day and skip about! Because your reward really is great in Heaven; for that is how their fathers treated the prophets.
24 “Garuu warri sooreyyiin isiniif wayyoo; isin jajjabina keessan argattaniirtuutii.
“But woe to you who are rich! because you have already received your comfort.
25 Warri amma quuftan isiniif wayyoo, beelaʼuuf jirtuutii, warri amma kolfitan isiniif wayyoo; wawwaachuu fi booʼuuf jirtuutii.
Woe to you who are full! because you will go hungry. Woe to you who are presently laughing! because you will mourn and weep.
26 Yommuu namni hundinuu isin saadu isiniif wayyoo; abbootiin isaanii iyyuu akkanuma raajota sobaa saadaa turaniitii.
Woe, when all men speak well of you; for that is how their fathers treated the false prophets!
27 “Ani garuu isin warra na dhageessanitti nan hima; diinota keessan jaalladhaa; warra isin jibbaniif waan gaarii hojjedhaa;
“Further, to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you;
28 warra isin abaaran eebbisaa; warra isin miidhaniifis kadhadhaa.
bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
29 Yoo namni tokko maddii tokko si kabale, maddii kaanis itti qabi. Yoo namni tokko kootii kee sirraa baafate immoo, kittaa kee illee hin dhowwatin.
To him who strikes you on the cheek, offer also the other; and from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold the tunic as well.
30 Nama si kadhatu hundumaaf kenni; yoo namni kam iyyuu waan kan kee taʼe fudhate, akka wanni sun siif deebifamu hin gaafatin.
Give to everyone who asks of you; and from him who takes away your things, do not demand them back.
31 Isinis akkuma namoonni kaan akka isiniif godhan barbaaddan sana isaaniif godhaa.
Yes, like you want people to treat you, that is just how you must treat them.
32 “Isin warra isin jaallatan qofa yoo jaallattan, kun galata maalii isinii qaba? Cubbamoonni iyyuu warra isaan jaallatan ni jaallatuutii.
Also, if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ love those who love them.
33 Isin yoo warra waan gaarii isinii godhaniif waan gaarii gootan, kun galata maalii isiniif qaba? Kana immoo cubbamoonni iyyuu ni godhuutii.
And if you do good to those doing good to you, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ do the same.
34 Warruma akka isiniif deebisan abdattaniif yoo liqeessitan galata maalii argattu? ‘Cubbamoonni iyyuu’ hammuma liqeessan sana deebisanii argachuuf jedhanii cubbamootaaf ni liqeessuutii.
And if you lend to those from whom you expect to get it back, what credit is that to you? Even ‘sinners’ lend to ‘sinners’, to receive an equal value back.
35 Isin garuu diinota keessan jaalladhaa; waan gaariis isaaniif hojjedhaa; utuu waan isinii deebiʼu tokko illee hin abdatin isaaniif liqeessaa. Yoos gatiin keessan guddaa ni taʼa; isinis ijoollee Waaqa Waan Hundaa Olii ni taatu; inni warra hin galateeffannee fi hamootaaf illee arjaadhaatii.
“So, love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; because He is kind toward the ungrateful and wicked.
36 Akkuma abbaan keessan araara qabeessa taʼe sana, isinis araara qabeeyyii taʼaa.
So be compassionate, even as your Father is compassionate.
37 “Namatti hin murinaa; isinittis hin muramuutii. Nama hin yakkinaa; isinis hin yakkamtanii. Dhiifamas godhaa; dhiifamni isinii godhamaatii.
“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
38 Kennaa; isiniifis ni kennamaa. Safartuun gaariin itti hudumame, kan sochoofamee fi guutamee irra dhangalaʼe bobaa keessanitti isinii naqama. Safartuu ittiin safartaniinis isiniif safaramaatii.”
Give and it will be given to you: a good measure—pressed down and shaken together and running over—will they deposit in your lap. Because with the same measure that you use it will be measured back to you.”
39 Innis akkana jedhee fakkeenya kana isaanitti hime; “Jaamaan tokko jaamaa qajeelchuu ni dandaʼaa? Isaan lachuu boolla keessa hin buʼanii?
Then He told them a parable: “Can a blind man guide a blind man? Will they not both fall into a ditch?
40 Barataan barsiisaa isaatii ol miti; namni guutumaan guutuutti leenjifame hundinuu garuu akka barsiisaa isaa ni taʼa.
A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher.
41 “Ati maaliif jirma ija kee keessa jiru arguu dhiiftee huuba ija obboleessa keetii keessa jiru ilaalta?
Why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank that is in your own eye?
42 Ati utuu ofii keetii jirma ija kee keessa jiru arguu hin dandaʼin, akkamitti obboleessa keetiin, ‘Obboleessaa, kottu mee ani huuba ija kee keessa jiru siif nan baasa’ jechuu dandeessa? Fakkeessituu nana, duraan dursiitii jirma ija kee keessa jiru baafadhu; ergasiis huuba ija obboleessa keetii keessa jiru baasuudhaaf sirriitti argita.
Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother's eye.
43 “Mukni gaariin ija gadhee naqatu tokko iyyuu hin jiru; mukni gadheenis ija gaarii hin naqatu.
“Now no good tree produces rotten fruit, nor does a rotten tree produce good fruit
44 Tokkoon tokkoon mukaa ija isaatiin beekama. Namoonni muka qoraattii irraa harbuu, yookaan sokorruu irraa wayinii hin ciran.
—each tree is known by its own fruit: people do not gather figs from thorn bushes, nor do they pick a bunch of grapes from a bramble.
45 Namni gaariin waan gaarii garaa isaa keessatti kuufate keessaa waan gaarii baasa; namni hamaan immoo waan hamaa garaa isaa keessatti kuufate keessaa waan hamaa baasa. Waan garaa guute afaan dubbataatii.
The good man produces the good out of the good treasure in his heart, and the malignant man produces the malignant out of the malignant treasure in his heart; because his mouth speaks out of the abundance of the heart.
46 “Isin waan ani jedhu hin hojjettan; yoos maaliif, ‘Yaa Gooftaa, yaa Gooftaa’ naan jettu?
“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord’, and not do what I say?
47 Namni gara koo dhufu, kan dubbii koo dhagaʼee hojiidhaan argisiisu hundi maal akka fakkaatu ani isinitti nan argisiisa.
Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them—I will show you who he is like:
48 Isaan nama mana ijaaru, kan boolla gad fageessee qotee hundee mana sanaa kattaa irra dhaabe tokko fakkaatu. Sababii manichi sirriitti ijaarameef, lolaan yeroo lolaʼee humnaan itti buʼetti mana sana sochoosuu hin dandeenye.
he is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on the bedrock. When a flood occurred, the torrent burst upon that house but could not shake it, because it was founded on the bedrock.
49 Namni dubbii koo dhagaʼee hojiidhaan hin argisiifne garuu nama lafa irratti mana hundee hin qabne ijaarratu tokko fakkaata. Yeroo lolaan humnaan itti buʼetti manni sun ni jige; guutumaan guutuuttis diigame.”
But he who heard and did nothing is like a man who built his house on the ground without a foundation, against which the torrent burst, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.”
