Faaruu 3
1 Namni ulee dheekkamsa isaatiin rakkina arge anaa dha.
[ALEPH-BET] I [am] the man [who] has seen affliction By the rod of His wrath.
2 Inni fuula isaa duraa na ariʼee akka ani qooda ifaa dukkana keessa deemu na godhe;
He has led me, and causes to go [in] darkness, and without light.
3 dhugumaan inni guyyaa guutuu, ammumaa amma harka isaa natti deebise.
Surely against me He turns back, He turns His hand all the day.
4 Inni foon kootii fi gogaa koo dulloomseera; lafee koo illee caccabseera.
He has worn out my flesh and my skin. He has broken my bones.
5 Inni na marsee hadhaaʼummaa fi gidiraa natti naannesseera.
He has built up against me, And sets around poverty and weariness.
6 Akkuma warra dur dhumanii akka ani dukkana keessa jiraadhu na godhe.
In dark places He has caused me to dwell, As the dead of old.
7 Inni akka ani hin miliqneef dallaa natti ijaare; foncaa ulfaatus natti feʼe.
He has hedged me in, and I do not go out, He has made heavy my chain.
8 Yommuu ani waammadhu yookaan gargaarsaaf iyyadhutti illee inni kadhannaa koo dhagaʼuu dida.
Also when I call and cry out, He has shut out my prayer.
9 Karaa koo dhagaa soofameen cufe; daandii koo illee ni jalʼisa.
He has hedged my ways with hewn work, My paths He has made crooked.
10 Inni akkuma amaaketa riphee waa eeggatuu, akkuma leenca dhokatee jiruu
A bear lying in wait He [is] to me, A lion in secret hiding places.
11 daandii irraa na harkisee na ciccire; kophaatti na gate.
My ways He is turning aside, and He pulls me in pieces, He has made me a desolation.
12 Inni iddaa isaa luqqifatee xiyya isaa natti qabe.
He has bent His bow, And sets me up as a mark for an arrow.
13 Korojoo isaa keessaa xiyya baasee onnee koo waraane.
He has caused to enter into my reins The sons of His quiver.
14 Ani saba koo hundaaf waan kolfaa nan taʼe; isaan guyyaa guutuu faaruudhaan natti qoosu.
I have been a derision to all my people, Their song all the day.
15 Inni waan hadhaaʼaa na nyaachise; hadhooftuu illee na quubse.
He has filled me with bitter things, He has filled me [with] wormwood.
16 Inni dhagaadhaan ilkaan koo cabse; awwaara keessattis na dhidhiite.
And He breaks with gravel my teeth, He has covered me with ashes.
17 Ani nagaa nan dhabe; gammachuun maal akka taʼes nan irraanfadhe.
And You cast off my soul from peace, I have forgotten prosperity.
18 Kanaafuu ani “Ulfinni koo, abdiin ani Waaqayyo irraa qabu hundinuu badeera” nan jedhe.
And I say, My strength and my hope have perished from YHWH.
19 Ani rakkinaa fi asii achi jooruu koo, hadhaaʼummaa fi hadhooftuus nan yaadadha.
Remember my affliction and my mourning, Wormwood and gall!
20 Lubbuun koo yeroo hunda waan kana yaaddi; na keessattis gad of qabdi.
Remember well, and my soul bows down in me.
21 Taʼus ani waan kana nan qalbeeffadha; kanaafuu ani abdii qaba.
This I turn to my heart—therefore I hope.
22 Nu sababii jaalala Waaqayyoo guddaa sanaatiif hin badnu; gara laafinni isaa hin dhumuutii.
The kindnesses of YHWH! For we have not been consumed, For His mercies have not ended.
23 Isaan ganama hunda haaraa dha; amanamummaan kees guddaa dha.
New every morning, abundant [is] Your faithfulness.
24 Anis, “Waaqayyo qooda koo ti; kanaafuu ani isa nan eeggadha” ofiin nan jedha.
My portion [is] YHWH, my soul has said, Therefore I hope for Him.
25 Waaqayyo warra isa abdataniif, kanneen isa barbaadaniif gaarii dha;
YHWH [is] good to those waiting for Him, To the soul [that] seeks Him.
26 Fayyisuu Waaqayyoo calʼisanii eeggachuun gaarii dha.
[It is] good when one stays and stands still For the salvation of YHWH.
27 Yeroo dargaggummaa isaatti waanjoo baachuun namaaf gaarii dha.
[It is] good for a man that he bears a yoke in his youth.
28 Inni kophaa isaa calʼisee haa taaʼu; Waaqayyo isa baachiseeraatii.
He sits alone, and is silent, For He has laid [it] on him.
29 Amma illee abdiin ni jira taʼaatii, inni fuula isaa awwaara keessa haa suuqqatu.
He puts his mouth in the dust, if so be, there is hope.
30 Inni nama isa dhaʼutti maddii isaa haa qabu; salphinaanis haa guutamu.
He gives to his striker the cheek, He is filled with reproach.
31 Gooftaan bara baraan nama hin gatuutii.
For the Lord does not cast off for all time.
32 Inni gadda fidu illee garaa ni laafa; jaalalli isaa kan hin geeddaramne sun guddaadhaatii.
For though He afflicted, yet He has pitied, According to the abundance of His kindness.
33 Inni itti yaadee rakkina yookaan dhiphina sanyii namaatti hin fiduutii.
For He has not afflicted with His heart, Nor does He grieve the sons of men.
34 Yommuu hidhamtoonni biyyattii keessa jiran hundi miilla jalatti dhidhiitaman,
To bruise under one’s feet any bound ones of earth,
35 yommuu fuula Waaqa Waan Hundaa Olii duratti mirgi nama tokkoo dhiibamu,
To turn aside the judgment of a man, Before the face of the Most High,
36 yommuu murtiin qajeelaan dhabamu, Gooftaan waan akkasii hin arguu?
To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord has not approved.
37 Yoo Gooftaan ajajuu baate eenyutu dubbatee waan sana fiixaan baasuu dandaʼa?
Who [is] this—he has spoken, and it is, [And] the Lord has not commanded [it]?
38 Wanni hamaanii fi wanni gaariin afaanuma Waaqa Waan Hundaa Oliitii baʼa mitii?
From the mouth of the Most High does not go forth the evils and the good.
39 Yoos namni lubbuun jiraatu kam iyyuu maaliif yommuu cubbuu isaatiif adabamutti guunguma ree?
Why does a living man sigh habitually, A man for his sin?
40 Kottaa nu daandii keenya qorree haa ilaallu; gara Waaqayyoottis haa deebinu.
We search our ways, and investigate, And turn back to YHWH.
41 Nu onnee keenyaa fi harka keenya gara Waaqa samii keessa jiruutti ol qabnee akkana haa jennu:
We lift up our heart on the hands to God in the heavens.
42 “Nu cubbuu hojjenneerra; fincilleerras; atis nuuf hin dhiifne.
We have transgressed and been rebellious, You have not forgiven.
43 “Ati dheekkamsaan of haguugdee nu ariite; gara laafina malees nu fixxe.
You have covered Yourself with anger, And pursue us; You have slain—You have not pitied.
44 Akka kadhannaan tokko iyyuu gara kee hin dhufneef ati duumessaan of haguugde.
You have covered Yourself with a cloud, So that prayer does not pass through.
45 Ati saboota gidduutti xurii fi kosii nu goote.
Outcast and refuse You make us In the midst of the peoples.
46 “Diinonni keenya hundinuu, afaan nutti banataniiru.
Opened against us their mouth have all our enemies.
47 Sodaa fi kiyyoon, diigamuu fi badiisni nutti dhufeera.”
Fear and a snare has been for us, Desolation and destruction.
48 Sababii uummanni koo barbadaaʼeef lolaan imimmaanii ija koo keessaa yaaʼa.
Streams of water go down my eye, For the destruction of the daughter of my people.
49 Iji koo boqonnaa malee utuu gargar hin kutin imimmaan lolaasa;
My eye is poured out, And does not cease without intermission,
50 kunis hamma Waaqayyo ol samiidhaa gad ilaalee argutti.
Until YHWH looks and sees from the heavens,
51 Sababii dubartoota magaalaa koo hundaatiif wanni ani argu lubbuu koo gaddisiisa.
My eye affects my soul, Because of all the daughters of my city.
52 Warri sababii malee diina natti taʼan akkuma simbiraa na adamsan.
Hunting—my enemies have hunted me without cause like the bird.
53 Isaan lubbuu koo boolla keessatti galaafatanii dhagaa natti garagalchuu yaalan;
They have cut off my life in a pit, And they cast a stone against me.
54 bishaan mataa koo irra gara gale; anis, “Baduu koo ti” nan jedhe.
Waters have flowed over my head, I have said, I have been cut off.
55 Yaa Waaqayyo, ani boolla qilee keessaa maqaa kee nan waammadha.
I called Your Name, O YHWH, from the lower pit.
56 Ati kadhannaa koo kan, “Iyya ani gargaarsa barbaachaaf iyyu dhagaʼuu hin didin” jedhu dhageesseerta.
You have heard my voice, do not hide Your ear at my breathing—at my cry.
57 Yeroo ani si waammadhetti ati natti dhiʼaattee “Hin sodaatin” naan jette.
You have drawn near in the day I call You, You have said, Do not fear.
58 Yaa gooftaa ati dubbii koo naa falmite; lubbuu koos ni baraarte.
You have pleaded, O Lord, the pleadings of my soul, You have redeemed my life.
59 Yaa Waaqayyo, ati daba natti hojjetame argiteerta; dubbii koo naa ilaali!
You have seen, O YHWH, my overthrow, Judge my cause.
60 Ati haaloo baʼuu isaaniitii fi natti malachuu isaanii hundas argiteerta.
You have seen all their vengeance, All their thoughts of me.
61 Yaa Waaqayyo, ati arraba isaaniitii fi natti malachuu isaanii hunda dhageesseerta;
You have heard their reproach, O YHWH, All their thoughts against me,
62 kunis arraba warra natti kaʼaniitii fi waan isaan guyyaa guutuu waaʼee koo hasaasanii dha.
The lips of my withstanders, Even their meditation against me all the day.
63 Ati isaan ilaali! Isaan taaʼanii yookaan dhadhaabatanii weedduu isaaniitiin natti qoosu.
Their sitting down, and their rising up, Behold attentively, I [am] their song.
64 Yaa Waaqayyo, waan isaaniif malu akkuma hojii harka isaaniitti deebisii kenniif.
You return to them the deed, O YHWH, According to the work of their hands.
65 Onnee isaanii haguugi; abaarsi kees isaan irra haa buʼu!
You give to them a covered heart, Your curse to them.
66 Samiiwwan Waaqayyoo jalaa dheekkamsaan isaan ariʼii isaan balleessis.
You pursue in anger, and destroy them, From under the heavens of YHWH!
