Galaatiyaa 3
1 Yaa warra Galaatiyaa gowwoota! Eenyutu falfala isinitti hojjete? Yesuus Kiristoos akka waan ijuma keessan duratti fannifameetti mulʼifamee hin turree?
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
2 Ani waan tokko qofa isin irraa barachuu nan barbaada: Isin seera eeguun moo waan dhageessan amanuun Hafuura Qulqulluu argattan?
This only would I learn from you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3 Isin akkas gowwaadhaa? Hafuura Qulqulluudhaan jalqabdanii amma immoo fooniin fixxuu ree?
Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
4 Kun dhugumaan iyyuu waan hin fayyadne taanaan isin waanuma hin fayyadneef hammana dhiphattanii ree?
Have ye suffered so many things in vain? if [it is] yet in vain.
5 Wanni Waaqni Hafuura isaa isinii kennee hojii dinqii gidduu keessanitti hojjetuuf sababii isin seera eegdaniif moo sababii isin waan dhageessan amantaniif?
He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, [doeth he this] by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
6 Akkasumas Abrahaam, “Waaqa amane; kunis qajeelummaatti lakkaaʼameef.”
Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
7 Kanaafuu warri amanan ijoollee Abrahaam akka taʼan hubadhaa.
Know ye therefore, that they who are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
8 Katabbiin Qulqulluun akka Waaqni amantiin Namoota Ormaa qajeeltota taasisu duraan dursee argee, “Sabni hundinuu karaa keetiin eebbifama” jedhee duraan dursee Abrahaamitti wangeela lallabe.
And the scripture foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel to Abraham, [saying], In thee shall all nations be blessed.
9 Kanaaf warri amantii qaban, Abrahaam nama amantii sana wajjin eebbifaman.
So then they who are of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
10 Warri seera eeguu isaanii abdatan hundinuu abaarsa jala jiru; “Namni waan Kitaaba Seeraa keessatti barreeffame hundaaf itti fufee hin ajajamne kam iyyuu abaaramaa dha” jedhamee barreeffameeraatii.
For as many as are of the works of the law, are under the curse: for it is written, Accursed [is] every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11 Waan, “Namni qajeelaan amantiidhaan jiraatuuf” akka eenyu iyyuu fuula Waaqaa duratti seeraan qajeelaa hin taasifamne ifa.
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, [is] evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
12 Seerri amantii irratti hin hundeeffamne; inni garuu, “Namni waan seerri ajaju godhu ittiin jiraata” jedha.
And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live by them.
13 Waan, “Namni muka irratti fannifamu kam iyyuu abaaramaa dha” jedhamee barreeffameef, Kiristoos nuuf jedhee abaarsa taʼuudhaan abaarsa seeraa irraa nu fure.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Accursed [is] every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 Inni akka nu amantiin Hafuura Qulqulluu waadaa kenname sana argannuuf, akka eebbi Abrahaamiif kenname sun karaa Kiristoos Yesuusiin gara Namoota Ormaa dhufuuf nu fure.
That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
15 Yaa obboloota, ani akka namaattin dubbadha. Kakuun namaa iyyuu erga yeroo tokko mirkaneeffamee booddee eenyu iyyuu hin tuffatu yookaan itti hin dabalu.
Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it is but a man's covenant, yet [if it is] confirmed, no man disannulleth or addeth to it.
16 Egaa Abrahaamii fi sanyii isaatiif waadaan galameera. Katabbiin Qulqulluun, akka waan nama hedduuf dubbatameetti, “Sanyiiwwan” hin jedhu; garuu akka waan nama tokkoof dubbatameetti, “Sanyii keetiif” jedha; innis Kiristoos.
Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
17 Wanni ani jedhus kana: Seerri waggaa 430 booddee dhufe sun kakuu Waaqni duraan dursee gale diigee akkasiin waadaa sana hin balleessu.
And this I say, [that] the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of no effect.
18 Dhaalli utuu karaa seeraatiin taʼee siʼachi waadaadhaan hin taʼu ture; Waaqni garuu ayyaana isaatiin waadaadhaan Abrahaamiif dhaala kenne.
For if the inheritance [is] by the law, [it is] no more by promise: but God gave [it] to Abraham by promise.
19 Yoos seerri maaliif kenname ree? Seerri sababii yakka hamma Sanyiin waadaan kennameef sun dhufutti tureetiif kenname. Seerri sunis karaa ergamootaatiin harka araarsaa gidduu galeessa tokkootiin hojii irra oolfame.
What purpose then [serveth] the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; [and it was] ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
20 Taʼus araarsaan gidduu galeessi tokko garee tokko qofaaf hin dhaabatu; Waaqni garuu tokkichuma.
Now a mediator is not a [mediator] of one; but God is one.
21 Kanaafuu seerri waadaa Waaqaatiin mormaa ree? Gonkumaa akkas miti! Utuu seerri jireenya kennuu dandaʼu kennamee jiraatee silaa qajeelummaan dhugumaan seeraan argama tureetii.
[Is] the law then against the promises of God? By no means: for if there had been a law given which could give life, verily righteousness would have been by the law.
22 Katabbiin Qulqulluun garuu akka wanni karaa Yesuus Kiristoositti amanuutiin waadaa galame sun warra amananiif kennamuuf waan hundumaa cubbuu akka hidhamaa godhe labsa.
But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.
23 Utuu amantiin hin dhufiniin dura hamma amantiin mulʼifamutti seera jalatti hidhamnee nutti cufamee turre.
But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up to the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24 Kanaafuu akka nu amantiin qajeeltota taasifamnuuf Kiristoositti nu geessuuf seerri guddiftuu keenya ture.
Wherefore the law was our school-master [to bring us] to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 Amma garuu waan amantiin dhufeef nu siʼachi guddiftuu jala hin jiraannu.
But after faith is come, we are no longer under a school-master.
26 Hundi keessan amantii Kiristoos Yesuusitti qabdaniin ijoollee Waaqaa ti;
For ye are all children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 isin warri Kiristoositti cuuphamtan hundi Kiristoosin uffattaniirtuutii.
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ, have put on Christ.
28 Yihuudii yookaan Giriik, garba yookaan birmaduu, dhiira yookaan dubartii jechuun hin jiru; hundi keessan Kiristoos Yesuusiin tokkumaatii.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
29 Erga kan Kiristoos taatanii yoos isin sanyii Abrahaam; akka waadaattis dhaaltota.
And if ye [are] Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
