1 Musee fi maanguddoonni Israaʼel akkana jedhanii saba ajajan; “Ajajawwan ani harʼa isiniif kennu kanneen hunda eegaa.
Moses [Drawn out] and the elders of Israel [God prevails] enjoined the people, saying, “Keep all the mitzvot ·instructions· and statutes which I enjoin you today.
2 Erga biyya Waaqayyo Waaqni kee siif kennutti galuuf Yordaanos ceetanii booddee dhagoota gurguddaa dhaabiitii nooraa dibi.
It shall be on the day when you shall pass over the Jordan [Descender] to the land which Adonai your God gives you, that you shall set yourself up great stones, and coat them with plaster.
3 Yommuu akkuma Waaqayyo Waaqni abbootii keetii si abdachiisetti biyya aannanii fi dammi keessaa burqu kan Waaqayyo Waaqni kee siif kennutti galuuf ceetutti dubbiiwwan seera kanaa hunda dhagoota irratti barreessi.
You shall write on them all the words of this Torah ·Teaching·, when you have passed over; that you may go in to the land which Adonai your God gives you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as Adonai, the God of your fathers, has promised you.
4 Ati erga Yordaanos ceetee booddee akkuma ani harʼa si ajajutti dhagoota kanneen Tulluu Eebaal irra dhaabii nooraa dibi.
It shall be, when you have crossed over the Jordan [Descender], that you shall set up these stones, which I enjoin you today, on Mount Ebal, and you shall coat them with plaster.
5 Achittis Waaqayyo Waaqa keetiif iddoo aarsaa kan dhagaa irraa hojjetame dhaabi; miʼa sibiilaa tokko iyyuu hin fayyadamin.
There you shall build an altar to Adonai your God, an altar of stones. You shall not use any iron tool on them.
6 Iddoo aarsaa Waaqayyoo Waaqa keetii dhagaa hin soofaminiin hojjedhu; achi irrattis Waaqayyo Waaqa keetiif aarsaa gubamu dhiʼeessi.
You shall build Adonai your God’s altar of uncut stones. You shall offer burnt offerings on it to Adonai your God.
7 Achittis aarsaa nagaa qalii nyaadhuutii fuula Waaqayyo Waaqa keetii duratti gammadi.
You shall sacrifice peace offerings, and shall eat there. You shall rejoice before Adonai your God.
8 Dhagoota irratti dubbiiwwan seera kanaa hunda ibsii barreessi.”
You shall write on the stones all the words of this Torah ·Teaching· very plainly.”
9 Musee fi Lewwonni luboota taʼan Israaʼeloota hundaan akkana jedhan; “Yaa Israaʼel, calʼisii dhagaʼi! Ati harʼa saba Waaqayyo Waaqa keetii taateerta.
Moses [Drawn out] and the priests the Levites [Descendants of United with] spoke to all Israel [God prevails], saying, “Be silent, and sh'ma ·hear obey·, Israel [God prevails]! Today you have become the people of Adonai your God.
10 Waaqayyo Waaqa keetiif ajajamiitii ajajawwan isaatii fi qajeelchawwan ani harʼa siif kennu dhagaʼi.”
You shall therefore sh'ma ·hear obey· Adonai your God’s voice, and do his instructions and his statutes, which I enjoin you today.”
11 Museenis gaafasuma akkana jedhee saba ajaje:
Moses [Drawn out] enjoined the people the same day, saying,
12 Yommuu isin Yordaanosin ceetanitti gosoonni Simiʼoon, Lewwii, Yihuudaa, Yisaakor, Yoosefii fi kan Beniyaam saba eebbisuuf gaara Gerziim irra haa dhaabatan.
“These shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people, when you have crossed over the Jordan [Descender]: Simeon [Hearing], Levi [United with], Judah [Praised], Issachar [Hire, Reward], Joseph [May he add], and Benjamin [Son of right hand, Son of south].
13 Gosoonni Ruubeen, Gaad, Aasheer, Zebuuloon, Daanii fi Niftaalem immoo abaaruuf Tulluu Eebaal irra haa dhaabatan.
These shall stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben [See, a son!], Gad [Good fortune], Asher [Happy], Zebulun [Living together], Dan [He judged], and Naphtali [My wrestling].
14 Lewwonni sagalee isaanii ol fudhatanii akkana jedhanii saba Israaʼel hundatti haa labsan:
With a loud voice, the Levites [Descendants of United with] shall say to all the men of Israel [God prevails],
15 “Namni fakkii soofu yookaan baqsee Waaqa tolfamaa jechuunis waan fuula Waaqayyoo duratti balfamaa taʼe hojjetu kan waan ogummaa harkaatiin hojjetame dhoksee ol dhaabu haa abaaramu.” Ergasiis sabni hundi, “Ameen!” haa jedhu.
‘Cursed is the man who makes an engraved or molten image, an abomination to Adonai, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.’ All the people shall answer and say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’
16 “Namni abbaa isaa yookaan haadha isaa qaanessu haa abaaramu.” Ergasiis sabni hundi, “Ameen!” haa jedhu.
‘Cursed is he who dishonors his father or his mother.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’
17 “Namni dhagaa daarii ollaa isaa dhiibu haa abaaramu.” Ergasiis sabni hundi, “Ameen!” haa jedhu.
‘Cursed is he who removes his neighbor’s landmark.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’
18 “Namni nama jaamaa karaa irraa jalʼisu haa abaaramu.” Ergasiis sabni hundi, “Ameen!” haa jedhu.
‘Cursed is he who leads the blind astray, intoxicated, unintentional sin ·error· on the road.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’
19 “Namni murtii alagaa, ijoollee abbaa hin qabneetii fi niitota dhirsoonni isaanii irraa duʼanii jalʼisu haa abaaramu.” Ergasiis sabni hundi, “Ameen!” haa jedhu.
‘Cursed is he who withholds mishpat ·justice· from the foreigner, orphan, and widow.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’
20 “Namni niitii abbaa isaa wajjin ciisu haa abaaramu; inni siree abbaa isaa xureesseeraatii.” Ergasiis sabni hundi, “Ameen!” haa jedhu.
‘Cursed is he who lies with his father’s wife, because he dishonors his father’s bed.’ ‘All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’
21 “Namni horii kam iyyuu wajjin wal bira gaʼu haa abaaramu.” Ergasiis sabni hundi, “Ameen!” haa jedhu.
‘Cursed is he who lies with any kind of animal.’ ‘All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’
22 “Namni obboleettii isaa intala abbaa isaa yookaan intala haadha isaa wajjin ciisu haa abaaramu.” Ergasiis sabni hundi, “Ameen!” haa jedhu.
‘Cursed is he who lies with his sister, his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter.’ ‘All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’
23 “Namni haadha niitii isaa wajjin ciisu haa abaaramu.” Ergasiis sabni hundi, “Ameen!” haa jedhu.
‘Cursed is he who lies with his mother-in-law.’ ‘All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’
24 “Namni dhoksaadhaan ollaa isaa ajjeesu haa abaaramu.” Ergasiis sabni hundi, “Ameen!” haa jedhu.
‘Cursed is he who secretly kills his neighbor.’ ‘All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’
25 “Namni nama qulqulluu ajjeesuuf jedhee mattaʼaa fudhatu haa abaaramu.” Ergasiis sabni hundi, “Ameen!” haa jedhu.
‘Cursed is he who takes a bribe to kill an innocent person.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen ·So be it·.’
26 “Namni dubbiiwwan seera kanaa eeguudhaan jabaatee hin dhaabanne haa abaaramu.” Ergasiis sabni hundi, “Ameen!” haa jedhu.
‘Cursed is he who does not uphold the words of this Torah ·Teaching· by doing them.’ ‘All the people shall say, “Amen ·So be it·.’”
