Efesoon 2

1 Isin irra daddarbaa keessanii fi cubbuu keessaniin duutanii turtan;

You were made alive when you were dead in transgressions and sins,

2 kunis isuma isin yeroo jireenya addunyaa kanaatii fi bulchaa mootummaa qilleensaa jechuunis hafuura amma iyyuu warra hin ajajamne keessatti hojjetu duukaa buutanitti keessa jiraachaa turtanii dha. (aiōn g165)

in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience. (aiōn g165)

3 Hundi keenyas yeroo tokko dharraa foon keenyaa guutaa, hawwii fi yaada isaa duukaa buʼaa isaan gidduu jiraanne. Uumama keenyaanis akkuma warra kaanii dheekkamsa jala turre.

We also all once lived amongst them in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.

4 Garuu Waaqni araaraan guutame sun sababii jaalala guddaa nuu qabuuf,

But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,

5 yeroo nu irra daddarbaa keenyaan duunee turretti illee Kiristoos wajjin jiraattota nu taasise; isinis ayyaanaan fayyina argattan.

even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—

6 Waaqnis Kiristoos wajjin duʼaa nu kaase; karaa Kiristoos Yesuusiinis isa wajjin iddoo samii irra nu teessise;

and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

7 innis bara dhufuuf jiru keessa badhaadhummaa ayyaana isaa kan gita hin qabne sana arjummaa karaa Kiristoos Yesuusiin nuuf qabu argisiisuuf jedhee waan kana godhe. (aiōn g165)

that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness towards us in Christ Jesus; (aiōn g165)

8 Isinis ayyaanaan karaa amantiitiin fayyitaniirtuutii; kunis kennaa Waaqaati malee hojii ofii keessanii miti;

for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

9 akka namni tokko iyyuu of hin jajneefis kun hojiidhaan miti.

not of works, that no one would boast.

10 Nu hojii harka isaatii; hojii gaarii Waaqni duraan dursee akka nu hojjennuuf qopheesse sana akka hojjennuufis karaa Kiristoos Yesuusiin uumamne.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.

11 Kanaaf isin warri durumaa dhalootaan Namoota Ormaa taatan akka warra dhagna qabaa harka namaatiin dhagna namaa irratti hojjetamuun, “Nu warra dhagna qabatee dha” ofiin jedhan biratti “Warra dhagna hin qabatin” jedhamtanii waamamtan sana yaadadhaa;

Therefore remember that once you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “uncircumcision” by that which is called “circumcision” (in the flesh, made by hands),

12 isin akka yeroo sana Kiristoos irraa cittanii, lammummaa Israaʼel keessaa baafamtanii, kakuu waadaatiifis keessumoota taatanii, abdii malee, Waaqa malees addunyaa keessa turtan yaadadhaa.

that you were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

13 Amma garuu isin warri yeroo tokko fagoo turtan Kiristoos Yesuusiin dhiiga Kiristoosiin dhiʼeeffamtaniirtu.

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ.

14 Kiristoos nagaa keenyaatii; innis dallaa diinummaa kan gargar baasu sana diigee jara lamaanuu tokko godheera;

For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of separation,

15 inni foon ofiitiin seera ajajaa fi sirna isaa wajjin diigeera. Kaayyoon isaas jara lamaan keessaa ofuma isaatiin nama haaraa tokko uumee akkasiin nagaa buusuudhaan

having abolished in his flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace,

16 fannoo ittiin diinummaa isaanii ajjeese sanaan lamaan isaanii iyyuu dhagna tokko godhee Waaqatti araarse.

and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility through it.

17 Innis dhufee isin warra fagoo turtanitti nagaa, warra dhiʼoo turanittis nagaa lallabe.

He came and preached peace to you who were far off and to those who were near.

18 Nu lamaanuu karaa isaatiin Hafuura tokkicha sanaan akka itti Abbaa bira geenyu qabnaatii.

For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.

19 Kanaafuu isin siʼachi saba Waaqaa wajjin lammii fi miseensota warra mana Waaqaa jiraataniiti malee ormaa fi alagoota miti;

So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God,

20 isin hundee ergamootaa fi raajotaa irratti ijaaramtaniirtu; Kiristoos Yesuus ofii isaatii mataa dhagaa golee ti.

being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone;

21 Karaa isaas ijaarsi sun guutuun tokkummaan wal qabatee mana qulqullummaa qulqulluu taʼuuf Gooftaadhaan guddata.

in whom the whole building, fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord;

22 Isinis isumaan mana Waaqni Hafuura isaatiin keessa jiraatu taatanii tokkummaadhaan ijaaramaa jirtu.

in whom you also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.
