< Luqaas 24 >
1 Guyyaa jalqaba torban sanaa ganama barii, dubartoonni sun urgooftuu qopheessan sana fudhatanii gara awwaalaa dhaqan.
But very early on the first day of the week they went to the tomb, taking with them the spices that they had prepared.
2 Isaanis dhagaa sana balbala awwaalaa irraa gara galfamee argan;
They found that the stone had been rolled away from the tomb;
3 yommuu seenanitti garuu reeffa Gooftaa Yesuus hin arganne.
and, on going into it, they could not find the body.
4 Utuma isaan waaʼee kanaa dinqisiifachaa jiranuu, namoonni uffata caccalaqqisaa uffatan lama isaan bira dhadhaabatan.
While they were at a loss to account for this, all at once two men stood beside them, in dazzling clothing.
5 Dubartoonni sunis sodaatanii mataa buusanii lafa ilaalan; namoonni sun garuu akkana isaaniin jedhan; “Isin maaliif warra duʼan keessa isa jiraataa barbaaddu?
But, when in their fear the women bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, ‘Why are you looking among the dead for him who is living?
6 Inni as hin jiru; kaʼeera! Waan inni yeroo isin wajjin Galiilaa turetti isinitti hime sana yaadadhaa.
Remember how he spoke to you before he left Galilee –
7 ‘Ilmi Namaa dabarfamee harka cubbamootaatti ni kennama; ni fannifama; guyyaa sadaffaatti immoo ni kaafama’ jedhee tureetii.”
How he said that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of wicked men, and be crucified, and rise again on the third day.’
8 Dubartoonnis dubbii isaa yaadatan.
Then they remembered the words of Jesus,
9 Isaanis yommuu iddoo awwaalaatii deebiʼanitti waan kana hunda barattoota kudha tokkottii fi namoota hafan hundatti himan.
and, on returning from the tomb, they told all this to the Eleven and to all the rest.
10 Warri waan kana ergamootatti himanis Maariyaam ishee Magdalaa, Yohaanaa, Maariyaam haadha Yaaqoobii fi dubartoota biraa warra isaan wajjin turanii dha.
There were Mary of Magdala, and Joanna, and Mary, the mother of James. The other women, too, spoke about this to the apostles.
11 Isaan garuu sababii dubbichi oduu sobaa itti fakkaateef dubartoota sana hin amanne.
What they said seemed to the apostles mere nonsense, and they did not believe them.
12 Taʼus Phexros kaʼee gara awwaala sanaatti fiige. Yommuu gad jedhee ilaalettis huccuu quncee talbaa irraa hojjetame qofa arge; innis waan arge sana dinqifachaa deebiʼe.
13 Guyyuma sana isaan keessaa namoonni lama ganda Emaaʼuus jedhamu dhaqaa turan; Emaaʼuusis Yerusaalem irraa gara kiiloo meetira kudha tokkoo fagaata.
It happened that very day that two of the disciples were going to a village called Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem,
14 Isaanis waaʼee waan taʼe sana hundaa walitti dudubbachaa turan.
talking together, as they went, about all that had just taken place.
15 Utuma isaan walitti dudubbachaa fi wajjin haasaʼaa jiranuus Yesuus mataan isaa itti dhiʼaatee isaan wajjin deemuu jalqabe.
While they were talking about these things and discussing them, Jesus himself came up and went on their way with them;
16 Garuu akka isaan isa hin hubanneef iji isaanii qabamee ture.
but their eyes were blinded so that they could not recognise him.
17 Innis, “Wanni isin dudubbachaa deemtan kun maali?” jedhee isaan gaafate. Isaanis gaddanii achuma dhadhaabatan.
‘What is this that you are saying to each other as you walk along?’ Jesus asked. They stopped, with sad looks on their faces,
18 Isaan keessaa namichi Qileyoophaa jedhamu tokko immoo deebisee, “Waan gidduu kana achitti taʼe kan hin beekne ati Yerusaalemiif keessummaadhaa?” jedheen.
and then one of them, whose name was Cleopas, said to Jesus, ‘Are you staying by yourself at Jerusalem, that you have not heard of the things that have happened there within the last few days?’
19 Innis, “Maal faatu taʼe?” jedhee gaafate. Isaanis deebisanii akkana jedhan, “Waaʼee Yesuus nama Naazreeti; inni raajii ture; fuula Waaqaatii fi fuula nama hundaa durattis dubbii fi hojiidhaan jabaa ture.
‘What things do you mean?’ asked Jesus. ‘Why, about Jesus of Nazareth,’ they answered, ‘who, in the eyes of God and all the people, was a prophet, whose power was felt in both his words and actions;
20 Luboonni hangafoonnii fi bulchitoonni keenya akka duuti itti muramuuf dabarsanii isa kennan; isa fannisanis.
and how the chief priests and our leading men gave him up to be sentenced to death, and afterwards crucified him.
21 Nu garuu namni Israaʼelin furu isa jennee abdannee turre. Kana irratti immoo erga wanni kun hundi taʼee harʼa guyyaa sadaffaa dha.
But we were hoping that he was the Destined Deliverer of Israel; yes, and besides all this, it is now three days since these things occurred.
22 Akkasumas dubartoota keenya keessaa tokko tokko nu dinqisiisaniiru; isaanis barii barraaqaan gara awwaala sanaa dhaqanii,
And what is more, some of the women among us have greatly astonished us. They went to the tomb at daybreak
23 reeffa isaa achii dhaban. Dubartoonni sunis deebiʼanii akka ergamoonni isaanitti mulʼatanii, Yesuus jiraataa taʼuu isaa isaanitti himan nutti odeessan.
And, not finding the body of Jesus there, came and told us that they had seen a vision of angels who told them that he was alive.
24 Warra nu wajjin turan keessaas namoonni tokko tokko gara awwaalaa dhaqanii akka wanni sun akkuma dubartoonni nutti odeessan sana taʼe argan; isa garuu hin argine.”
So some of our number went to the tomb and found everything just as the women had said, but they did not see Jesus.’
25 Innis akkana isaaniin jedhe; “Isin yaa warra hin hubannee fi warra waan raajonni dubbatan hunda amanuuttis mataa jabaattan!
Then Jesus said to them, ‘Foolish men, slow to accept all that the prophets have said!
26 Kiristooswaan kana hundaan dhiphatee ergasii immoo ulfina isaatti galuu hin qabu turee?”
Was not the Christ bound to undergo this suffering before entering into his glory?’
27 Innis Musee fi raajota hunda irraa jalqabee waan Katabbiiwwan Qulqulluu hunda keessatti waaʼee isaa dubbatame isaaniif ibse.
Then, beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he explained to them all through the scriptures the passages that referred to himself.
28 Yommuu ganda dhaqaa turan sanatti dhiʼaatanittis Yesuus waan darbee deemu of fakkeesse.
When they got near the village to which they were walking, Jesus appeared to be going further;
29 Isaan garuu, “Sababii galgalaaʼuu gaʼee fi dukkanaaʼaa jiruuf, nu bira buli” jedhanii jabeessanii isa kadhatan. Innis isaan bira buluuf gore.
but they pressed him not to do so. ‘Stay with us,’ they said, ‘for it is getting towards evening, and the sun is already low.’ So Jesus went in to stay with them.
30 Innis yommuu isaan wajjin maaddiitti dhiʼaatetti buddeena fuudhee, eebbisee, caccabsees isaaniif kenne.
After he had taken his place at the table with them, he took the bread and said the blessing, and broke it, and gave it to them.
31 Iji isaanii ni baname; isas ni beekan; innis ija isaanii duraa dhokate.
Then their eyes were opened and they recognised him; but he disappeared from their sight.
32 Isaanis, “Yeroo inni karaatti nu wajjin dubbachaa turee fi yeroo inni Katabbiiwwan Qulqulluu nuu ibsaa ture sana, garaan keenya nu keessatti bobaʼaa hin turree?” jedhanii wal gaafatan.
‘How our hearts glowed,’ the disciples said to each other, ‘while he was talking to us on the road, and when he explained the scriptures to us!’
33 Yeruma sanas kaʼanii Yerusaalemitti deebiʼan; achitti immoo barattoota kudha tokkoo fi namoota isaan wajjin turan sana walitti qabamanii argan.
Then they immediately got up and returned to Jerusalem, where they found the Eleven and their companions all together,
34 Warri walitti qabaman sunis, “Dhugumaan Gooftaan duʼaa kaʼeera; Simoonittis mulʼateera” jechaa turan.
who told them that the Master had really risen, and had appeared to Simon.
35 Namoonni lamaan sunis waan karaa irratti taʼe hundumaa fi yeroo Yesuus buddeena caccabse sana akkamitti akka isa beekan odeessan.
So they also related what had happened during their walk, and how they had recognised Jesus at the breaking of the bread.
36 Utuu isaan waan kana dudubbachaa jiranuu, Yesuus mataan isaa isaan gidduu dhaabatee, “Nagaan isiniif haa taʼu” jedheen.
While they were still talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them.
37 Isaan garuu waan ekeraa argan seʼanii naʼan; ni sodaatanis.
In their terror and alarm they thought they saw a ghost,
38 Innis akkana isaaniin jedhe; “Maaliif sodaattu? Mamiinis maaliif garaa keessan keessatti uumama?
but Jesus said to them, ‘Why are you so startled? And why do doubts arise in your minds?
39 Akka anuma mataa koo taʼe mee harka koo fi miilla koo ilaalaa! Qaqqabadhaatii na ilaalaa; ekeraan foonii fi lafee hin qabu; ani garuu akkuma isin argitan kana foonii fi lafee qaba.”
Look at my hands and my feet, and you will know that it is I. Feel me, and look at me, for a ghost has not flesh and bones, as you see that I have.’
40 Innis waan kana dubbatee harka isaatii fi miilla isaa isaanitti argisiise.
41 Utuma isaan sababii gammachuutii fi sababii dinqifannaatiif amma illee hin amanin, “Isin waan nyaatamu asii qabduu?” jedhee isaan gaafate.
While they were still unable to believe it all, overcome with joy, and were wondering if it were true, Jesus said to them, ‘Have you anything here to eat?’
42 Isaanis qurxummii waadame kennaniif;
They handed him a piece of broiled fish,
43 innis fudhatee fuuluma isaanii duratti nyaate.
and he took it and ate it before their eyes.
44 Innis, “Yeroo ani isin bira turetti, ‘Wanni seera Musee keessatti, kitaabota raajotaatii fi kitaaba faarfannaa keessatti waaʼee koo barreeffame hundi raawwatamuu qaba’ jedhee isinitti hime sun isa kana” jedheen.
‘This is what I told you,’ he said, ‘when I was still with you – that everything that had been written about me in the Law of Moses, the prophets, and the Psalms, must be fulfilled.’
45 Innis akka isaan Katabbiiwwan Qulqulluu hubataniif qalbii isaanii baneef.
Then he enabled them to understand the meaning of the scriptures, saying to them,
46 Akkanas isaaniin jedhe; “Wanni barreeffame akkana jedha; ‘Kiristoos ni dhiphata; guyyaa sadaffaatti immoo warra duʼan keessaa ni kaʼa;
‘Scripture says that the Christ will suffer, and that he will rise again from the dead on the third day,
47 maqaa isaatiinis qalbii jijjiirrachuunii fi dhiifamni cubbuu Yerusaalemii jalqabee saba hundatti ni lallabama.’
and that repentance for forgiveness of sins will be proclaimed on his authority to all the nations – beginning at Jerusalem.
48 Isinis dhuga baatota waan kanaa ti.
You yourselves are to be witnesses to all this.
49 Kunoo ani waan Abbaan koo waadaa isinii gale sana isiniif nan erga; isin garuu hamma olii humna uffattanitti magaalaa Yerusaalem keessa turaa.”
And now I am myself about to send you that which my Father has promised. But you must remain in the city until you have been invested with power from above.’
50 Innis achii baasee hamma Biitaaniyaatti isaan geesse; harka isaa lamaanis ol kaafatee isaan eebbise.
After this, Jesus led them out as far as Bethany, and there raised his hands and blessed them.
51 Utuma isaan eebbisaa jiruus isaan dhiisee samiitti ol fudhatame.
As he was in the act of blessing them, he left them.
52 Isaanis isaaf sagadanii gammachuu guddaadhaan Yerusaalemitti deebiʼan.
They returned to Jerusalem full of joy;
53 Yeroo hundas mana qulqullummaa keessatti Waaqa galateeffachaa turan.
and they were constantly in the Temple Courts, blessing God.
