Yohannis 16
1 “Ani akka isin hin gufanneef jedhee wantoota kanneen isinitti himeera.
I have spoken these things to you, that you may not be offended.
2 Isaan mana sagadaa keessaa isin ariʼu; dhugumaan yeroon itti namni isin ajjeesu kam iyyuu akka waan Waaqa tajaajiluutti yaadu tokko ni dhufa.
They will put you out of the synagogues: but the hour is coming, that every one killing you may think he is offering service to God.
3 Isaanis waan Abbaa yookaan na hin beekiniif wantoota kanneen godhu.
And they will do these things, because they did not know the Father, nor me.
4 Anis akka isin yommuu yeroon sun gaʼutti isaan yaadattaniif wantoota kanneen isinitti himeera. Ani waanan isin wajjin tureef jalqabatti wantoota kanneen isinitti hin himne.
But I have spoken these things to you, that when the hour may come, you may remember them, that I did say them to you. But I said not these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you.
5 “Amma garuu ani gara isa na ergee nan dhaqa; taʼus isin keessaa namni, ‘Ati eessa dhaqxa?’ jedhee na gaafatu tokko iyyuu hin jiru.
But now I go to Him that sent me; and no one of you asks me, Whither goest thou?
6 Garuu waan ani wantoota kanneen isinitti himeef garaan keessan gaddaan guutameera.
But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.
7 Ani garuu dhuguman isinitti hima; deemuun koo buʼaa isiniif qaba; yoo ani deeme malee Jajjabeessaan sun gara keessan hin dhufu; ani yoon deeme garuu isa isiniif nan erga.
But now I tell you the truth; it is profitable to you that I may go away. For if I go not away, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I may go, I will send Him to you.
8 Innis yommuu dhufutti akka addunyaan waaʼee cubbuu, waaʼee qajeelummaatii fi waaʼee murtii dogoggoree jiru mirkaneessa;
And having come, He will convict the world concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment.
9 waaʼee cubbuu, sababii namoonni natti hin amanneef;
Concerning sin indeed, because they do not believe on me; and concerning righteousness;
10 waaʼee qajeelummaa, sababii ani gara Abbaa dhaquu fi sababii isinis siʼachi na hin argineef;
because I go to the Father, and you see me no more;
11 waaʼee murtii immoo sababii bulchaa addunyaa kanaatti murameef.
and concerning judgment, because the prince of this world has been condemned.
12 “Ani amma iyyuu waanan isinitti himu baayʼee qaba; isin garuu amma baachuu hin dandeessan.
I have many things to say to you, but you are not able to bear them now.
13 Hafuurri dhugaa sun yommuu dhufutti gara dhugaa hundaatti isin geessa. Inni waan dhagaʼu qofa dubbata malee ofuma isaatiin hin dubbatu; waan dhufuuf jirus isinitti hima.
But when He, the Spirit of truth, may come, He will guide you in all truth: for He will not speak from Himself; but so many things as He hears, He will speak: and will proclaim to you the things which are coming.
14 Inni sababii waanuma koo fuudhee isinitti beeksisuuf ulfina naa kenna.
He will glorify me: because He will receive from mine, and proclaim them unto you.
15 Wanni Abbaan qabu hundinuu kan koo ti. Inni waanuma koo fuudhee isinitti beeksisa jechuun koos kanumaaf.
And all things whatsoever the Father has are mine: therefore I said, that He takes from mine, and will proclaim them to you.
16 “Isin yeroo muraasa booddee na hin argitan; yeroo muraasa booddee immoo deebitanii na argitu.”
A little while, and ye see me no more; again a little while, and ye shall see me.
17 Barattoota isaa keessaas tokko tokko, “Inni, ‘Isin yeroo muraasaaf na hin argitan; yeroo muraasaaf immoo deebitanii na argitu’ akkanumas ‘Ani waanan gara Abbaa dhaquuf’ nuun jechuun isaa maal jechuu isaa ti?” waliin jedhan.
Then some of His disciples were saying to one another, What is this which He speaks to us, A little while, and you see me no more; and again a little while, and ye shall see me? and that I go to the Father?
18 Isaanis, “‘Yeroo muraasaaf’ jechuun isaa maal jechuu isaa ti? Maal jechuu isaa akka taʼe nu hin beeknu” jedhan.
Then they were speaking, What is this, Little while, of which He speaks? and we know not what He is talking about.
19 Yesuus immoo akka isaan isa gaafachuu barbaadan beekee akkana jedheen; “Wanni ani, ‘Isin yeroo muraasaaf na hin argitan; yeroo muraasaaf immoo deebitanii na argitu’ jedhe sun maal jechuu koo akka taʼe wal gaafachaa jirtuu?
Jesus knew that they wished to ask Him, and said to them, You are seeking with one another concerning this, because I said, A little while, and you see me no more, and again a little while, and you shall see me?
20 Ani dhuguman, dhuguman isinitti hima; isin ni boossu; ni gadittus. Addunyaan garuu ni gammada. Isin ni gadditu; gaddi keessan garuu gammachuutti ni geeddarama.
Truly, truly, I say unto you, that you will weep and mourn, and the world will rejoice; you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.
21 Dubartiin yommuu ciniinsifattu, waan yeroon ishee gaʼeef ni gadditi; erga daaʼima deessee booddee garuu waan addunyaa irratti namni dhalateef, isheenis waan gammadduuf dhiphina sana hin yaadattu.
When a woman may bring forth she has sorrow, because her hour has come: but when the little child may be born, she remembers her suffering no more, for the joy that a man has been born into the world.
22 Isinis akkasuma amma gadditaniirtu; ani garuu deebiʼeen isin ilaala; garaan keessanis ni gammada. Gammachuu keessanis eenyu iyyuu isin irraa hin fudhatu.
Therefore you indeed also now have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one taketh your joy from you.
23 Gaafas isin homaa na hin kadhattan. Ani dhuguman, dhuguman isinitti hima; Abbaan waan isin maqaa kootiin kadhattan kam iyyuu isinii kenna.
And in that day you will ask of me nothing. Truly, truly, I say unto you, Whatsoever you may ask the Father, He will give it to you in my name.
24 Isin hamma ammaatti maqaa kootiin homaa hin kadhanne. Akka gammachuun keessan guutuu taʼuuf kadhadhaa ni argattu.
Until now you have asked nothing in my name: ask, and you shall receive, in order that your joy may be full.
25 “Ani wantoota kanneen fakkeenyaan isinitti himeera; garuu yeroon ani deebiʼee fakkeenyaan isinitti hin dubbanne ni dhufa; yommus ani waaʼee Abbaa koo ifaan ifatti isinittin hima.
I have spoken these things unto you in parables; the hour comes, when I shall no longer speak to you in parables, but openly will I proclaim to you concerning the Father.
26 Isin gaafas maqaa kootiin ni kadhattu. Ani Abbaa isiniif nan kadhadha isiniin hin jedhu.
In that clay you shall ask in my name: and I do not say, that I will ask the Father for you;
27 Isin waan na jaallattaniif, Waaqa biraa baʼuu koo waan amantaniif Abbaan mataan isaa isin jaallata.
for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved me as a friend, and you have believed that I came out from God.
28 Ani Abbaa biraa baʼee gara addunyaa dhufeera; ammas addunyaa dhiisee gara Abbaa nan dhaqa.”
I came out from the Father, and have come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
29 Barattoonni isaas akkana jedhan; “Kunoo, ati amma iyyuu fakkeenyaan utuu hin taʼin ifaan ifatti dubbachaa jirta.
His disciples say; Behold, now you are talking openly, and speaking no parable.
30 Akka ati waan hunda beektuu fi akka namni tokko iyyuu gaaffii si gaafachuu hin barbaachifne nu amma ni beekna. Kanaanis nu akka ati Waaqa biraa baate ni amanna.”
Now we know that you know all things, and have no need that any one may ask you: in this we believe that you came out from God.
31 Yesuusis deebisee akkana jedheen; “Isin amma ni amantuu?
Jesus responded to them, Do you now believe?
32 Kunoo yeroon isin itti kophaatti na dhiiftanii tokkoon tokkoon keessan gara feetanitti bittinnooftan tokko ni dhufa. Ammuma iyyuu dhufeera. Garuu waan Abbaan koo na wajjin jiruuf ani kophaa koo miti.
Behold, the hour cometh, and is already come, that you must be scattered abroad, each one to his own place, and leave me alone: I am not alone, because the Father is with me.
33 “Akka isin anaan nagaa qabaattaniif ani wantoota kanneen isinitti himeera. Addunyaa kana irratti rakkinni isin argata. Garuu jabaadhaa! Ani addunyaa moʼadheeraa.”
I have spoken these things to you, in order that you may have peace in me. In the world you have tribulation: but take courage; I have conquered the world.
