1 Nebukadnezar Mootichi fakkii warqee kan dheerinni isaa dhundhuma jaatamaa fi balʼinni isaa dhundhuma jaʼaa hojjetee kutaa biyyaa Baabilon keessa dirree Duuraa jedhamu irra dhaabe.
Nebuchadnezzar the king, made an image of gold, the height thereof, sixty cubits, the breadth thereof, six cubits, —he set it up in the valley of Dura, in the province of Babylon.
2 Ergasii mootichi akka isaan eebba fakkii inni dhaabe sanaa irratti argamaniif ilmaan mootota, muudamoota, bulchitoota gorsitoota, itti gaafatamtoota mankuusa qabeenyaa, abbootii murtii, hayyoota seeraatii fi qondaaltota biyya hundaa waame.
And, Nebuchadnezzar the king, sent to gather together the satraps, the nobles and the pashas, the chief judges, the treasurers, the judges, the lawyers, and all the rulers of the province, —to come to the dedication of the image, which Nebuchadnezzar the king, had set up.
3 Kanaafuu eebba fakkii Nebukadnezar Mootichi dhaabe sanaa irratti argamuuf ilmaan moototaa, muudamoonni, bulchitoonni, gorsitoonni, itti gaafatamtoonni mankuusa qabeenyaa, abbootiin murtii hayyoonni seeraa biraatii fi qondaaltonni biyyaa hundi walitti qabamanii fuula fakkii sanaa dura dhadhaabatan.
Then were gathered together, the satraps, the nobles and the pashas, the chief judges, the treasurers, the judges, the lawyers, and all the rulers of the province, to the dedication of the image, which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up, —and they stood before the image, which Nebuchadnezzar, had set up.
4 Kana irratti labsituun tokko akkana jedhee sagalee guddaadhaan labse; “Yaa namoota, sabootaa fi namoonni afaan garaa garaa dubbattan hundi, wanni isin akka gootan ajajamtan kanaa dha:
And, the herald, proclaimed aloud, —To you, is given the word, O ye peoples, races, and tongues:
5 Isin akkuma sagalee gaanfaa, ulullee, masiinqoo, kiraaraa, baganaa, kan faaggaatii fi sirbaa dhageessaniin addaan lafatti gombifamtanii fakkii warqee kan Nebukadnezar Mootichi dhaabeef sagaduu qabdu.
At what time ye shall hear the sound of the horn, the pipe, the lyre, the harp, the psaltery, the bagpipes, and all kinds of instruments of music, ye shall fall down and adore the image of gold, which Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up;
6 Namni addaan lafatti gombifamee hin sagadne kam iyyuu yoosuma boolla ibiddi keessaa balaliʼutti darbatama.”
and, whosoever shall not fall down and adore, shall, instantly, be cast into the burning furnace of fire.
7 Kanaafuu namoonni, saboonnii fi namoonni afaan garaa garaa dubbatan hundi yommuu sagalee gaanfaa, ulullee, masiinqoo, kiraaraa, baganaa fi sirbaa hunda dhagaʼanitti addaan lafatti gombifamanii fakkii warqee kan Nebukadnezar Mootichi dhaabe sanaaf sagadan.
Wherefore, at the same time—when all the peoples heard the sound of the horn, the pipe, the lyre, the harp, the psaltery, and all kinds of instruments of music, they were falling down—even all the peoples, the races, and the tongues, —adoring the image of gold, which Nebuchadnezzar the king, had set up.
8 Yeroo kanatti Kaldoonni tokko tokko gara fuula duraatti dhufanii dabaan Yihuudoota himatan.
Wherefore, at the same time, drew near certain Chaldeans, —and accused the Jews:
9 Isaanis Nebukadnezar Mootichaan akkana jedhan; “Yaa mootii, ati bara baraan jiraadhu!
they spake, and said, to Nebuchadnezzar the king: O king! for ages, live!
10 Yaa mootii, ati akka namni kam iyyuu yommuu sagalee gaanfaa, ulullee, masiinqoo, kiraaraa, baganaa kan faaggaatii fi kan sirbaa dhagaʼu kam iyyuu addaan lafatti gombifamee fakkii warqee sanaaf sagaduu qabu seera baafteerta;
Thou thyself, O king, hast made a decree, that, any man who shall hear the sound of the horn, the pipe, the lyre, the harp, the psaltery and the bagpipes, and all kinds of instruments of music, shall fall down and adore the image of gold;
11 akka namni lafatti gombifamee sagaduu didu kam iyyuus boolla ibiddi keessaa balaliʼutti darbatamu seera baafteerta.
and, whosoever shall not fall down and adore, shall be cast into the burning furnace of fire.
12 Garuu yaa Mooticha, Yihuudoonni ati dhimma biyya Baabilon irratti muudde tokko tokko ajaja kee didaniiru; isaanis Shaadraak, Meeshakii fi Abdanaagoo dha. Isaan waaqota kee hin tajaajilan yookaan fakkii warqee ati dhaabdeef hin sagadan.”
There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the business of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, —these men, have made thee, O king, of no account, thy god, they serve not, and, the image of gold which thou hast set up, do they not adore.
13 Nebukadnezaris akka malee aaree Shaadraak, Meeshakii fi Abdanaagoo waamsise. Kanaafuu namoonni kunneen mooticha duratti dhiʼeeffaman;
Then, Nebuchadnezzar—with anger and wrath, gave word to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, then, these men, brought they before the king.
14 Nebukadnezaris akkana isaaniin jedhe; “Yaa Shaadraak, Meeshakii fi Abdanaagoo, isin dhugumaan waaqota koo hin tajaajiltanii? Yookaan fakkii warqee ani dhaabeef hin sagaddanii?
Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it, with design, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, —that, my god, ye are not serving, and, the image which I have set up, are not adoring?
15 Amma isin yeroo sagalee gaanfaa, ulullee, masiinqoo, kiraaraa, baganaa, kan faaggaatii fi sirba kam iyyuu dhageessanitti kuftanii fakkii ani dhaabeef yoo sagaddan gaarii dha. Garuu yoo isin sagaduu baattan, yoosuma boolla ibiddi keessaa balaliʼutti darbatamtu. Egaa waaqa kamitu harka kootii isin baasuu dandaʼa?”
Now, if ye be ready, at what time ye shall hear the sound of the cornet, the pipe, the lyre, the harp, the psaltery and the bagpipes, and all the instruments of music, ye shall fall down and adore the image which I have made, but, if ye shall not adore, instantly, shall ye be cast into the midst of the burning furnace of fire, —and who is the god that shall deliver you out of my hands?
16 Shaadraak, Meeshakii fi Abdanaagoon deebisanii mootichaan akkana jedhan; “Yaa Nebukadnezar, nu fuula kee duratti waan kana falmachuu hin barbaannu.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego answered, and said to the king: O Nebuchadnezzar! we are not accounting it needful, concerning this, to answer thee.
17 Yaa Mootii, nu yoo boolla ibiddi keessaa balaliʼutti darbatamne, Waaqni nu isa tajaajillu sun nu oolchuu dandaʼa; harka keetii illee nu baasuu dandaʼa.
If it is, our God, whom we serve, is able to deliver us, —out of the burning furnace of fire, and out of thy hand, O king, he will deliver.
18 Yaa Mootii, yoo inni nu baasuu baate iyyuu nu waaqota kee akka hin tajaajille yookaan fakkii warqee ati dhaabde sanaaf akka hin sagadne akka beektu barbaanna.”
But, if not, be it known to thee, O king, —that, thy god, will we not serve, and, the image of gold which thou hast set up, will we not adore.
19 Kana irratti Nebukadnezar akka malee aaree fuulli isaa Shaadraak, Meeshakii fi Abdanaagootti geeddarame. Akka ibiddi boollaa sunis hamma durii caalaa harka torba hoʼee finiinu ajaje;
Then, Nebuchadnezzar, was filled with wrath, and, the likeness of his countenance, was changed, against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, —he spake and gave word to heat the furnace seven times hotter than it was ever seen heated;
20 akka isaan Shaadraak, Meeshakii fi Abdanaagoo hidhanii boolla ibiddi keessaa bobaʼu sanatti darbataniif loltoota isaa keessaa jajjaboo tokko tokko ajaje.
and, to men, who were the mightiest men in his army, gave he word to bind fast Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, —to cast them into the burning furnace of fire.
21 Kanaafuu namoonni kunneen akkuma wandaboo isaanii, fiddoo isaanii, marata isaanii kan mataatii fi uffata biraas uffatanitti hidhamanii boolla ibiddi keessaa balaliʼu sanatti darbataman.
Then bound they, these men, in their trousers, their tunics, and their cloaks, and their (other) clothing, —and cast into the midst of the burning furnace of fire.
22 Ajajni mootichaa akka malee ariifachiisaa ture; sababii ibiddi boollaa sun akka malee bobaʼaa tureef arrabni ibidda sanaa loltoota Shaadraak, Meeshakii fi Abdanaagoo geessan sana fixe;
Therefore, because the word of the king had raged forth, and the furnace was exceeding hot, those very men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, were slain by the flame of the fire;
23 namoonni sadan kunneenis jabeeffamanii hidhamanii boolla ibiddi keessaa balaliʼu sana keessatti kufan.
and, these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, fell down into the midst of the burning furnace of fire, fast bound.
24 Nebukadnezar Mootichi dinqisiifachuudhaan utaalee kaʼee, “Namoonni nu hiinee ibiddatti darbanne sadii hin turree?” jedhee gorsitoota isaa gaafate. Isaanis, “Yaa Mootii, kun dhuguma” jedhanii deebisan.
Then, Nebuchadnezzar the king, was amazed, and rose up in haste: he spake and said to his nearest friends—Were there not three men, we cast into the midst of the fire, fast bound? They answered and said to the king, Surely, O king!
25 Innis, “Ilaa! Ani namoota ibidda keessa deddeebiʼan afur nan arga; isaanis hin hidhamne; hin miidhamnes; inni afuraffaan immoo ilma waaqotaa fakkaata” jedheen.
He answered and said, Lo! I, see four men, unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and, injury, there is not in them, and, the appearance of the fourth, is like to a son of the gods!
26 Nebukadnezaris gara afaan boolla ibiddi keessaa bobaʼutti dhiʼaatee sagalee guddaadhaan, “Yaa Shaadraak, Meeshakii fi Abdanaagoo, tajaajiltoota Waaqa Waan Hundaa Olii, kottaa baʼaa! As kottaa” jedhe. Akkasiin Shaadraak, Meeshakii fi Abdanaagoon ibidda keessaa baʼan;
Then did Nebuchadnezzar, draw near, to the door of the burning furnace of fire, he spake and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, ye servants of the most high God, step forth and come hither. Then stepped forth Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, out of the midst of the fire.
27 ilmaan moototaa, muudamoonni, bulchitoonnii fi gorsitoonni mootii naannoo isaaniitti walitti qabaman. Isaanis akka ibiddi sun dhagna jaraa hin miidhin yookaan akka rifeensa mataa isaanii keessaa tokko iyyuu hin gubatin ni argan; wandaboon isaanii iyyuu homaa hin taane; fooliin ibiddaas isaan irra hin turre.
And—being gathered together—the satraps, the nobles, and the pashas and near friends of the king, saw these men, over whose bodies the fire had, no power, nor was, a hair of their head, singed, neither were, their trousers, disfigured, —nor had, the smell of fire, come upon them.
28 Kana irratti Nebukadnezar akkana jedhe; “Waaqa Shaadraak, Meeshakii fi Abdanaagoo isa ergamaa isaa ergee tajaajiltoota isaa baraareef galanni haa taʼu! Isaan isa amanatanii ajaja mootii didanii akka Waaqa isaanii malee waaqota biraa hin tajaajille yookaan hin waaqeffanne lubbuu isaanii dabarsanii kennaniiru.
Nebuchadnezzar spake and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, who hath sent his messenger, and delivered his servants, who trusted in him, —when, the word of the king, they transgressed, and delivered up their bodies, that they might not serve nor adore any god, saving their own God.
29 Kanaafuu Waaqni akkasitti nama oolchu kan biraa Waaqa hin jirreef, ani akka uummanni saba kamii iyyuu yookaan afaan kamii iyyuu yoo Waaqa Shaadraak, Meeshakii fi Abdanaagoo irratti waan hamaa dubbate kukkutamu, akka manni isaas tuullaa waan diigamee taʼu labseera.”
Therefore do I make a decree, that, whosoever of any people, race, or tongue it be that shall charge any error upon the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, shall be cut in pieces, and, his house, into a dunghill, shall be changed; because there is no other God, who is able to deliver, like this!
30 Ergasii mootichi Shaadraak, Meeshakii fi Abdanaagoo kutaa biyyaa Baabilon irratti muude.
Then, the king, advanced Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, in the province of Babylon.
