Faaruu 5
1 Yaa Waaqayyo, waan nurra gaʼe yaadadhu; ilaali; salphina keenyas argi.
Remember, O Jehovah, what is come upon us! Look down and behold our reproach!
2 Handhuuraan keenya alagootaaf, manneen keenyas Namoota Ormaatiif dabarfamanii kennamaniiru.
Our inheritance is fallen to strangers, Our houses to aliens.
3 Nu ijoollee abbaa hin qabne taane; haadhonni keenya immoo haadhota hiyyeessaa taʼaniiru.
We are orphans; we are without a father; Our mothers are as widows.
4 Nu bishaan dhugnuuf kaffaluu qabna turre; qoraan illee bittaa qofaan arganna.
Our water we drink for money; Our wood is sold to us.
5 Warri nu ariʼan koomee keenya bira jiru; nu dadhabneerra; boqonnaas hin qabnu.
With the yoke upon our necks, we are driven; We are wearied, and have no rest.
6 Nu buddeena gaʼaa argachuuf jennee warra Gibxittii fi warra Asooritti harka kennine;
We have given the hand to the Egyptians, And to the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.
7 Abbootiin keenya cubbuu hojjetanii darban; nu immoo adabbii isaanii baanne.
Our fathers sinned; they are no more, And we bear their iniquities.
8 Garbootatu nu bulcha; namni harka isaaniitii bilisa nu baasu tokko iyyuu hin jiru.
Servants rule over us; There is none that delivereth out of their hand.
9 Sababii goraadee gammoojjii jiruutiin lubbuu keenya balaaf saaxillee buddeena arganna.
With the peril of our lives we get our bread, Because of the sword of the wilderness.
10 Gogaan keenya sababii beelaatiin akkuma badaa ibiddaa hoʼa.
Our skin is parched like an oven Because of the burnings of hunger.
11 Xiyoon keessatti dubartoonni, magaalaawwan Yihuudaa keessattis dubarran qulqulluun humnaan gudeedaman.
Matrons in Zion have they ravished, And maidens in the cities of Judah.
12 Ilmaan moototaa harka isaaniitiin fannifamaniiru; maanguddoonni ulfina hin arganne.
Princes were hanged up by their hand; The faces of the elders were not honored.
13 Gaʼeessonni akka midhaan daakan dirqisiifaman; ijoolleen dhiiraa muka baachuun gatantaran.
Young men carried millstones, And boys fell under burdens of wood.
14 Maanguddoonni karra magaalaa duraa deemaniiru; dargaggoonnis weedduu isaanii dhiisaniiru.
The elders sit no more at the gate; The young men have ceased from their music.
15 Gammachuun garaa keenya keessaa badeera; shuubbisuun keenyas booʼichatti geeddarameera.
The joy of our heart is at an end; Our dancing is turned into mourning.
16 Gonfoon mataa keenya irraa buʼeera. Nuuf wayyoo; nu cubbuu hojjenneerraatii!
The crown is fallen from our head; Woe unto us, that we have sinned!
17 Sababii waan kanaatiif onneen keenya ni gaggabe; sababii waan kanaatiif immoo iji keenya dadhabe;
For this is our heart faint, For these things our eyes are dim;
18 Tulluun Xiyoon kan onee hafe sun lafa waangoonni irra burraaqan taʼeeraatii.
On account of mount Zion, which is desolate; Foxes roam over it.
19 Yaa Waaqayyo, ati bara baraan bulchi; teessoon kees dhalootaa gara dhalootaatti itti fufa.
But thou, O Jehovah, sittest as king forever; Thy throne endureth from generation to generation.
20 Ati maaliif guutumaan guutuutti nu irraanfatta? Maaliif bara dheeraas nu dhiifta?
Wherefore dost thou wholly forget us, And abandon us, for so long a time?
21 Yaa Waaqayyo, akka nu deebinuuf ofitti nu deebisi; bara keenya illee akkuma duriitti haaromsi.
Turn us again to thee, O Jehovah, that we may be restored! Renew our days as of old!
22 Ati yoo guutumaan guutuutti nu gatuu baatte, yoo akka malees nutti dheekkamuu baatte waan kana godhi.
For shouldst thou utterly reject us? Shouldst thou be so exceedingly wroth against us?
