Qolosaayis 2
1 Akka ani isiniif, warra Lodooqiyaa jiranii fi warra fooniin fuula koo hin argin hundaafis jedhee hammam carraaqaa jiru isin akka beektan nan barbaada.
For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and [for] them at Laodicea, and [for] as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
2 Kunis akka isaan jaalalaan tokko taʼanii garaan isaanii jajjabeeffamuuf, akka isaan badhaadhummaa hubannaa guutuu qabaatanii icciitii Waaqaa jechuunis Kiristoosin beekaniif;
That their hearts may be comforted, being knit together in love, and to all riches of the full assurance of understanding to the acknowledgment of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
3 badhaadhummaan ogummaa fi beekumsaa hundinuus isuma keessa dhokfameera.
In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 Anis akka namni tokko iyyuu afaan tolee isin hin gowwoomsineef waan kana isinittin hima.
And this I say, lest any man should deceive you with enticing words.
5 Ani yoon fooniin isin irraa fagaadhe illee hafuuraan isin wajjin waanan jiruuf, isin hammam naamusa qabeeyyii akka taatanii fi amantiin isin Kiristoositti qabdanis hammam cimaa akka taʼe arguu kootiif nan gammada.
For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.
6 Yoos akkuma Kiristoos Yesuus Goofticha fudhattanitti isatti jiraadhaa;
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, [so] walk ye in him:
7 akkuma barattan sanatti hidda keessan isa keessatti gad fageeffadhaatii isa irratti ijaaramaa; amantiittis jabaadhaa; galata guutee dhangalaʼus dhiʼeessaa.
Rooted and built up in him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
8 Eenyu iyyuu barsiisa waaʼee Kiristoos irratti hundeeffameen utuu hin taʼin falaasama faayidaa hin qabnee fi gowwoomsaa, kan bartee namaatii fi qajeelfama addunyaa kanaa irratti hundeeffameen akka isin hin boojine of eeggadhaa.
Beware lest any man make a prey of you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 Guutummaan Waaqummaa hundinuu fooniin Kiristoos keessa jiraataatii;
For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.
10 isinis Kiristoos isa humnaa fi taayitaa hunda irratti mataa taʼe sanaan guutamtaniirtu.
And ye are complete in him, who is the head of all principality and power:
11 Isumaanis foon cubbamaa taʼe sana of irraa gattanii dhagna qabattaniirtu; dhagna qabaan kunis dhagna qabaa harka namaatiin taʼe utuu hin taʼin kan Kiristoosiin taʼee dha;
In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 isinis cuuphaadhaan isa wajjin awwaalamtanii humna Waaqaa kan Kiristoosin warra duʼan keessaa isa kaasetti amanuu keessaniin cuuphaadhuma sanaan isa wajjin kaafamtaniirtu.
Buried with him in baptism, in which also ye are raised with [him] through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
13 Yeroo isin cubbuu keessanii fi foon keessan kan dhagna hin qabamin sanaan duutanii turtanitti Waaqni Kiristoos wajjin jiraattota isin taasise. Cubbuu keenya hundas nuu dhiise;
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he made alive together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
14 innis himata idaa keenya kan seeraa kan nuun mormuu fi nutti muru sana haqee mismaaraan fannootti diree dhabamsiise.
Blotting out the hand-writing of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 Innis humnootaa fi taayitaawwan fannoodhaan moʼate hidhannoo hiikkachiisuudhaan ifa baasee uummatatti isaan argisiise.
[And] having despoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 Kanaafuu eenyu iyyuu waan nyaattanii fi waan dhugdaniin yookaan waaʼee ayyaanaatiin yookaan waaʼee Baatii Haaraatiin yookaan waaʼee Sanbataatiin isinitti hin murin.
Let no man therefore judge you in food, or in drink, or in respect of a holy-day, or or the new-moon, or of the sabbaths:
17 Isaan kunneen gaaddidduu waan dhufuuf jiruu ti; dhugaan isaa garuu Kiristoos keessa jira.
Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body [is] of Christ.
18 Namni sobee gad of qabuu fi ergamoota waaqeffachuu jaallatu kam iyyuu badhaasa isin hin dhabsiisin. Namni akkasii waan arge hunda baayʼisee odeessa; sababii malee yaada foon isaatiin of tuula.
Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshiping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
19 Innis mataa isa dhagni guutuun ittiin soorame, hiddaa fi ribuu isaatiinis walitti hidhamee guddina Waaqni kennuufiin guddatu sana irraa citeera.
And not holding the head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
20 Isin erga Kiristoos wajjin qajeelfama hundee kan addunyaa kanaatiif duutanii maaliif akka waan amma iyyuu kan addunyaa taataniitti sirna isaatiif bultu ree?
Wherefore, if ye are dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
21 Innis, “Harkaan hin qabatin! Hin dhandhamin! Hin tuqin!” jedha.
(Touch not; taste not; handle not;
22 Isaanis waan ajajaa fi barsiisa namaa irratti hundeeffamaniif yeroo hojii irra oolanitti baduuf murteeffamaniiru.
Which all are to perish with the using; ) according to the commandments and doctrines of men?
23 Sirni kunis dhugumaan of dirqisiisuun waaqeffachuu isaanii, gad of qabuu sobaatii fi foon isaanii miidhuu isaaniitiin bifa ogummaa qaba; hawwii foonii dhowwuuf garuu faayidaa tokko illee hin qabu.
Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will-worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh.
