< Isaayyaas 33 >
1 Yaa barbadeessaa, ati kan hin barbadeeffamin siif wayyoo! Yaa gantuu, ati kan hin ganamin siif wayyoo! Ati yommuu barbadeessuu dhiiftutti ni barbadeeffamta; yommuu ganuu dhiiftuttis ni ganamta.
Woe to you who destroy, but you weren’t destroyed, and who betray, but nobody betrayed you! When you have finished destroying, you will be destroyed; and when you have finished betrayal, you will be betrayed.
2 Yaa Waaqayyo, nu maari; nu si eeggannaa. Ati ganama ganama jabina keenya, yeroo dhiphinaatti immoo fayyina keenya nuuf taʼi.
LORD, be gracious to us. We have waited for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
3 Sagalee kakawwee keetiitiin, namoonni baqatu; yeroo ati ol kaatutti, saboonni ni bittinnaaʼu.
At the noise of the thunder, the peoples have fled. When you lift yourself up, the nations are scattered.
4 Yaa saboota, akkuma hawwaannisni walitti qabamu sana boojuun keessan walitti qabama; namoonnis akkuma tuuta hawwaannisaa irra uʼutaalu.
Your plunder will be gathered as the caterpillar gathers. Men will leap on it as locusts leap.
5 Waaqayyo ol ol jedha; inni ol gubbaa jiraataatii; inni murtii qajeelaa fi qajeelummaadhaan Xiyoonin guuta.
The LORD is exalted, for he dwells on high. He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness.
6 Inni bara keetiif hundee amansiisaa, kuusaa fayyinaa, kan ogummaatii fi kan beekumsaa taʼa; Waaqayyoon sodaachuun furtuu badhaadhummaa kanaa ti.
There will be stability in your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of the LORD is your treasure.
7 Kunoo gootonni isaanii sagalee ol fudhatanii daandii irratti iyyu; ergamoonni nagaas hiqqifatanii booʼu.
Behold, their valiant ones cry outside; the ambassadors of peace weep bitterly.
8 Karaawwan gurguddaan onaniiru; namni karaa irra deemu hin jiru. Walii galteen diigameera; dhuga baatonni ishee tuffatamaniiru; namni tokko iyyuu hin kabajamu.
The highways are desolate. The traveling man ceases. The covenant is broken. He has despised the cities. He doesn’t respect man.
9 Lafti ni boossi; ni barbadoofti; Libaanoon ni qaanofti; ni coollagdi; Shaaroon akka gammoojjii taati; Baashaanii fi Qarmeloos baala isaanii harcaafatu.
The land mourns and languishes. Lebanon is confounded and withers away. Sharon is like a desert, and Bashan and Carmel are stripped bare.
10 Waaqayyo akkana jedha; “Ani amma nan kaʼa; ani amma ol ol nan jedha; ani amma nan kabajama.
“Now I will arise,” says the LORD. “Now I will lift myself up. Now I will be exalted.
11 Isin habaqii ulfooftu; cidii deessu; hafuurri isin baafattan ibidda gubee isin fixuu dha.
You will conceive chaff. You will give birth to stubble. Your breath is a fire that will devour you.
12 Namoonni akkuma nooraa gubamu; akkuma qoraattii cirameettis ibiddi itti qabsiifama.”
The peoples will be like the burning of lime, like thorns that are cut down and burned in the fire.
13 Isin warri fagoo jirtan waan ani hojjedhe dhagaʼaa; warri dhiʼoo jirtanis humna koo beekaa!
Hear, you who are far off, what I have done; and, you who are near, acknowledge my might.”
14 Cubbamoonni Xiyoon keessaa ni sodaatu; warri Waaqatti hin bulles hollachaa, “Nu keessaa eenyutu ibidda waa balleessu wajjin jiraachuu dandaʼa? Nu keessaa eenyutu ibidda bara baraan hin dhaamne wajjin jiraachuu dandaʼa?” jedhu.
The sinners in Zion are afraid. Trembling has seized the godless ones. Who among us can live with the devouring fire? Who among us can live with everlasting burning?
15 Namni qajeelummaan jiraatee dhugaa dubbatu, kan faayidaa karaa dabaatiin argamu lagatee harka isaa mattaʼaa fudhachuu irraa eeggatu, namni marii nama ajjeesuu irraa gurra isaa cuqqaallatee jalʼina ilaaluu irraa ija isaa dunuunfatu,
He who walks righteously and speaks blamelessly, he who despises the gain of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing to take a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, and shuts his eyes from looking at evil—
16 iddoo ol kaʼaa irra jiraata; daʼannoon isaas kattaa jabaa taʼa. Buddeenni isaaf ni kennama; bishaanis isatti hin hirʼatu.
he will dwell on high. His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks. His bread will be supplied. His waters will be sure.
17 Iji kee mooticha miidhagummaa isaatiin arga; biyya fagoo jirtu illee ni ilaala.
Your eyes will see the king in his beauty. They will see a distant land.
18 Atis akkana jettee garaa keetti raafama durii sana yaadda: “Ajajaan ol aanaan sun eessa jira? Namichi gibira fuudhu sun eessa jira? Ajajaan itti gaafatamaan gamoowwanii eessa jira?”
Your heart will meditate on the terror. Where is he who counted? Where is he who weighed? Where is he who counted the towers?
19 Ati siʼachi saba hamaa, kan haasaan isaa namaaf hin galle, kan afaan isaa haaraa taʼee fi hin hubatamne hin argitu.
You will no longer see the fierce people, a people of a deep speech that you can’t comprehend, with a strange language that you can’t understand.
20 Xiyoon, magaalaa ayyaana keenyaa hubadhuu ilaali; iji kee Yerusaalemin, iddoo jireenyaa nagaa qabu, dunkaana hin buqqifamne arga; qofoon ishee hin buqqifamu; yookaan funyoon ishee tokko iyyuu hin citu.
Look at Zion, the city of our appointed festivals. Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a quiet habitation, a tent that won’t be removed. Its stakes will never be plucked up, nor will any of its cords be broken.
21 Waaqayyo achitti Humna keenya taʼa. Iddoon sunis akkuma lageen gurguddaatii fi burqaawwanii taʼa. Dooniin waraanaa kan batoodhaan oofamu tokko iyyuu isaan irra hin deemu; dooniin jabaan tokko iyyuu isaan irra hin qaxxaamuru.
But there the LORD will be with us in majesty, a place of wide rivers and streams, in which no galley with oars will go, neither will any gallant ship pass by there.
22 Waaqayyo abbaa murtii keenyaatii; Waaqayyo seera nuuf kenna; Waaqayyo mootii keenya; inni nu fayyisa.
For the LORD is our judge. The LORD is our lawgiver. The LORD is our king. He will save us.
23 Funyoon kee laafeera; utubaan isaa jabaatee hin dhaabamne; sharaanis hin diriirfamne. Ergasii boojuun baayʼeen ni qoodama; okkolaan iyyuu boojuu ni fudhata.
Your rigging is untied. They couldn’t strengthen the foot of their mast. They couldn’t spread the sail. Then the prey of a great plunder was divided. The lame took the prey.
24 Namni Xiyoon keessa jiraatu kam iyyuu, “Na dhukkuba” hin jedhu; cubbuun warra achi jiraatanis ni dhiifamaaf.
The inhabitant won’t say, “I am sick.” The people who dwell therein will be forgiven their iniquity.
