Hisqiʼeel 36
1 “Yaa ilma namaa, akkana jedhii tulluuwwan Israaʼeliitiif raaji; ‘Yaa tulluuwwan Israaʼel, dubbii Waaqayyoo dhagaʼaa.
Thou therefore. Son of man, Prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, —and thou shalt say, Ye mountains of Israel Hear ye the word of Yahweh.
2 Waaqayyo Gooftaan akkana jedha: Diinni waaʼee keessan, “Ishoo! Iddoowwan ol kaʼoon durii dhuunfaa keenya taʼaniiru” jedhe.’
Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, Because the enemy hath said concerning you Aha! Even the high places of age-past times, for a possession have become ours
3 Kanaafuu raajiitii akkana jedhi; ‘Waaqayyo Gooftaan akkana jedha: Sababii isaan qixa hundaan marsanii isin waraananiif, isin saboota kaaniif dhuunfaa taatan; namootaafis waan mammaaksaatii fi waan qoosaa taatan;
Therefore, prophesy, and thou shalt say, Thus saith My Lord Yahweh-Because even because they have desolated and panted for you on every side That ye should become a possession to the rest of the nations, And ye have come up into the talk of the tongue and the slander of the people
4 kanaafuu yaa tulluuwwan Israaʼel, dubbii Waaqayyo Gooftaa dhagaʼaa: Waaqayyo Gooftaan tulluuwwanii fi gaarraniin, lageenii fi sululawwaniin, onawwan diigamanii fi magaalaawwan duwwaa hafan kanneen saboota naannoo keessan jiraniin saamamanii waan qoosaa taʼaniin akkana jedha:
Therefore ye mountains of Israel, hear ye the word of My Lord Yahweh, — Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, To the mountains and to the hills, to the channels and to the valleys, and to the desolate waste places and to the cities that are forsaken, which have become a prey and a derision, to the rest of the nations which are on every side:
5 Waaqayyo Gooftaan akkana jedha: Ani aarii koo kan bobaʼu sanaan saboota hafanii fi Edoom hunda irratti dubbadheera; isaan gammachuu fi tuffii garaadhaa qabaniin lafa dheeda ishee saamuuf jedhanii biyya koo handhuuraa ofii isaanii godhatan.’
Therefore, Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, Surely in the fire of my jealousy, have I spoken against the rest of the nations and against Edom all of it, — Who have given my land to themselves for a possession, In the rejoicing of all the heart In contempt of soul, To make of its produce a prey.
6 Kanaafuu waaʼee biyya Israaʼeliif raajii dubbadhuutii tulluuwwanii fi gaarraniin, lageenii fi sululawwaniin akkana jedhi; ‘Waaqayyo Gooftaan akkana jedha: Sababii isin sabootaan tuffatamtaniif, ani hinaaffaa dheekkamsa kootiitiin nan dubbadha.
Therefore prophesy, concerning the soil of Israel, —and say to the mountains and to the hills to the channels and to the valleys, Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Behold me! In my jealousy and in mine indignation, have I spoken, Because the insult of the nations, ye have borne;
7 Kanaafuu Waaqayyo Gooftaan akkana jedha: Ani akka saboonni naannoo keessan jiraatani tuffatamaniif harka koo ol qabadhee nan kakadha.
Therefore Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, I myself have lifted my hand, - Surely the nations which are yours round about, they their own shame, shall bear:
8 “‘Yaa tulluuwwan Israaʼel, isin garuu saba koo Israaʼeliif dameewwanii fi ijawwan naqattu; isaan dhiʼeenyatti biyyatti ni deebiʼuutii.
But ye O mountains of Israel Your boughs, shall ye shoot forth, And your fruit, shall ye bear For my people Israel, For they have drawn near to enter.
9 Ani isiniif nan yaada; gara laafinaanis isinan ilaala; isin ni qotamtu; sanyiinis isinitti facaafama;
For lo! I am towards you, Therefore will I turn towards you, And ye shall be tilled and sown;
10 ani lakkoobsa uummataa kan guutummaa mana Israaʼel nan baayʼisa. Magaalaawwan namaan ni guutamu; wanni diigames deebiʼee ni ijaarama.
And I will multiply, upon you—men, All the house of Israel All of it, Then shall the cities be inhabited, And the waste places, shall be built,
11 Ani lakkoobsa namootaatii fi horii irratti nan dabala; isaanis wal horanii baayʼatu. Ani akkuma bara durii sana namoota isin irra qubachiisee kan durii caalaa isinan sooromsa. Ergasii isin akka ani Waaqayyo taʼe ni beektu.
And I will multiply upon you—man and beast, And they shall multiply and be fruitful, — And I will cause you to be inhabited as in your former estates. And will do you more good than at your beginnings, So shall ye know that am Yahweh;
12 Ani akka namoonni jechuunis sabni koo Israaʼel isin irra deemu nan godha. Isaan isin dhuunfatu; isinis dhaala isaanii ni taatu; lammatas warra ijoollee hin qabne isaan hin gootan.
And I will bring upon you—men even my people Israel That they may possess thee, So shalt thou be theirs, as an inheritance, -And thou shalt no more again make them childless.
13 “‘Waaqayyo Gooftaan akkana jedha: Namoonni, “Ati nama nyaatta; saba kees ijoollee malee hambifta” siin jedhu;
Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, Because they are saying to you. A devourer of men, thou art, And one that didst make childless thy nations, hast thou been
14 ati garuu siʼachi nama hin nyaattu yookaan saba kee ijoollee malee hin hambiftu, jedha Waaqayyo Gooftaan.
Therefore, men, shalt thou not devour any more, - And thy nations, shalt thou make childless no more, Declareth My Lord Yahweh;
15 Ani siʼachi akka ati doorsisa sabootaa dhageessu hin godhu; siʼachi ati tuffii namootaatiin hin dhiphattu yookaan akka sabni kee gufatu hin gootu, jedha Waaqayyo Gooftaan.’”
And I will not suffer to be heard against thee any more, the insult of the nations, And the reproach of the peoples, shalt thou not bear any more, - And thy nations, shalt thou not cause to stumble any more, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
16 Ammas dubbiin Waaqayyoo akkana jedhee gara koo dhufe:
And the word of Yahweh came unto me saying:
17 “Yaa ilma namaa, namoonni Israaʼel yeroo biyya isaanii keessa jiraachaa turanitti amala isaaniitii fi hojii isaaniitiin biyyattii xureessan. Amalli isaanii fuula koo duratti akkuma laguu dubartii kan jiʼa jiʼaan itti dhufu sanaa ture.
Son of man The house of Israel were dwelling upon their own soil, But they defiled it by their way, and by their doings. Like the defilement of her that is removed, became their way before me.
18 Sababii isaan biyyaattii keessatti dhiiga dhangalaasanii fi sababii waaqota isaanii tolfamoodhaan biyyattii xureessaniif, ani dheekkamsa koo isaanitti nan roobse.
So I poured out mine indignation upon them, Because of the blood which they had shed upon the land, - Yea with their manufactured gods, had they defiled it.
19 Ani saboota keessa isaan nan faffacaase; isaanis biyyoota keessa bittinnaaʼan; ani akkuma amala isaaniitii fi hojii isaaniitti isaanitti nan mure.
So I dispersed them among the nations, And they were scattered throughout the lands, — According to their way and according to their doings, I judged them.
20 Iddoo dhaqan hundatti saboota keessatti maqaa koo qulqulluu sana xureessan; waaʼee isaanii, ‘Jarri kun saba Waaqayyoo ti; isaan garuu biyya isaatii baʼaniiru’ jedhameeraatii.
But when they entered among the nations where they did enter, then profaned they my holy Name, —in that it was said of them The people of Yahweh, these! Yet from his land, have they come forth!
21 Ani maqaa koo qulqulluu manni Israaʼel iddoo dhaqan hundatti saboota gidduutti xureessan sanaaf yaadeera.
So then I had tender regard for my holy Name, - Which the house of Israel had profaned, among the nations, where they had entered.
22 “Kanaafuu mana Israaʼeliin akkana jedhi; ‘Waaqayyo Gooftaan akkana jedha: Yaa mana Israaʼel, ani waaʼee maqaa koo qulqulluu isin iddoo dhaqxanitti saboota gidduutti xureessitan sanaatiif malee isiniif jedhee wantoota kanneen hin godhu.
Therefore say thou to the house of Israel Thus saith My Lord Yahweh, Not for your sakes, am I working. O house of Israel, But for my holy Name which ye have profaned, among the nations where ye have entered;
23 Ani qulqullina maqaa koo guddichaa kan saboota gidduutti xuraaʼe kan isin saboota gidduutti xureessitan sana nan argisiisa. Yommuu ani karaa keessaniin fuula isaanii duratti qulqulluu taʼuu koo argisiisutti akka ani Waaqayyo taʼe saboonni ni beeku, jedha Waaqayyo Gooftaan.
Therefore will I hallow my great Name, that hath been profaned among the nations, which ye have profaned in their midst, -So shall the nations know that I am Yahweh Declareth My Lord, Yahweh, When I have hallowed myself in you, before their eyes.
24 “‘Ani saboota keessaa isinan baafadhaatii; ani biyyoota keessaa walitti isin qabee biyya keessanitti deebisee isinan fida.
Therefore will I take you from among the nations, And gather you out of all the lands, - And will bring you upon your own soil;
25 Ani bishaan qulqulluu isinitti nan facaasa; isinis ni qulqullooftu; ani xuraaʼummaa keessan hunda irraa fi waaqota keessan tolfamoo hunda irraa isinan qulqulleessa.
And I will throw upon you clean water and ye shall be clean, — From all your uncleannesses and from all your manufactured gods, will I cleanse you;
26 Ani onnee haaraa isiniif nan kenna; hafuura haaraas isin keessa nan kaaʼa; onnee dhagaa isin keessaa baasee onnee foonii isiniif nan kenna.
And I will give you a new heart, And a new spirit, will I put within you, -And I will take away the heart of stone out of your flesh, And will give you a heart of flesh;
27 Akka isin dambii koo duukaa buutanii fi seera koo sirriitti eegdaniif ani Hafuura koo isin keessa nan kaaʼa.
And my spirit, will I put within you, And will cause That in my statutes, ye shall walk, And my regulations, ye shall observe, and do;
28 Isin biyya ani abbootii keessaniif kenne keessa ni jiraattu; isin saba koo ni taatu; anis Waaqa keessan nan taʼa.
And ye shall dwell in the land which I gave to your fathers, - And ye shall become my people, And I will become your God;
29 Ani xuraaʼummaa keessan hunda irraa isinan qulqulleessa. Ani midhaan nan waama; nan baayʼisas; beelas isinitti hin fidu.
And I will save you out of all your uncleannesses, —And will call for the corn and will increase it, And will not lay upon you famine; And I will save you out of all your uncleannesses, —And will call for the corn and will increase it, And will not lay upon you famine;
30 Akka isin siʼachi sababii beelaatiin fuula sabootaa duratti hin salphanneef, ija mukkeeniitii fi midhaan lafa qotiisaa nan baayʼisa.
And I will multiply The fruit of the tree, and The increase of the field, — To the end that ye may not receive any more the reproach of famine among the nations.
31 Ergasiis karaa hammina keessaniitii fi hojii jalʼina keessanii ni yaadattu; sababii cubbuu keessaniitii fi hojii keessan jibbisiisaa sanaatiifis of balfitu.
Then shall ye call to mind Your ways that were wicked, and Your doings that were not good, - And shall become loathsome in your own sight. For your iniquities and For your abominations.
32 Akka ani waan kana isiniif jedhee hin hojjetin akka beektan nan barbaada, jedha Waaqayyo Gooftaan. Yaa mana Israaʼel, waaʼee amala keessaniitiif qaanaʼaa; saalfadhaas!
Not for your sakes, am I working, Declareth My Lord Yahweh be it known to you, — Turn ye pale and then blush for your ways. O house of Israel.
33 “‘Waaqayyo Gooftaan akkana jedha: Ani gaafan cubbuu keessan hunda irraa isin qulqulleessutti, akka magaalaawwan keessan deebiʼanii lafa jireenyaa taʼa nan godha; kanneen diigamanis deebiʼanii ijaaramu.
Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, In the day when I cleanse you, from all your iniquities, Then will I cause the cities to be inhabited, And the waste places shall be built;
34 Lafti onee ture qooda fuula namoota karaa sanaan darban hunda duratti onee hafu ni qotama.
And the land that was made desolate shall be tilled, — Whereas it was a desolation, before the eyes of every passer-by;
35 Isaan, “Lafti ona ture kun akka lafa biqiltuu Eeden taʼeera; magaalaawwan diigamanii, onanii barbadaaʼanis amma dallaan itti ijaaramee namaan guutamaniiru” jedhu.
And they shall say, This land that was made desolate hath become like the garden of Eden, - And the cities that were waste and deserted and thrown down, now fenced, are inhabited;
36 Ergasii namoonni hafan kanneen naannoo kee jiraatan akka ani Waaqayyo waan barbadaaʼe deebisee ijaaree waan ones deebisee dhaabe ni beeku. Ani Waaqayyo dubbadheera; nan raawwadhas.’
So shall the nations that may be left remaining round about you know that, I Yahweh— Have built that which was thrown down, and Have planted that which was made desolate, — I Yahweh, have spoken and performed.
37 “Waaqayyo Gooftaan akkana jedha: Ammas kadhannaa mana Israaʼel dhagaʼee waan kana isaaniif nan godha: Namoota isaanii akkuma hoolotaa nan baayʼisa;
Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Even yet—for this, will I be prevailed upon by the house of Israel to work for them, — I will multiply them-Like a flock—with men:
38 akkuma bushaayee yeroo ayyaanaa Yerusaalem keessatti aarsaaf dhiʼeeffamaniitti nan baayʼisa. Kanaafuu magaalaawwan diigamanii turan waldaa namootaatiin ni guutamu. Ergasii isaan akka ani Waaqayyo taʼe ni beeku.”
Like a flock of holy offerings Like the flock of Jerusalem in her appointed feasts, So, shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men, - And they shall know that, I, am Yahweh.
