< Luqaas 13 >
1 Yeroo sana namoonni waaʼee warra Galiilaa kanneen Phiilaaxoos dhiiga isaanii aarsaa isaaniitti make sanaa Yesuusitti himan tokko tokko achi turan.
Now there were present some, in that very season, bringing tidings to him, concerning the Galilaeans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 Yesuusis deebisee akkana jedheen; “Sababiin namoonni Galiilaa kunneen akkas dhiphataniif waan isaan saba Galiilaa kaan hunda irra cubbamoota turaniif seetuu?
And, answering, he said unto them—Suppose ye, that, these Galilaeans, had become, sinners beyond all the Galilaeans, because, these things, they have suffered?
3 Ani isinittin hima; akkas miti; garuu isinis qalbii jijjiirrachuu baannaan hundi keessan akkasuma baddu.
Nay! I tell you, but, except ye repent, ye, all, in like manner, shall perish.
4 Yookaan namoonni kudha saddeettan gamoon Saliihoom isaan irratti jigee isaan fixe sun warra Yerusaalem keessa jiraatan kaan hunda irra waan yakka hojjetan seetuu?
Or, those eighteen, upon whom fell the tower in Siloam, and slew them, suppose ye that, they, had become, debtors, beyond all the men who were dwelling in Jerusalem?
5 Ani isinittin hima; akkas miti. Garuu isinis qalbii jijjiirrachuu baannaan, hundi keessan akkasuma baddu.”
Nay! I tell you, but, except ye repent, ye, all, in the same way, shall perish.
6 Innis akkana jedhee fakkeenya kana dubbate; “Namichi tokko muka harbuu kan iddoo dhaabaa wayinii isaa keessa dhaabame tokko qaba ture; innis muka sana irra ija barbaaduu dhaqee waan tokko illee dhabe.
And he went on to speak this parable: —A certain man had, a fig-tree, planted in his vineyard, and he canto seeking fruit therein, and found none.
7 Innis hojjetaa iddoo dhaaba wayinichaatiin, ‘Ani waggaa sadan darban kana muka harbuu kana irraa ija barbaadachuuf jedhee marmaaraan ture; garuu waan tokko illee irraa hin arganne; muriitii gati! Inni maaliif lafa balleessa?’ jedhe.
And he said unto the vine-dresser—Lo! three years, I come, seeking fruit in this fig-tree, and find none. Cut it down! Why doth it make, even the round useless?
8 “Namichi sunis deebisee akkana jedheen; ‘Yaa Gooftaa, anuu naannoo isaa qoteen xaaʼoo itti naqaatii mee wagguma tokko haa turu.
And, he, answering, saith unto him—Sir! let it alone this year also, until such time as I dig about it, and throw in manure, —
9 Yoo inni waggaa dhufu ija naqate, gaarii dha! Yoo kanaa achii murtee gatuu dandeessa.’”
and if it may bear fruit for the future; …but, otherwise, certainly, thou shalt cut it down.
10 Yesuus guyyaa Sanbataa tokko manneen sagadaa keessaa isa tokkotti barsiisaa ture.
And he was teaching in one of the synagogues, on the Sabbath.
11 Dubartiin hafuurri hamaan waggaa kudha saddeeti dugda ishee goophesse tokkos achi turte; isheenis waan gad gogdeef gonkumaa ol jechuu hin dandeessu turte.
And lo! a woman, having a spirit of weakness eighteen years, —and was bowed together, and unable to lift herself up, at all.
12 Yesuusis yommuu ishee argetti ofitti ishee waamee, “Dubartii nana, ati dhukkuba kee irraa fayyiteerta” jedheen,
And, seeing her, Jesus called her and said to her—Woman! thou art loosed from thy weakness, —
13 Innis harka isaa ishee irra kaaʼe; isheenis yeruma sana ol jettee Waaqa galateeffatte.
and laid on her his hands; and, instantly, she was made straight again, and began glorifying God.
14 Bulchaan mana sagadaas sababii Yesuus guyyaa Sanbataatiin nama fayyiseef aaree namootaan, “Guyyaan hojii jaʼatu jira; guyyoota sana kottaatii fayyifamaa malee guyyaa Sanbataa hin dhufinaa” jedhe.
But the synagogue-ruler, answering, being greatly displeased that, on the Sabbath, Jesus had healed, began saying unto the multitude—Six days, there are, in which men ought to get their work done; On them, therefore, come and be healed, and, not on the day of rest.
15 Gooftaan immoo akkana jedhee deebiseef; “Yaa fakkeessitoota! Isin keessaa namni guyyaa Sanbataa qotiyyoo isaa yookaan harree isaa dallaa keessaa hiikee bishaan obaasuu hin geessine jiraa?
The Lord answered him, and said—Hypocrites! Doth not, each one of you, on the Sabbath, loose his ox or ass from the manger, and, leading it away, give it drink?
16 Yoos dubartiin kun intalli Abrahaam kan Seexanni waggaa kudha saddeeti guutuu hidhee ture kun guyyaa Sanbataatiin hidhaa kana irraa hiikamuun isheef hin maluu?”
But, this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound, lo! eighteen years, was there not a needs-be that she should be loosed from this bond, on the day of rest?
17 Yommuu inni waan kana dubbatetti mormitoonni isaa hundi ni qaanaʼan; namoonni garuu hojjiiwwan dinqii kanneen inni hojjechaa ture hundatti ni gammadan.
And, as he was saying, these, things, all who had been setting themselves against him were being put to shame; and, all the multitude, were rejoicing over all the glorious things which were being brought to pass by him.
18 Yesuusis akkana jedhee gaafate; “Mootummaan Waaqaa maal fakkaata? Anis maaliinan wal isa fakkeessa?
He went on to say, therefore—Whereunto, is the kingdom of God, like? And, whereunto, shall I liken it?
19 Mootummaan Waaqaa sanyii sanaaficaa kan namni tokko fuudhee lafa qotiisaa isaa keessatti facaase fakkaata. Sanyiin sunis guddatee muka taʼe; simbirroonnis dameewwan isaa irra jiraatan.”
It is, like, unto a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and cast into his own garden; and it grew, and became a tree, and, the birds of heaven, lodged amongst its branches.
20 Amma illee akkana jedhee gaafate; “Ani mootummaa Waaqaa maaliinan wal fakkeessa?
And, again, he said—Whereunto, shall I liken the kingdom of God?
21 Inni raacitii dubartiin tokko fuutee hamma inni guutummaatti bukeessutti daakuu safartuu sadiitti makte fakkaata.”
It is, like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until, the whole, was leavened.
22 Yesuusis utuu gara Yerusaalem deemuu namoota barsiisaa magaalaawwanii fi gandoota keessa darbaa ture.
And he was journeying on, city by city and village by village, and making, progress, unto Jerusalem.
23 Namichi tokkos, “Yaa Gooftaa warri fayyifaman namoota muraasa qofaa?” jedhee isa gaafate. Innis akkana isaaniin jedhe;
And one said unto him—Lord! are they, few, who are being saved? And, he, said unto them—
24 “Balbala dhiphaadhaan seenuuf tattaaffadhaa; ani isinittin hima; namoonni baayʼeen seenuu ni yaaluutii; garuu hin dandaʼan.
Be striving to enter through the narrow door; for, many, I say unto you, will seek to enter, and will not be able, —
25 Abbaan mana sanaa takkaa kaʼee balbalicha cufannaan isin ala dhaabatanii balbala rurrukutaa, ‘Yaa Gooftaa balbala nuu bani’ jettanii kadhattu. “Inni garuu deebisee, ‘Ani isin hin beeku yookaan eessaa akka dhuftan hin beeku’ isiniin jedha.
when once the householder shall rouse himself, and lock the door, and ye begin to stand, outside, and to knock at the door, saying—Lord! open to us; and he shall answer and say unto you—I know you not, whence ye are.
26 “Isin immoo, ‘Nu si wajjin nyaannee dhugneerra; atis daandii keenya irratti barsiifteerta’ jettuun.
Then, will ye begin to say—We did eat and drink in thy presence, and, in our broadways, thou didst, teach;
27 “Inni garuu deebisee, ‘Ani isin hin beeku yookaan eessaa akka dhuftan hin beeku. Isin warri hammina hojjettan hundinuu na biraa badaa!’ jedha.
And he will speak, saying unto you—I know not whence ye are; Depart from me, all workers of unrighteous—
28 “Yommuu Abrahaam, Yisihaaq, Yaaqoobii fi raajota hunda mootummaa Waaqaa keessatti argitanii, ofii keessanii immoo gad darbatamtan, achitti booʼuu fi ilkaan qaruutu taʼa.
There, will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, as soon as ye see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and, yourselves, being thrust forth outside.
29 Namoonnis baʼa biiftuutii fi lixa biiftuutii, kaabaa fi kibbaa dhufanii mootummaa Waaqaa keessatti maaddiitti ni dhiʼaatu.
And they shall have come from east and west, and from north and south, and be made recline in the kingdom of God.
30 Dhugumaanuu kanneen warra dhumaa taʼan keessaa kanneen warra jalqabaa, kanneen warra jalqabaa taʼan keessaa immoo warra dhumaa taʼan jiru.”
And lo! there are, last, who shall be, first, and there are, first, who shall be, last;
31 Yeroo sana Fariisota keessaa namoonni tokko tokko gara Yesuus dhufanii, “Sababii Heroodis si ajjeesuu barbaaduuf asii deemii iddoo biraa dhaqi” jedhaniin.
In that very hour, came near certain Pharisees, saying unto him, Go forth, and be journeying hence, because, Herod, desireth to slay thee.
32 Innis akkana jedhee deebise; “Dhaqaatii waangoo sanaan, ‘Kunoo, ani harʼaa fi bori hafuurota hamoo nan baasa; namoota dhukkubsatanis nan fayyisa; guyyaa sadaffaatti immoo hojii koo nan fixadha’ jedhaa.
And he said unto them—Go and tell this fox, Lo! I am casting out demons, and, cures, am I finishing, to-day, and to-morrow, —
33 Waan fedhe iyyuu taanaan, ani harʼaa fi bori, iftaanis adeemsa koo itti fufuutu naa mala; raajiin Yerusaalemiin alatti duʼuu hin qabuutii!
and, on the third, I am to be made perfect. Nevertheless, I must needs, to-day, and tomorrow, and the following, be journeying on, because it is impossible that a prophet perish, outside Jerusalem.
34 “Yaa Yerusaalem, yaa Yerusaalem, ati kan raajota ajjeeftu, warra gara keetti ergamanis kan dhagaadhaan tumtu, akkuma indaanqoon cuucii ishee qoochoo ishee jalatti walitti qabattu sana anis ijoollee kee walitti qabuuf yeroo meeqan hawwe! Isin garuu hin barbaanne.
Jerusalem! Jerusalem! she that slayeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! How often, have I desired to gather together thy children, like as a hen, her own brood, under her wings, —and ye did not desire!
35 Kunoo, manni keessan onee isinii hafa. Ani isinittin hima; isin hamma, ‘Inni maqaa Gooftaatiin dhufu sun eebbifamaa dha’jettanitti lammata na hin argitan.”
Lo! your house is left to you. [And] I say unto you—In nowise shall ye see me, until ye say, —Blessed, is he that cometh in the name of the Lord!
