< Isaayyaas 23 >

1 Raajii waaʼee Xiiroos: Yaa dooniiwwan Tarshiishi wawwaadhaa! Xiiroos barbadooftee mana yookaan buufata doonii malee hafteertii. Biyya Qophroos oduun isaan qaqqabeera.
The prophecy concerning Tyre. Howl, ye ships of Tarshish! For it is laid waste; No house, no entrance is left! From the land of the Chittaeans were the tidings brought to them.
2 Isin jiraattoonni qarqara galaanaatii fi daldaltoonni Siidoonaa, warri galaana irra marmaaran isin sooromsan calʼisaa.
Be amazed, ye inhabitants of the sea-coast, Which the merchants of Sidon, that pass over the sea, did crowd!
3 Midhaan Shihoor bishaanota gurguddaa irraan dhufe; oomishni Abbayyaa Xiiroosiif galii ture; isheenis lafa gabaa kan sabootaa taate.
Upon the wide waters, the corn of the Nile, The harvest of the river, was her revenue; She was the mart of the nations.
4 Yaa Siidoonaa, yaa daʼannoo galaanaa qaanaʼi; galaanni akkana jedhee dubbateeraatii: “Ani hin ciniinsifanne yookaan hin deenye; ilmaan hin horanne yookaan intallan hin guddifanne.”
Be thou ashamed, O Sidon, for the sea hath spoken, The fortress of the sea hath spoken thus: “I have not travailed, nor brought forth children; I have not nourished youths, nor brought up virgins.”
5 Yeroo oduun gara Gibxi dhufutti isaan gabaasa Xiiroos irraa dhufuun ni dhiphatu.
When the tidings shall reach Egypt, They shall be filled with anguish at the tidings concerning Tyre.
6 Isin gara Tarshiishitti ceʼaa; yaa warra qarqara galaanaa jiraattan wawwaadhaa.
Pass ye over to Tarshish; Howl, ye inhabitants of the sea-coast!
7 Magaalaa dulloomtuun durii, kan miilli ishee ishee fuudhee, akka isheen biyya fagoo keessa qubattuuf ishee geesse kun, magaalaa kee ishee fandalaltuudhaa?
Is this your joyous city, Whose antiquity is of ancient days? Now her own feet bear her To sojourn far away.
8 Xiiroos ishee gonfoo nama gonfachiiftu kan daldaltoonni ishee ilmaan moototaa taʼan kan daldaltoonni ishee lafa irratti kabajamoo taʼanitti eenyutu waan kana karoorfate?
Who hath purposed this against Tyre, The dispenser of crowns, Whose merchants are princes, Whose traders the nobles of the earth?
9 Waaqayyoon Waan Hunda Dandaʼu of jaja ishee kan ulfina ishee hunda keessa jiru gad deebisuu fi warra lafa irratti kabajaman hunda salphisuuf waan kana karoorfateera.
Jehovah of hosts hath purposed it, To bring down the pride of all glory, To humble the nobles of the earth.
10 Yaa Intala Tarshiish, ati siʼachi buufata doonii hin qabaattuutii, lafa kee hamma Abbayyaa bira gaʼutti qotadhu.
Go over thy land like the Nile, O daughter of Tarshish! Now thy bonds are broken.
11 Waaqayyo harka isaa galaana irra qabee mootummoota hollachiiseera. Inni akka daʼannoowwan ishee diigamaniif waaʼee Kanaʼaan ajaja kenneera.
He hath stretched out his hand over the sea, He hath made the kingdoms tremble; Jehovah hath given commandment concerning Canaan To destroy her strong holds.
12 Innis akkana jedha; “Yaa Durba Siidoonaa, ati kana caalaa hin fandalaltu! “Kaʼiitii gara Qophiroositti ceʼi; ati achitti iyyuu boqonnaa hin argattu.”
He hath said, Thou shalt no more rejoice, Thou ravished virgin, daughter of Sidon! Arise, pass over to the Chittaeans; Yet even there shalt thou have no rest.
13 Mee biyya Baabilonotaa ilaali; uummanni kun amma seenaa hin qabu! Warri Asoor akka isheen iddoo jireenya uumamawwan gammoojjii taatu godhan; isaan siree eegumsaa ijaarratan; daʼannoowwan ishee qullaa hambisan; ishees ni barbadeessan.
Behold the land of the Chaldaeans, Who, not long ago, were not a people, —The Assyrian assigned it to the inhabitants of the wilderness, —They raise their watch-towers; They destroy her palaces; They make her a heap of ruins.
14 Yaa dooniiwwan Tarshiish wawwaadhaa; daʼannoon keessan barbadeeffameeraatii!
Howl, ye ships of Tarshish! For your stronghold is destroyed.
15 Yeroo sanaa jalqabee Xiiroos hamma waggaa torbaatamaatti ni dagatamti; kunis bara jireenya mootii tokkoo ti. Dhuma waggaa torbaatamman sanaatti garuu akkuma sirba sagaagaltuu tokkoof sirbame sanaatti Xiiroos irra gaʼa:
And it shall come to pass in that day, That Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, According to the days of one king; But at the end of seventy years It shall be with Tyre as in the song of the harlot:
16 “Yaa sagaagaltuu irraanfatamtuu, baganaa qabadhuutii magaalaa keessa naannaʼi; ati akka yaadatamtuuf baganaa sirriitti rukuti; sirba baayʼee sirbi.”
“Take thy lyre, go about the city, O harlot, long forgotten; Make sweet melody; sing many songs, That thou mayst again be remembered!”
17 Dhuma waggaa torbaatamaatti Waaqayyo Xiiroosin ni yaadata; isheenis gara daldala isheetti deebitee mootummoota fuula lafaa irra jiran hunda wajjin sagaagalti.
At the end of seventy years shall Jehovah show regard to Tyre, And she shall return to her hire, And play the harlot with all the kingdoms of the world, That are upon the face of the earth.
18 Taʼus buʼaan isheetii fi wanni isheen argattu Waaqayyoof addaan baafama; hin kuufamu; walittis hin qabamu. Buʼaan ishees warra fuula Waaqaa dura jiraataniif nyaata gaʼaa fi uffata babbareedaa taʼa.
But her gain and her hire shall be holy to Jehovah; It shall not be treasured, nor laid up in store; But it shall be for them that dwell before Jehovah, For abundant food, and for splendid clothing.
