< Luqaas 10 >

1 Kana booddee Gooftaan namoota biraa 72 muudee gara magaalaawwanii fi lafa ofii dhaquuf ture hundaatti lama lamaan of dura isaan erge.
After this, the Lord appointed seventy other disciples, and sent them in pairs to every town and place that he planned to visit.
2 Akkanas isaaniin jedhe; “Midhaan walitti qabamu baayʼee dha; hojjettoonni garuu muraasa. Kanaaf akka Gooftaan midhaan sanaa gara lafa qotiisaa midhaan isaatti hojjettoota erguuf isa kadhadhaa.
“The harvest is large, but the number of workers is small,” he told them. “Pray to the Lord of the harvest to send workers to his harvest fields.
3 Deemaa! Ani akka ilmoolee hoolaa gara gidduu yeeyyiitti isin erga.
So get on your way: I'm sending you like sheep among wolves.
4 Borsaa yookaan korojoo yookaan kophee hin qabatinaa; karaa irrattis nama tokko illee nagaa hin gaafatinaa.
Don't take any money or a bag or extra sandals, and don't spend time chatting with people you meet.
5 “Yeroo mana tokko seentanitti dursaatii, ‘Nagaan mana kanaaf haa taʼu’ jedhaa.
Whatever house you enter, first of all say, ‘May this house have peace.’
6 Yoo namni nagaa achi jiraate, nagaan keessan isaaf taʼa; yoo kanaa achii nagaan keessan isiniif deebiʼa.
If there's a peaceful person living there, then your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you.
7 Waan isaan isinii kennan hunda nyaachaa, dhugaas achuma turaa; hojjetaaf mindaa isaa argachuun ni malaatii. Manaa gara manaatti hin labinaa.
Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for a worker deserves to be paid. Don't go from house to house.
8 “Yeroo magaalaa tokko seentanii simatamtanitti waanuma isinii dhiʼaate nyaadhaa.
If you enter a town and the people there welcome you, then eat what's set before you
9 Dhukkubsattoota achi jiran fayyisaatii, ‘Mootummaan Waaqaa isinitti dhiʼaateera’ jedhaa isaanitti himaa.
and heal those who are sick. Tell them, ‘God's kingdom has come to you.’
10 Yoo magaalaa tokko seentanii isin simachuu baatan garuu gara daandii magaalaatti baʼaatii akkana jedhaa;
But if you enter a town and the people there don't welcome you, go through their streets telling them,
11 ‘Nu akka akeekkachiisa isinii taʼuuf awwaara magaalaa keessanii illee miilla keenya irraa dhadhaʼanna. Taʼus waan kana beekaa: Mootummaan Waaqaa dhiʼaateera.’
‘We are wiping off even the dust from your town that clings to our feet to show you our disapproval. But you should recognize this: God's kingdom has come.’
12 Ani isinittin hima; gaafas magaalaa sana irra Sodoomiif ni salphata.
I tell you, in the Day of Judgment it will be better for Sodom than for such a town.
13 “Yaa Koraaziin siif wayyoo! Yaa Beetisayidaa siif wayyoo! Hojiin dinqii kan isin keessatti hojjetame sun utuu Xiiroosii fi Siidoonaa keessatti hojjetamee jiraatee isaan silaa yeroo dheeraan dura uffata gaddaa uffatanii, daaraa keessas tataaʼanii qalbii jijjiirratu turan.
Shame on you Korazin! Shame on you Bethsaida! For if the miracles you saw happen had happened in Tyre and Sidon they would have repented a long time ago, and they would be sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
14 Garuu guyyaa murtiitti isin irra Xiiroosii fi Siidoonaaf ni salphata.
That's why in the judgment it will be better for Tyre and Sidon than for you.
15 Atis yaa Qifirnaahom, hamma samiitti ol kaafamtaa? Lakki, Siiʼoolitti gad buuta. (Hadēs g86)
And you, Capernaum, you won't be exalted to heaven; you will go down to Hades. (Hadēs g86)
16 “Namni isin dhagaʼu kam iyyuu na dhagaʼa; namni isin dhagaʼuu didu anas dhagaʼuu dida; namni na dhagaʼuu didu immoo isa na erge sana dhagaʼuu dida.”
Anyone who hears you hears me, and anyone who rejects you rejects me. But anyone who rejects me rejects the one who sent me.”
17 Namoonni torbaatamii lamaan sunis gammachuudhaan deebiʼanii, “Yaa Gooftaa, hafuuronni hamoon iyyuu maqaa keetiin nuu ajajamaniiru” jedhan.
The seventy disciples returned in great excitement, saying, “Lord, even the demons do what we tell them in your name!”
18 Yesuusis deebisee akkana jedhe; “Ani utuu Seexanni akkuma balaqqeetti samii irraa buʼuu nan arge.
Jesus replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
19 Kunoo, ani akka isin bofaa fi torbaanqabaa lafatti dhidhiittanii fi akka humna diinaa hundas moʼattaniif aangoo isinii kenneera; wanni kam iyyuu isin hin miidhu.
Yes, I have given you power to tread on snakes and scorpions, and to overcome all the enemy's strength, and nothing will harm you.
20 Garuu sababii maqaan keessan samii keessatti barreeffameef gammadaa malee sababii hafuuronni isinii ajajamaniif hin gammadinaa.”
But don't take delight that the spirits do what you tell them—just be glad that your names are written in heaven.”
21 Yesuus yeroo sana Hafuura Qulqulluudhaan gammachuun guutamee akkana jedhe; “Yaa Abbaa, Gooftaa samiitii fi lafaa, sababii ati wantoota kanneen ogeeyyii fi hubattoota jalaa dhoksitee daaʼimmanitti mulʼifteef ani sin galateeffadha. Eeyyee yaa Abbaa, ati waan kana gochuutti gammaddeertaatii.
At that moment Jesus was filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit, and said, “I thank you Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for you hid these things from the wise and clever people and revealed them to children! Yes, Father, you were pleased to do it in this way.
22 “Abbaan koo waan hunda dabarsee natti kenneera. Abbaa malee namni tokko iyyuu Ilmi eenyu akka taʼe hin beeku; Ilmaa fi nama Ilmi isa itti mulʼisuu fedhu malee namni tokko iyyuu Abbaan eenyu akka taʼe hin beeku.”
My Father has handed over everything to me. No one understands the Son except the Father, and no one understands the Father except the Son, and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
23 Barattoota isaattis garagalee kophaatti akkana jedheen; “Iji waan isin argitan argu eebbifamaa dha.
When they were by themselves Jesus turned to the disciples and told them, “Those who see what you're seeing should be really happy!
24 Ani isinittin himaatii raajonnii fi mootonni baayʼeen waan isin argitan kana arguu barbaadan; garuu hin argine. Waan isin dhageessan kanas dhagaʼuu barbaadan; garuu hin dhageenye.”
I tell you, many prophets and kings have wanted to see what you're seeing, but they didn't see, and wanted to hear the things you're hearing, but didn't hear.”
25 Gaaf tokko, hayyuun seeraa tokko Yesuusin qoruuf jedhee kaʼee dhaabate. Innis, “Yaa Barsiisaa, ani jireenya bara baraa dhaaluudhaaf maal gochuun qaba?” jedhee gaafate. (aiōnios g166)
Once an expert in religious law stood up and tried to trap Jesus. “Teacher,” he asked, “What do I have to do to gain eternal life?” (aiōnios g166)
26 Yesuusis deebisee, “Seera keessatti maaltu barreeffame? Atis akkamitti dubbifta?” jedheen.
“What is written in the law? How do you read it?” asked Jesus.
27 Namichis, “‘Waaqa kee Goofticha garaa kee guutuudhaan, lubbuu kee guutuudhaan, humna kee guutuudhaan, yaada kee guutuudhaan jaalladhu; ollaa kees akkuma ofii keetiitti jaalladhu’” jedhee deebise.
“You shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart, and your whole spirit, and your whole strength, and your whole mind; and love your neighbor as yourself,” the man replied.
28 Yesuusis, “Sirriitti deebifteerta; atis kanuma godhi ni jiraattaa” jedheen.
“You're right,” Jesus told him. “Do this, and you will live.”
29 Namichi sun garuu qajeelaa of gochuu barbaadee, “Ollaan koo eenyu?” jedhee Yesuusin gaafate.
But the man wanted to vindicate himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
30 Yesuusis deebisee akkana jedhe; “Namichi tokko utuu Yerusaalemii baʼee Yerikootti gad buʼaa jiruu harka saamtotaa seene. Isaanis uffata isaa irraa baafatanii, tumanii, duʼaa fi jireenya gidduutti isa dhiisanii deeman.
Jesus replied, saying, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho. He was attacked by robbers who stripped him and beat him, and left him for dead.
31 Lubni tokko utuu akkuma tasaa karaa sanaan gad buʼuu namicha argee irraa goree darbe.
It so happened that a priest was going the same way. He saw the man, but he passed by on the other side of the road.
32 Akkasumas namichi gosa Lewwii tokko yommuu iddoo sana gaʼeetti namicha sana argee irraa goree darbe.
Then a Levite came along. But when he got to the place and saw the man, he also passed by on the other side.
33 Namichi Samaariyaa tokko garuu utuu deemaa jiruu iddoo namichi sun jiru gaʼe; yommuu isa argettis garaa laafeef.
Finally a Samaritan man came along. As he passed by, he saw the man and felt sorry for him.
34 Innis itti dhiʼaatee zayitii fi daadhii wayinii madaa isaatti naqee hidheef; harree isaa irras kaaʼee, mana boqonnaa keessummootaatti isa geesse; achittis isa gargaare.
He went over and treated the man's wounds with oil and wine, and bandaged them. Then he placed the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn where he took care of him.
35 Guyyaa itti aanutti diinaarii lama baasee abbaa mana boqonnaa sanaatti kennee, ‘Namicha kana ittiin naa walʼaani; yoo kana caalaa baaftes ani yeroon deebiʼee dhufutti siifin kenna’ jedheen.
The next day he gave two denarii to the innkeeper and told him, ‘Take care of him, and if you spend more than this, I'll pay you back when I return.’
36 “Egaa jara sadan kanneen keessaa ollaan namicha harka saamtotaa seene sanaa isa kam seeta?”
Which one of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who was attacked by robbers?”
37 Hayyuun seeraa sunis, “Isa garaa laafeef sana” jedheen. Yesuusis, “Atis dhaqiitii akkasuma godhi” jedheen.
“The one who showed him kindness,” the man replied. “Go and do the same,” Jesus told him.
38 Utuu karaa deemaa jiranuu Yesuus ganda tokko seene; dubartiin Maartaa jedhamtu tokkos mana isheetti isa simatte.
While they were on their way, Jesus arrived at a village, and a woman called Martha invited him to her home.
39 Isheenis obboleettii Maariyaam jedhamtu tokko qabdi turte; Maariyaamis miilla Gooftaa jala teessee waan inni jedhu dhaggeeffachaa turte.
She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching.
40 Maartaan garuu baayʼina hojiitiin waan dadhabaa turteef gara isaa dhuftee, “Yaa Gooftaa, obboleettiin koo akka ani hojii hunda kophaa koo hojjedhu natti dhiisuun ishee si hin gaddisiisuu? Akka isheen na gargaartu itti himi!” jette.
Martha was concerned about all that needed to be done to prepare the meal, so she came to Jesus and said, “Master, don't you care that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her to come and help me!”
41 Gooftaanis deebisee akkana jedheen; “Yaa Maartaa, yaa Maartaa, ati waaʼee waan baayʼee yaaddofta; ni raafamtas.
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord replied, “you're worried and upset about all this.
42 Wanni barbaachisu garuu waanuma tokko qofa; Maariyaam isa caalu filatteerti; innis ishee irraa hin fudhatamu.”
But only one thing is really necessary. Mary has chosen the right thing, and it shall not be taken away from her.”
