1 Seerri gaaddidduu waan gaarii dhufuuf jiruu qofa malee bifa dhugaa miti. Kanaafuu seerichi aarsaa utuu wal irraa hin citin wagguma waggaan dhiʼeeffamu sanaan gonkumaa namoota waaqeffachuuf dhiʼaatan sana warra mudaa hin qabne gochuu hin dandaʼu.
For the law having the shadow of good things to come, not the real image of the things, annually with the same sacrifices which they offer continually, is by no means able to make perfect those coming to it:
2 Utuu isaan waan kana gochuu dandaʼanii silaa aarsaan dhiʼeeffamuun isaa ni hafa ture mitii? Waaqeffattoonnis siʼa tokko yeroo hundaaf ni qulqulleeffamu turaniitii; ergasii sababii cubbuu isaaniitiif yakki isaanitti hin dhagaʼamu ture.
since in that case would they not have ceased being offered, because the worshipers having once been purified would have had no more conscience of sins?
3 Aarsaawwan kunneen garuu wagguma waggaan cubbuu nama yaadachiisu.
But in the same sacrifices there is a remembrance of sins annually;
4 Sababiin isaas dhiigni korommiitii fi dhiigni reʼootaa gonkumaa cubbuu dhabamsiisuu hin dandaʼuutii.
for it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins.
5 Kanaafuu Kiristoos yommuu gara addunyaa dhufetti akkana jedhe: “Ati aarsaa fi kennaa hin feene; garuu dhagna naa qopheessite;
Therefore, coming into the world, he says; Sacrifice an offering thou willest not, but thou hast perfected for me a body:
6 ati aarsaa gubamuu fi kennaa sababii cubbuutiif dhiʼeeffamutti hin gammanne.
whole burnt offerings and offerings for sins thou wast not pleased with:
7 Yeroo sana ani, ‘Ani kunoo ti; waaʼeen koo kitaaba maramaa keessatti barreeffameera; yaa Waaqa ko, ani fedhii kee raawwachuuf dhufeera’ nan jedhe.”
then I said, Lo, I come in the volume of the Book it has been written of me to do thy will, O God.
8 Isaan akka seeraatti dhiʼeeffaman iyyuu inni jalqabatti, “Ati qalmawwanii fi aarsaawwan, aarsaawwan gubamanii fi aarsaawwan cubbuuf dhiʼeeffaman hin feene yookaan itti hin gammanne” jedhe.
Saying above, that Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and offerings for sin thou didst not will, neither wast well pleased with; whatsoever are offered according to law;
9 Ergasiis inni, “Ani kunoo fedhii kee raawwachuuf dhufeera” jedhe. Innis isa lammaffaa dhaabuuf jedhee isa jalqabaa dhabamsiise.
then he has said, Lo, I come to do thy will. He takes away the first, that he may establish the second;
10 Fedhii sanaanis nu aarsaa dhagna Yesuus Kiristoos isa siʼa tokko yeroo hundaaf dhiʼeeffameen qulqulleeffamneerra.
by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 Lubni hundinuu guyyuma guyyaan dhaabatee tajaajila isaa raawwata; aarsaa gonkumaa cubbuu dhabamsiisuu hin dandeenye sanas yeroo hunda dhiʼeessa.
And every high priest indeed stands daily ministering, and frequently offering the same sacrifices, which are never able to take away sins:
12 Lubni kun garuu erga aarsaa tokkicha bara baraan cubbuudhaaf dhiʼeessee booddee gara mirga Waaqaa taaʼe.
and he, having offered up one sacrifice for sins, forever sat down on the right hand of God;
13 Yeroo sanaa jalqabees hamma diinonni isaa ejjeta miilla isaa taasifamanitti ni eeggata;
finally waiting until his enemies may be made the foot-stool of his feet.
14 inni aarsaa tokkicha sanaan warra qulqulleeffamuutti jiran kanneen bara baraan mudaa hin qabne godheeraatii.
For by one offering he has forever perfected the sanctified.
15 Hafuurri Qulqulluunis waaʼee kanaa dhugaa nuu baʼa. Innis jalqabatti akkana jedha:
And the Holy Ghost truly does witness to us: for afterward he said,
16 “Kakuun ani yeroo sana booddee isaan wajjin galu kanaa dha, jedha Gooftaan. Ani seera koo qalbii isaanii keessa nan kaaʼa; garaa isaanii keessattis nan barreessa.”
This is the covenant that I will make unto them after these days, says the Lord; having given my laws on their hearts, and I will also write them in their mind;
17 Ammas, “Ani cubbuu fi yakka isaanii siʼachi hin yaadadhu” jedha.
and I will remember their sins and iniquities no more.
18 Iddoo isaan kunneen itti dhiifama argatanitti siʼachi sababii cubbuutiif aarsaa dhiʼeessuu hin barbaachisu.
But where there is removal of these, there is no more offering for sin.
19 Kanaafuu yaa obboloota, nu dhiiga Yesuusiin gara Iddoo Iddoo Hunda Caalaa Qulqulluu taʼeetti galuuf ija jabina waan qabnuuf
Then, brethren, having boldness unto the entering in of the holies through the blood of Jesus,
20 karaa haaraa fi jiraataa golgaa keessaan jechuunis karaa foon isaatiin nuu baname sanaan
by which he has opened unto us a new and living way, through the veil, that is, of his flesh,
21 waan luba guddaa mana Waaqaa irratti qabnuuf,
and having a great high priest over the house of God;
22 kottaa akka qalbiin keenya yaada yakka qabaachuu irraa qulqulleeffamuuf garaa keenyatti nuu facaafamee, dhagna keenyas bishaan qulqulluun dhiqannee garaa qulqulluu amantii mirkanaaʼaa guutuu qabuun Waaqatti dhiʼaannaa.
let us draw nigh with a true heart in a full assurance of faith, having been sprinkled as to our hearts from an evil conscience,
23 Inni waadaa gale sun waan amanamaa taʼeef kottaa nu utuu hin raafamin abdii dhugaa baanu sana jabeessinee qabannaa.
and washed as to our body with purifying water: let us hold fast the testimony of hope steadfast; for the one having promised is faithful;
24 Kottaa jaalalaa fi hojii gaariif wal kakaasuuf itti yaadnaa.
and let us recognize one another in the provocation of divine love and good works:
25 Akka namoonni tokko tokko walitti qabamuu dhiisan sana kottaa nu walitti qabamuu hin dhiifnuu; qooda kanaa akka guyyaan sun dhiʼaate waan argitaniif ittuma caalchifnee wal haa jajjabeessinu.
not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together as is the custom to some; but exhorting: and this the more, as you see the days drawing nigh.
26 Nu erga beekumsa dhugaa argannee booddee yoo beekaa ittuma fufnee cubbuu hojjenne, siʼachi aarsaan cubbuuf dhiʼeeffamu hin jiraatu;
For we sinning willingly after we have received the perfect knowledge of the truth, there is left no more sacrifice for sins,
27 garuu murtii fi ibidda hamaa diinota Waaqaa barbadeessu sodaan eeggachuu qofatu jiraata.
but a certain fearful anticipation of judgment and violence of fire, about to devour the adversaries.
28 Namni seera Musee tuffate kam iyyuu dhuga baatota lamaan yookaan sadiin gara laafina malee ajjeefama.
The one having rejected the law of Moses dies without mercy before two or three witnesses:
29 Nama Ilma Waaqaa irra ejjete, nama dhiiga kakuu kan ittiin qulqulleeffame sana akka waan qulqulluu hin taʼiniitti hedee fi nama Hafuura ayyaanaa arrabse tokko adabbii hammam caalaa guddaatu isaaf mala seetu?
of how much more terrible punishment, do you think, the one having trodden under foot the Son of God, and counted the blood of the covenant, by which he was sanctified, common, and insulted the Spirit of grace; be counted worthy!
30 Nu isa, “Haaloo baasuun kan koo ti; ani gatii nan deebisa” jedhe sana beeknaatii; akkasumas, “Gooftaan saba isaatti ni mura” jedhe.
For we know him who said, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay; and again, The Lord will judge his people.
31 Harka Waaqa jiraataatti kufuun sodaachisaa dha.
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
32 Bara duraa yeroo erga ifni isinii ifee booddee walʼaansoo dhiphinaa guddaa obsitanii keessa dhaabattan sana yaadadhaa.
But remember the former days, in which, you being illuminated by the Spirit, endured a great fight of afflictions;
33 Isin yeroo tokko tokko fuula namootaa duratti arrabsoo fi ariʼatamaaf saaxilamtanii turtan; yeroo kaan immoo namoota rakkinni akkasii irra gaʼe wajjin hirmaachaa turtan.
both indeed in reproaches and tribulations being exposed as a theater, and having become the companions of those being thus exercised.
34 Isin mataan keessan akka qabeenya wayyu kan hin dabarre qabdan waan beektaniif warra hidhaman wajjin dhiphattaniirtu; yommuu qabeenyi keessan saamamus gammachuudhaan fudhattaniirtu.
For you suffered along with the prisoners, and received with joy the spoliation of your goods, knowing that you have a better and abiding possession.
35 Kanaafuu ija jabina keessan isa gatii guddaa qabu sana hin gatinaa.
Therefore cast not away your confidence, which has great reward.
36 Yommuu fedhii Waaqaa raawwattanittis akka waan inni waadaa gale sana argattaniif obsuu isin barbaachisaatii.
For you have need of patience, in order that, having done the will of God, you will inherit the promise.
37 “Yeroo xinnoo keessatti, inni dhufuuf jiru ni dhufa; hin turus.”
For yet a little while, the one coming will come, and will not tarry.
38 Akkasumas, “Qajeelaan koo garuu amantiidhaan jiraata. Kan duubatti harkifatu immoo ani itti hin gammadu.”
My righteous man shall live by faith: and if he may draw back, my soul has no pleasure in him.
39 Nu garuu warra amananii lubbuu ofii oolfatan malee warra gara badiisaatti harkifatan miti.
But we are not of the drawing back unto perdition; but of faith unto the salvation of the soul.
