Luqaas 22
1 Yeroo sana Ayyaanni Maxinoo kan Faasiikaa jedhamu dhiʼaate ture;
Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the passover.
2 luboonni hangafoonnii fi barsiistonni seeraa waan namoota sodaataniif, mala ittiin Yesuusin ajjeesan barbaadaa turan.
And the chief priests and scribes were consulting how they might put Him to death; for they were afraid of the people.
3 Ergasiis seexanni namicha Yihuudaa Keeriyoticha jedhamu kan jara Kudha Lamaan keessaa tokko ture sanatti gale.
Then entred Satan into Judas who was surnamed Iscariot, one of the twelve.
4 Yihuudaanis gara luboota hangafootaatii fi ajajjoota waardiyyaa mana qulqullummaa dhaqee haala ittiin Yesuusin dabarsee kennu irratti isaan wajjin mariʼate.
And he went and conferred with the chief priests and the captains, how he might betray Him unto them.
5 Isaanis gammadanii maallaqa isaaf kennuuf walii galan.
And they were glad and agreed to give him money:
6 Innis tole jedhee yeroo namoonni hin jirretti Yesuusin dabarsee isaanitti kennuudhaaf haala mijaaʼaa eeggachaa ture.
and he accepted the terms, and sought an opportunity to betray Him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
7 Guyyaan Ayyaana Maxinoo kan hoolaan Faasiikaa itti qalamuu qabu gaʼee ture.
The day of unleavened bread being come, on which the paschal-lamb was to be slain,
8 Yesuusis, “Akka Faasiikaa nyaannuuf dhaqaatii nuu qopheessaa” jedhee Phexrosii fi Yohannisin erge.
Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare the passover for us, that we may eat of it.
9 Isaanis, “Akka nu eessatti qopheessinu barbaadda?” jedhanii isa gaafatan.
And they said unto Him, Where wouldst thou have us prepare it?
10 Inni immoo deebisee akkana jedhe; “Akkuma isin magaalaa seentaniin, namichi okkotee bishaanii baatu tokko isinitti dhufa. Gara mana inni seenuutti isa duukaa buʼaatii,
And He said unto them, Behold, when ye are come into the city, there shall meet you a man, carrying a pitcher of water, follow him into the house where he entreth:
11 abbaa mana sanaatiin, ‘Barsiisaan, “Manni keessummaa, iddoon ani itti barattoota koo wajjin Faasiikaa nyaadhu eessaa?” siin jedha’ jedhaa.
and say to the master of the house, Our Master inquireth by us, Where is the room, in which I may eat the passover with my disciples?
12 Abbaan manaa sunis darbii balʼaa miʼa manaatiin guutame tokko isinitti argisiisa. Isinis achitti qopheessaa.”
And he will shew you a large upper room set out; there make it ready.
13 Isaanis dhaqanii akkuma Yesuus isaanitti hime sanatti argatan. Faasiikaas ni qopheessan.
And they went and found as He had told them; and prepared the passover.
14 Yommuu saʼaatiin sun gaʼetti Yesuusii fi ergamoonni isaa maaddiitti dhiʼaatan.
And when the hour was come, He sat down and the twelve apostles with Him.
15 Innis akkana isaaniin jedhe; “Ani utuu hin dhiphatiniin dura isin wajjin Faasiikaa kana nyaachuu akka malee hawween ture.
And He said unto them, I have earnestly desired to eat of this passover with you before I suffer:
16 Ani isinittin himaatii; hamma Faasiikaan kun mootummaa Waaqaa keessatti raawwatamutti ani deebiʼee isa hin nyaadhu.”
for I say unto you, that I will not eat of it any more, till it be accomplished in the kingdom of God.
17 Innis erga xoofoo fuudhee galata galchee booddee akkana jedhe; “Kana fudhadhaatii gargar qooddadhaa.
And taking the cup He gave thanks and said, Take this and distribute it among yourselves.
18 Ani isinitti nan himaatii; ani hamma mootummaan Waaqaa dhufutti ija wayinii kana irraa deebiʼee hin dhugu” jedhe.
For I tell you, that I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine, till the kingdom of God shall come.
19 Innis buddeena fuudhee galata galchee, caccabsee isaaniif kennee, “Kun foon koo kan isiniif kennamuu dha; kanas yaadannoo kootiif godhadhaa” jedheen.
And He took bread, and gave thanks and brake it, and gave it to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me:
20 Akkasumas irbaata booddee xoofoo sana fuudhee akkana jedhe; “Xoofoon kun Kakuu Haaraa dhiiga koo kan isiniif dhangalaafamuun taʼuu dha.
as also the cup after supper, saying, This cup represents the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you.
21 Garuu harki namicha dabarsee na kennu sanaa kunoo harka koo wajjin maaddii irra jira.
And yet behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is at table with me:
22 Ilmi Namaa akkuma murteeffame sanatti ni deema. Garuu namicha dabarsee isa kennu sanaaf wayyoo!”
and the Son of man is going indeed as was determined; but wo to that man by whom He is betrayed.
23 Isaanis namni isaan keessaa waan kana gochuuf jiru eenyu akka taʼe wal gaggaafachuu jalqaban.
And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do it.
24 Akkasumas isaan keessaa namni akka nama nama hundumaa caaluutti ilaalamu eenyu akka taʼe irratti wal falmiin gidduu isaaniitti kaʼe.
And there was also a dispute among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest:
25 Yesuusis akkana isaaniin jedhe; “Mootonni Namoota Ormaa isaan irratti gooftummaa mulʼisu; warri isaan irratti taayitaa argisiisan immoo Gargaartota ofiin jedhu.
but He said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in authority are called benefactors.
26 Isin garuu akkas taʼuu hin qabdan. Qooda kanaa isin keessaa namni nama hunda caalu, akka quxisuu nama hundaa, bulchaan immoo akka tajaajilaa haa taʼu.
But ye shall not do so: but let the greatest among you be as the younger; and he that presides as he that serveth.
27 Eenyutu guddaa dha? Nama maaddiitti dhiʼaatu moo nama tajaajilu? Nama maaddiitti dhiʼaatu mitii? Ani garuu isin gidduutti akka tajaajilaa tokkoo ti.
For which is greater, he that sitteth at table, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at table? but I am among you as one that serveth.
28 Isin immoo warra yeroo qorama koo na wajjin turtanii dha.
Ye have continued with me in my temptations;
29 Akkuma Abbaan koo mootummaa natti kenne, anis akkasuma isinittin kenna;
and I appoint you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me:
30 kunis akka isin mootummaa koo keessatti maaddii koo irraa nyaattanii fi dhugdan, akka teessoowwan irra teessanii gosoota Israaʼel kudha lamaanitti murtaniif.
that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit upon thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
31 “Yaa Simoon, yaa Simoon; kunoo, Seexanni akkuma qamadiitti isin gingilchuuf kadhateera.
And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you my disciples, that he may sift you as wheat:
32 Yaa Simoon, ani garuu akka amantiin kee hin dadhabneef siif kadhadheera; atis yommuu deebitutti, obboloota kee jajjabeessi.”
but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith may not fail; and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
33 Simʼoon garuu deebisee, “Yaa Gooftaa, ani si wajjin hidhamuu fi duʼuuf illee qophaaʼeera” jedhe.
And he said unto Him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee both to prison and to death.
34 Yesuus, “Yaa Phexros, ani sittin hima; ati harʼa utuu indaanqoon hin iyyin akkuma na beektu illee yeroo sadii ni ganta” jedhee deebise.
But He replied, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before thou hast thrice denied that thou knowest me.
35 Yesuusis, “Yeroo ani borsaa, korojoo yookaan kophee malee isin erge sana waa isin duraa hirʼateeraa?” jedhee isaan gaafate. Isaanis deebisanii, “Wanni tokko iyyuu hin hirʼanne” jedhan.
And He said unto them, When I sent you forth without purse, or bag, or shoes, did ye want any thing? and they said, Nothing.
36 Inni immoo akkana isaaniin jedhe; “Amma garuu yoo borsaa qabaattan fudhadhaa; yoo korojoo qabaattanis fudhadhaa; yoo goraadee hin qabaannes uffata keessan gurguraatii goraadee bitadhaa.
Then said He unto them, But now let him, that hath a purse, take it, and his bag likewise; and let him that has no sword, sell his garment and buy one:
37 Wanni, ‘Inni yakkitootatti lakkaaʼame’jedhamee barreeffame sun akka narratti raawwatamuu qabu ani isinitti hima; wanni waaʼee koo barreeffame raawwatamuu gaʼeeraatii.”
for I tell you, that this which is written must yet be accomplished in me, "And He was numbered with transgressors," for the things foretold concerning me are near at an end.
38 Barattoonnis, “Yaa Gooftaa, kunoo goraadee lamatu as jira” jedhan. Innis, “Ni gaʼa” jedhee deebiseef.
And they said, Lord, behold here are two swords. And He said unto them, It is enough.
39 Yesuusis achii baʼee, akkuma amala isaa gara Tulluu Ejersaa dhaqe; barattoonni isaas isa duukaa buʼan.
And He came out and went, as He used to do, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed Him.
40 Innis akkuma iddoo sana gaʼeen, “Isin akka qorumsatti hin galleef kadhadhaa” isaaniin jedhe.
And when He was at the place, He said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
41 Innis hamma darbata dhagaa tokkoo achi hiiqee, jilbeenfatees akkana jedhee kadhate;
And when He was withdrawn from them about a stone's-cast, He kneeled down and prayed saying,
42 “Yaa Abbaa, yoo fedhii kee taʼe, xoofoo kana narraa fuudhi; garuu akka fedhii keetii malee akka fedhii kootii hin taʼin.”
Father, if thou art willing take away this cup from me---nevertheless, not my will but thine be done.
43 Ergamaan Waaqaa tokkos samii irraa isatti mulʼatee isa jajjabeesse.
And there appeared to Him an angel from heaven strengthening Him.
44 Innis lubbamee jabeessee kadhate; dafqi isaas akka coccopha dhiigaa lafatti cophaa ture.
And being in agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was like clotted blood falling down upon the ground.
45 Innis yommuu kadhannaa irraa kaʼee gara barattootaatti deebiʼetti, isaanii gaddaan bututanii rafaa jiran isaan arge.
And when He rose up from prayer, He came to his disciples and found them sleeping for sorrow;
46 Innis, “Isin maaliif raftu? Isin akka qorumsatti hin galleef kaʼaatii kadhadhaa” isaaniin jedhe.
and He said to them, Why do ye sleep? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.
47 Utuma inni amma iyyuu dubbachaa jiruus, tuunni namootaa tokko dhufe; namichi Yihuudaa jedhamu kan warra Kudha Lamaan keessaa tokko taʼe sunis isaan dura deemaa ture. Innis Yesuusin dhungachuuf itti dhiʼaate;
And while He was yet speaking, behold a multitude; and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve apostles, came before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss Him:
48 Yesuus garuu, “Yaa Yihuudaa, ati dhungoodhaan Ilma Namaa dabarsitee kennitaa?” jedhee gaafate.
and Jesus said to him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
49 Warri isa wajjin turanis yommuu waan taʼuuf jiru arganitti, “Yaa Gooftaa, goraadeedhaan isaan dhoofnuu” jedhan.
But when they that were about Him saw what would follow, they said to Him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?
50 Isaan keessaas namni tokko garbicha luba ol aanaa dhaʼee gurra isaa mirgaa irraa kute.
And one of them smote the high priest's servant and cut off his right ear:
51 Yesuusis deebisee, “Dhiisaa! Waan akkanaa itti hin deebiʼinaa” jedhe; gurra namichaas tuttuqee fayyise.
but Jesus said, Suffer ye thus far; and He touched his ear and healed him.
52 Ergasiis Yesuus luboota hangafoota, dura buʼoota mana qulqullummaatii fi maanguddoota isa qabuu dhufaniin akkana jedhe; “Isin goraadee fi bokkuu qabattanii akka nama hattuu qabuutti dhuftanii?
Then said Jesus to the chief priests, and officers of the temple, and elders, that were come to Him, Are ye come out as against a robber with swords and clubs?
53 Ani guyyuma guyyaan mana qulqullummaa keessa isin wajjinan ture; isin harkaanuu na hin tuqne. Garuu saʼaatiin kun saʼaatii keessan; innis yeroo itti dukkanni moʼuu dha.”
When I was day after day with you in the temple, ye did not stretch out your hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
54 Isaanis isa qabanii fuudhanii deeman; fidaniis mana luba ol aanaa ol isa seensisan. Phexros immoo fagootti duukaa buʼaa ture.
Then they took Him and led Him away, and brought Him to the high priest's. And Peter followed at a distance.
55 Yommuu isaan walakkaa lafa dallaa keessaatti ibidda qabsiisanii walii wajjin tataaʼanitti Phexrosis isaan wajjin taaʼe.
And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and sat down together, Peter also sat down among them:
56 Xomboreen tokkos utuu inni ifa ibiddaa keessa taaʼee jiruu isa argite. Isheenis hubattee isa ilaaltee, “Namichi kunis isa wajjin ture” jette.
and a servant-maid seeing him as he sat by the fire, and looking hard at him, said, This fellow was also with Him:
57 Inni garuu, “Dubartii nana, ani isa hin beeku” jedhee gane.
But he denied Him, saying, Woman, I do not know Him.
58 Yeroo xinnoo booddee namni biraa isa argee, “Atis jara keessaa tokkoo dha” jedhe. Phexros garuu, “Namichoo, ana miti” jedhee deebise.
And after a little while another person seeing him said, And thou art one of them: but Peter said, Man, I am not.
59 Gara Saʼaatii tokkoo booddee namni biraa, “Namichi kunis waan nama Galiilaa taʼeef dhuguma iyyuu isa wajjin ture” jedhee jabeessee dubbate.
And about an hour after, another confidently affirmed saying, In truth this fellow also was with Him; for he is a Galilean too: but Peter answered,
60 Phexros immoo deebisee, “Namichoo, ani waan ati jettu kana hin beeku” jedhe. Utuma inni dubbachaa jiruus indaanqoon iyye.
Man, I know not what thou sayst. And immediately, while he was yet speaking, the cock crew.
61 Gooftaanis garagalee Phexrosin ilaale. Phexrosis waan Gooftaan, “Ati harʼa utuu indaanqoon hin iyyin yeroo sadii na ganta” isaan jedhee ture sana yaadate.
And the Lord turned and looked upon Peter; and Peter called to mind the word of the Lord, how He had said to him, Before the cock crow thou wilt deny me thrice.
62 Innis gad baʼee hiqqifatee booʼe.
And Peter went out and wept bitterly.
63 Namoonni Yesuusin eegaa turan sun isatti qoosuu fi isa tumuu jalqaban.
And the men that laid hold on Jesus, insulted and abused Him;
64 Isaanis isa haguuganii, “Mee raajii dubbadhu! Eenyutu si rukute?” jedhanii isa gaafatan.
and when they had blind-folded Him, they struck Him on the face, and asked Him, saying, Prophesy who it was that smote thee.
65 Isaanis isa arrabsaa waan hedduu isaan jedhan.
And many other things spake they against Him, blaspheming Him.
66 Yommuu lafti bariʼettis yaaʼiin maanguddoota sabaa akkasumas luboonni hangafoonnii fi barsiistonni seeraa walitti qabaman; yaaʼii isaanii durattis Yesuusin dhiʼeessanii,
And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people, and chief-priests, and scribes, assembled together, and ordered Him up into their council:
67 “Ati yoo Kiristoos taate mee nutti himi” jedhaniin. Yesuusis akkana jedhee deebise; “Yoo ani isinitti hime isin na hin amantan;
and said to Him, Art thou the Messiah? tell us. And He said unto them, If I should tell you, ye would not believe:
68 yoo ani isin gaafadhes hin deebiftan.
and if I should put any question to you, ye would not answer me, nor discharge me.
69 Garuu siʼachi Ilmi Namaa karaa mirga humna Waaqaatiin ni taaʼa.”
But hereafter shall the Son of man be seated on the right hand of the power of God.
70 Hundi isaaniis, “Yoos ati Ilma Waaqaatii ree?” jedhanii gaafatan. Innis deebisee, “Akka ana taʼe isinuu ni dubbattu!” jedhe.
And they all said, Art thou then the Son of God?
71 Kana irratti isaan, “Kana caalaa dhuga baʼumsa maalii nu barbaachisa? Nu mataan keenya iyyuu afaanuma isaa irraa dhageenyeerraatii” jedhan.
And He said unto them, I am. And they said, What need have we of any farther evidence? when we ourselves have it from his own mouth?
