< Iyyoob 23 >
1 Iyyoob akkana jedhee deebise:
Then responded Job, and said: —
2 “Harʼa iyyuu guungummiin koo hadhaaʼaa dha; yoo ani akkam aade iyyuu harki isaa natti ulfaateera.
Even to-day, is my complaint rebellion? His hand, is heavier than my groaning.
3 Ani utuun iddoo itti isa argadhu beekee, utuu iddoo inni jiraatu illee dhaquu dandaʼee!
Oh that I knew where I might find him! I would come even unto his dwelling-place;
4 Silaa dhimma koo fuula isaa duratti dhiʼeeffadhee afaan koo falmiin guuttadha ture.
I would set out, before him, a plea, and, my mouth, would I fill with arguments;
5 Waan inni naa deebisu nan beekan ture; waan inni naan jedhus nan hubadhan ture.
I would note the words wherewith he would respond to me, and would mark what he would say to me.
6 Inni humna isaa guddaa sanaan anaan mormaa? Lakki, na dhaggeeffata malee.
Would he, with fulness of might, contend with me? Nay, surely, he, would give heed to me!
7 Namni qajeelaan achuma fuula isaa duratti dhimma isaa ni dhiʼeeffata; anis isa natti muru jalaa bara baraan nan baʼa.
There an upright man, might reason with him, so should I deliver myself completely from my judge.
8 “Garuu yoo ani gara baʼa biiftuu deeme, inni achi hin jiru; ani yoo gara dhiʼaa dhaqes achitti isa hin argadhu.
Behold! eastward, I go, but he is not there, and, westward, but I perceive him not;
9 Yommuu inni kaabatti hojii irra jirutti ani isa hin argu; yommuu inni gara kibbaatti deebiʼuttis ani hamma libsuu ijaa isa arguu hin dandaʼu.
On the north, where he worketh, but I get no vision, He hideth himself on the south that I cannot see him.
10 Inni garuu karaa ani baʼu ni beeka; yommuu inni na qoruttis ani akka warqee taʼee nan mulʼadha.
But, he, knoweth the way that I choose, Having tried me, as gold, I shall come forth.
11 Miilli koo tarkaanfii isaatti dhiʼaatee duukaa buʼeera; ani utuun irraa hin gorin karaa isaa eegeera.
Of his steps, my foot taketh hold, His way, have I kept, and not swerved;
12 Ani ajaja afaan isaa irraa hin fagaanne; nyaata guyyaa guyyaa caalaas dubbii afaan isaa nan jaalladha.
The command of his lips, and would not go back, and, in my bosom, have I treasured the words of his lips.
13 “Inni garuu of dandaʼee kophaa isaa dhaabata; kan isaan mormuu dandaʼu eenyu? Inni waanuma jaallatu hojjeta.
But, he, is one, and who can turn him? What his soul desired, he hath done.
14 Inni waan natti mure ni raawwata; amma illee karoora akkanaa hedduu yaada isaa keessaa qaba.
Surely he will accomplish what is decreed for me, and, many such things, hath he in store.
15 Wanni ani fuula isaa duratti naʼuufis kanuma; ani yommuun waan kana hunda yaadutti isa nan sodaadha.
For this cause, from his presence, am I driven in fear, I diligently consider and am kept back from him in dread:
16 Waaqni garaa koo ni raase; Waaqni Waan Hunda Dandaʼu na sodaachise.
Yea, GOD, hath made timid my heart, and, the Almighty, hath put me in terror.
17 Haa taʼu malee dukkanni, dukkanni limixiin fuula koo haguugu iyyuu na hin barbadeessine.
Because I was not cut off before the darkness, nor, before my face, did the gloom form a shroud.
