1 Ergamoonnii fi obboloonni Yihuudaa keessa jiran akka Namoonni Ormaas dubbii Waaqaa fudhatan dhagaʼan.
Now the apostles and the brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.
2 Kanaaf yommuu Phexros Yerusaalemitti ol baʼetti amantoonni dhagna qabatan isaan morman;
And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,
3 akkanas jedhan; “Ati maaliif mana namoota dhagna hin qabatinii dhaqxee isaan wajjin nyaatte?”
saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.
4 Phexrosis akkana jedhee waan taʼe sana tokko tokkoon isaanii ibsuu jalqabe.
But Peter began, and expounded [the matter] unto them in order, saying,
5 “Ani magaalaa Yoophee keessatti kadhannaa irran ture; akka waan yaadaan fudhatamuus taʼee waan akka wayyaa balʼaa tokko isaa roga isaa afraniin qabamee samii irraa gad buufamu mulʼataan arge. Innis iddoo ani turetti gad dhufe.
I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, a certain vessel descending, as it were a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even unto me:
6 Anis xiyyeeffadhee ilaalee bineensota miilla afurii, bineensota bosonaa, uumamawwan lafa irra looʼanii fi simbirroota samii nan arge.
upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw the fourfooted beasts of the earth and wild beasts and creeping things and fowls of the heaven.
7 Anis sagalee, ‘Yaa Phexros, kaʼiitii qaladhuu nyaadhu’ naan jedhu tokkon dhagaʼe.
And I heard also a voice saying unto me, Rise, Peter; kill and eat.
8 “Ani garuu deebisee, ‘Yaa Gooftaa, hin taʼu! Takkumaa wanni balfamaan yookaan wanni xuraaʼaan tokko iyyuu afaan koo hin seenne’ jedhe.
But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath ever entered into my mouth.
9 “Sagaleen sunis yeroo lammaffaa samii irraa, ‘Ati waan Waaqni qulqulleesseen xuraaʼaa hin jedhin’ jedhe.
But a voice answered the second time out of heaven, What God hath cleansed, make not thou common.
10 Wanni kunis yeroo sadii taʼe; kana booddees hundumti isaa amma illee samiitti ol fudhatame.
And this was done thrice: and all were drawn up again into heaven.
11 “Yommusuma namoonni Qiisaariyaadhaa natti ergaman sadii mana ani jiraachaa ture sana dura dhaabatan.
And behold, forthwith three men stood before the house in which we were, having been sent from Caesarea unto me.
12 Hafuurri Qulqulluunis akka ani shakkii tokko malee isaan wajjin deemu natti hime. Obboloonni kunneen jaʼaanis na wajjin deeman; nus mana namichaa ol seenne.
And the Spirit bade me go with them, making no distinction. And these six brethren also accompanied me; and we entered into the man’s house:
13 Innis akka ergamaa Waaqaa kan mana isaa keessatti itti mulʼate tokko arge nutti hime; ergamaan sunis akkana isaan jedhe; ‘Yoopheetti nama ergiitii Simoon isa Phexros jedhamu sana waamsisi;
and he told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, and saying, Send to Joppa, and fetch Simon, whose surname is Peter;
14 inni ergaa sii fi namoonni mana keetii hundinuu ittiin fayyitan sitti hima.’
who shall speak unto thee words, whereby thou shalt be saved, thou and all thy house.
15 “Akkuma ani dubbachuu jalqabeen, Hafuurri Qulqulluun akkuma jalqabatti nurra buʼe sana isaan irras buʼe.
And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, even as on us at the beginning.
16 Anis waan Gooftaan, ‘Yohannis bishaaniin cuuphe; isin garuu Hafuura Qulqulluudhaan cuuphamtu’ jedhee ture sana nan yaadadhe.
And I remembered the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.
17 Kanaafuu erga Waaqni kennaadhuma yeroo nu gooftaa Yesuus Kiristoositti amanne nuu kenne sana isaaniifis kennee Waaqaan mormuuf ani eenyu?”
If then God gave unto them the like gift as [he did] also unto us, when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?
18 Isaanis waan kana dhagaʼanii calʼisan; “Yoos Waaqni qalbii jijjiirratanii jiraachuu Namoota Ormaatiifis kenneera” jedhanii Waaqa galateeffatan.
And when they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then to the Gentiles also hath God granted repentance unto life.
19 Warri sababii ariʼatama Isxifaanositti kaʼeetiin bittinnaaʼanii turan sun ergaa sana Yihuudoota qofatti himaa hamma Finiiqee, Qophiroosii fi Anxookiiyaatti deeman.
They therefore that were scattered abroad upon the tribulation that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phoenicia, and Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to none save only to Jews.
20 Isaan keessaa namoonni Qophiroosii fi Qareenaa irraa dhufan tokko tokko garuu Anxookiiyaa dhaqanii oduu gaarii waaʼee Gooftaa Yesuus Giriikotattis himuu jalqaban.
But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Greeks also, preaching the Lord Jesus.
21 Harki Gooftaa isaan wajjin ture; namoonni hedduunis amananii Gooftaatti deebiʼan.
And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number that believed turned unto the Lord.
22 Oduun kunis gurra waldaa kiristaanaa ishee Yerusaalem jirtuu seene; isaanis Barnaabaasin Anxookiiyaatti ergan.
And the report concerning them came to the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas as far as Antioch:
23 Innis yommuu achi gaʼee Ayyaana Waaqaa argetti ni gammade; akka isaan garaa tokkoon Gooftaaf amanamanii jiraataniifis isaan hunda jajjabeesse.
who, when he was come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad; and he exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord:
24 Inni nama gaarii Hafuura Qulqulluu fi amantiidhaan guutame ture; namoonni baayʼeenis Gooftaatti dabalaman.
for he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.
25 Barnaabaasis Saaʼolin barbaaduuf jedhee Xarsees dhaqe;
And he went forth to Tarsus to seek for Saul:
26 Yommuu isa argettis Anxookiiyaatti isa geesse. Isaanis waggaa tokko guutuu waldaa sanaan wal gaʼanii namoota baayʼee barsiisan. Barattoonnis yeroo jalqabaatiif Anxookiiyaatti, “Kiristaana” jedhaman.
and when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that even for a whole year they were gathered together with the church, and taught much people; and that the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
27 Gidduudhuma sana raajonni tokko tokko Yerusaalemii kaʼanii Anxookiiyaatti gad buʼan.
Now in these days there came down prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.
28 Isaan keessaas namichi Agaaboos jedhamu tokko kaʼee dhaabatee akka beelli guddaan isaa addunyaa hunda irratti buʼu Hafuuraan dubbate. Wanni kunis bara moʼumsa Qilaawudewoos Qeesaar keessa taʼe.
And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be a great famine over all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius.
29 Barattoonnis tokkoon tokkoon isaanii akkuma dandeettii isaaniitti obboloota Yihuudaa keessa jiraatan gargaaruu murteessan.
And the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren that dwelt in Judaea:
30 Isaanis harka Barnaabaasii fi harka Saaʼolitti gargaarsa isaanii maanguddootaatti erguun gargaarsa kennan.
which also they did, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
