Iyyaasuu 6
1 Yeroo sanatti Yerikoon sababii Israaʼelootaatiif jabeeffamtee cufamtee turte. Namni tokko iyyuu gad hin baʼu; namni tokko iyyuus ol hin seenu ture.
And Jericho [was] shutting and shut up because of [the] people of Israel there not [was one] going out and there not [was one] coming.
2 Waaqayyos Iyyaasuudhaan akkana jedhe; “Kunoo ani mootii isheetii fi loltoota ishee wajjin Yerikoo dabarsee harka keetti kenneera.
And he said Yahweh to Joshua see I have given in hand your Jericho and king its [the] mighty [men] of strength.
3 Hidhattoota hunda wajjin yeroo tokko magaalattii irra naannaʼaa; kanas bultii jaʼa hojjedhaa.
And you will go around the city all [the] men of war you will encircle the city a time one thus you will do six days.
4 Luboonni torbas malakata torba kanneen gaanfa hoolaa irraa hojjetaman qabatanii taabota dura haa deeman. Isinis guyyaa torbaffaatti yeroo torba magaalattii irra nanaannaʼaa; luboonnis malakata haa afuufan.
And seven priests they will carry seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark and on the day seventh you will go round the city seven times and the priests they will give a blast on the trumpets.
5 Yommuu isaan sagalee malakataa dheeraa isaa dhageessisanitti namni hundinuu sagalee guddaadhaan haa iyyu; dallaan magaalaa sanaa yommusuma jiga; namoonnis ol baʼu; namni hundinuus qajeelee itti seena.”
And it will be when blow - on [the] horn of ram's horn (just as hear you *Q(K)*) [the] sound of the trumpet they will shout all the people a shout loud and it will fall [the] wall of the city in place its and they will go up the people everyone before himself.
6 Kanaafuu Iyyaasuun ilmi Nuuni luboota ofitti waamee, “Taabota kakuu Waaqayyoo fuudhaatii luboonni torba malakata baatanii isa dura haa deeman” jedheen.
And he called Joshua [the] son of Nun to the priests and he said to them lift up [the] ark of the covenant and seven priests they will carry seven trumpets of rams' horns before [the] ark of Yahweh.
7 Namootaanis, “Fuula duratti deemaatii magaalaa sana irra naannaʼaa; loltoonni hidhatanis taabota Waaqayyoo dura haa deeman” jedhe.
(And he said *Q(K)*) to the people pass on and go round the city and the armed [man] he will pass on before [the] ark of Yahweh.
8 Erga Iyyaasuun namootatti dubbatee booddee, luboonni torban fuula Waaqayyoo duratti malakata torba baatan sun malakata isaanii afuufaa dura darban; taabonni kakuu Waaqayyoos isaan duukaa buʼe.
And it was when had said Joshua to the people and seven the priests [who] were carrying seven [the] trumpets of rams' horns before Yahweh they passed on and they gave a blast on the trumpets and [the] ark of [the] covenant of Yahweh [was] going after them.
9 Loltoonni miʼa lolaa hidhatanis luboota malakata afuufaa turan dura deeman; loltoonni dugda duubaa immoo taaboticha duukaa buʼan. Yeroo kana hundas malakanni afuufamaa ture.
And the armed [man] [was] walking before the priests ([who] give a blast on *Q(K)*) the trumpets and the rearguard [was] walking behind the ark walking and giving blasts on the trumpets.
10 Iyyaasuun garuu namootaan, “Iyya lolaa hin iyyinaa; sagalee keessan ol hin fudhatinaa; hamma guyyaa ani iyyaa isiniin jedhuutti dubbii tokko illee hin dubbatinaa. Gaafas iyyaa!” jedhe.
And the people he commanded Joshua saying not you must shout and not you must make heard voice your and not it will go out from mouth your a word until [the] day say I to you shout and you will shout.
11 Kanaafuu inni akka taabonni Waaqayyoo baatamee magaalaa sana irra yeroo tokko naannaʼu godhe. Ergasiis namoonni gara qubataatti deebiʼanii achi bulan.
And he caused to go around [the] ark of Yahweh the city it encircled [it] a time one and they went the camp and they stayed in the camp.
12 Iyyaasuun guyyaa itti aanu ganama barii kaʼe; luboonnis taabota Waaqayyoo ol fuudhan.
And he rose early Joshua in the morning and they lifted the priests [the] ark of Yahweh.
13 Luboonni torban malakata torba baatanis taabota Waaqayyoo dura deemaa malakatas afuufaa fuula duratti qajeelan. Loltoonni miʼa lolaa hidhatan isaan dura buʼan; loltoonni dugda duubaa immoo taabota Waaqayyoo duukaa buʼan; malakannis ittuma fufee afuufamaa ture.
And seven the priests [who] were carrying seven [the] trumpets of rams' horns before [the] ark of Yahweh [were] walking continuously and they gave blasts on the trumpets and the armed [man] [was] walking before them and the rearguard [was] walking behind [the] ark of Yahweh (walking *Q(K)*) and giving blasts on the trumpets.
14 Kanaafuu guyyaa lammaffaatti yeroo tokko magaalattii irra naannaʼanii gara qubataatti deebiʼan. Kanas bultii jaʼa hojjetan.
And they went around the city on the day second a time one and they returned the camp thus they did six days.
15 Guyyaa torbaffaatti ganama barii kaʼanii haaluma duraa sanaan yeroo torba magaalattii irra naannaʼan; isaan gaafuma sana qofa yeroo torba magaalattii irra naannaʼan.
And it was - on the day seventh and they rose early when came up the dawn and they went around the city according to the custom this seven times only on the day that they went round the city seven times.
16 Marsaa torbaffaatti yommuu luboonni malakata afuufanitti Iyyaasuun akkana jedhee namoota ajaje; “Iyyaa! Waaqayyo magaalattii isinii kenneeraatii!
And it was at the time seventh they gave a blast the priests on the trumpets and he said Joshua to the people shout for he has given Yahweh to you the city.
17 Magaalattii fi wanni ishee keessa jiru hundinuu Waaqayyoof addaan haa baafaman. Sababii isheen basaastota nu erganne sana dhoksiteef, Rahaab sagaagaltittiin qofti warra mana ishee keessa jiran hunda wajjin haa baraaramtu.
And it will be the city a devoted thing it and all that [is] in it to Yahweh only Rahab the prostitute she will live she and every [one] who [is] with her in the house for she hid the messengers whom we sent.
18 Isin garuu akka isaan keessaa tokko illee fudhattanii akkasiin badiisa ofitti hin fidneef waan laguu taʼe irraa fagaadhaa. Yoo kanaa achii isin qubata Israaʼeliitti iyyuu badiisa fiddanii rakkina irraan geessu.
And only you keep from the devoted thing[s] lest you should totally destroy and you will take any of the devoted thing[s] and you will make [the] camp of Israel into a devoted thing and you will trouble it.
19 Meetii fi warqeen hundi, miʼi naasiitii fi sibiilaa hundi sababii Waaqayyoof qulqulleeffamaniif mankuusa isaatti galuu qabu.”
And all - silver and gold and articles of bronze and iron [is] a holy thing it to Yahweh [the] treasury of Yahweh it will go.
20 Yommuu malakanni afuufametti namoonni ni iyyan; yommuu sagaleen malakata sanaa dhagaʼamee namoonnis sagalee guddaadhaan iyyanitti dallaan magaalaa sanaa ni kufe. Kanaafuu namni hundi fuul duratti girrisee seenuudhaan magaalaa sana qabate.
And it shouted the people and they gave a blast on the trumpets and it was when heard the people [the] sound of the trumpet and they shouted the people a shout loud and it fell the city wall in place its and it went up the people the city towards everyone before himself and they captured the city.
21 Isaanis waan magaalaa sana Waaqayyoof addaan baasaniif waan isa keessa jiru hunda jechuunis dhiiraa dubartii, xinnaa guddaa, loon, hoolotaa fi harroota goraadeedhaan fixan.
And they totally destroyed all that [was] in the city from man and unto woman from young man and unto old [man] and unto ox[en] and sheep and donkey[s] to [the] mouth of [the] sword.
22 Iyyaasuunis namoota lamaan biyya sana basaasanii turaniin, “Mana sagaagaltuu sanaa ol seenaatii akkuma isin isheef kakattanitti ishee fi warra kan ishee taʼan hunda gad baasaa fidaa” jedhe.
And to two the men who had spied out the land he said Joshua go [the] house of the woman the prostitute and bring out from there the woman and every [one] who [belongs] to her just as you swore to her.
23 Kanaafuu dargaggoonni basaasuu dhaqanii turan sun ol seenanii Rahaab, abbaa isheetii fi haadha ishee, obboloota isheetii fi waan kan ishee taʼe hundumaa gad baasan. Maatii ishee hundas alatti baasanii qubata Israaʼeliitiin ala isaan tursan.
And they went the young men who had spied out and they brought out Rahab and father her and mother her and brothers her and every [one] who [belonged] to her and all famili her they brought out and they put them from [the] outside of [the] camp of Israel.
24 Ergasii guutummaa magaalaa sanaatii fi waan ishee keessa jiru hunda guban; garuu meetii fi warqee, miʼa naasiitii fi sibiilaa mankuusa mana Waaqayyootti galchan.
And the city they burned with fire and all that [was] in it only - the silver and the gold and [the] articles of bronze and iron they put [the] treasury of [the] house of Yahweh.
25 Iyyaasuun garuu sababii isheen namoota inni akka basaasaniif gara Yerikootti ergee ture sana dhoksiteef Rahaab sagaagaltuu sana maatii isheetii fi waan kan ishee taʼe hunda wajjin ni baraare; isheenis hamma ammaatti Israaʼeloota gidduu jiraatti.
And Rahab the prostitute and [the] household of father her and every [one] who [belonged] to her he let live Joshua and she has dwelt in [the] midst of Israel until the day this for she hid the messengers whom he had sent Joshua to spy out Jericho.
26 Iyyaasuunis yeroo sanatti akkana jedhee kakate; “Namni magaalaa Yerikoo kana deebisee ijaaru fuula Waaqayyoo duratti abaaramaa haa taʼu: “Inni hundee ishee buusnaan, ilmi isaa hangafti haa duʼu; karra ishee ijaaruu jalqabnaan, ilmi isaa quxisuun haa duʼu.”
And he administered an oath Joshua at the time that saying [is] cursed the person before Yahweh who he will arise and he will rebuild the city this Jericho with firstborn his he will found it and with young [son] his he will set up gates its.
27 Kanaafuu Waaqayyo Iyyaasuu wajjin ture; maqaan isaas guutummaa biyyatii keessatti beekame.
And he was Yahweh with Joshua and it was [the] report of him in all the land.
