1 Phaawulos isa akkuma waadaa jireenya karaa Kiristoos Yesuusiin galame sanaatti fedhii Waaqaatiin ergamaa Kiristoos Yesuus taʼe irraa,
Paul an Apostle of Iesus Christ, by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Iesus,
2 Gara Xiimotewos, ilma koo jaallatamaatti: Abbaa keenya Waaqaa fi Gooftaa keenya Kiristoos Yesuus irraa ayyaanni, araarrii fi nagaan siif haa taʼu.
To Timotheus my beloued sonne: Grace, mercie and peace from God the Father, and from Iesus Christ our Lord.
3 Ani yommuu utuu gargar hin kutin halkanii guyyaa kadhannaa koo keessatti si yaadadhutti Waaqa akkuma abbootii kootii anis yaada qulqulluun isa waaqeffadhu sana nan galateeffadha.
I thanke God, whom I serue from mine elders with pure conscience, that without ceasing I haue remembrance of thee in my praiers night and day,
4 Ani yommuun imimmaan kee yaadadhutti akka gammachuudhaan guutamuuf guddisee si arguu nan hawwa.
Desiring to see thee, mindefull of thy teares, that I may be filled with ioy:
5 Ani amantii kee isa dhugaa sana nan yaadadha; amantiin kunis jalqabatti akkoo kee Looʼisii fi haadha kee Ewuunqee keessa ture; amma immoo akka si keessa jiru nan amana.
When I call to remembrance the vnfained faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and in thy mother Eunice, and am assured that it dwelleth in thee also.
6 Sababii kanaaf ani akka ati kennaa Waaqaa kan yeroo ani harka koo sirra kaaʼetti siif kenname sana akka ibiddaatti akka qabsiiftuuf sin yaadachiisa.
Wherefore, I put thee in remembrance that thou stirre vp the gift of God which is in thee, by the putting on of mine hands.
7 Waaqni hafuura humnaa, kan jaalalaatii fi kan of dhowwuu nuu kenne malee hafuura sodaa nuuf hin kennineetii.
For God hath not giuen to vs the Spirite of feare, but of power, and of loue, and of a sound minde.
8 Kanaafuu waaʼee Gooftaa keenyaa dhugaa baʼuutti yookaan ana nama isaaf jedhee hidhametti hin qaanaʼin. Wangeelaaf dhiphachuu keessatti garuu humna Waaqaatiin na wajjin hirmaadhu;
Be not therefore ashamed of the testimonie of our Lord, neither of me his prisoner: but be partaker of the afflictions of the Gospel, according to the power of God,
9 Waaqni sababii kaayyoo isaatii fi sababii ayyaana isaatiif nu fayyisee gara jireenya qulqulluutti nu waame malee sababii hojii nu hojjenne kamiif iyyuu miti. Ayyaanni kunis uumama addunyaatiin dura karaa Kiristoos Yesuusiin nuu kenname; (aiōnios g166)
Who hath saued vs, and called vs with an holy calling, not according to our workes, but according to his owne purpose and grace, which was giuen to vs through Christ Iesus before the world was, (aiōnios g166)
10 amma garuu ayyaanni sun dhufaatii Fayyisaa keenya Kiristoos Yesuus isa karaa wangeelaatiin duʼa balleessee jireenyaa fi badiisa ooluu ifatti baase sanaatiin mulʼifameera.
But is nowe made manifest by that appearing of our Sauiour Iesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortalitie vnto light through the Gospel.
11 Anis wangeela kanaaf lallabaa, ergamaa fi barsiisaa taʼee muudameera.
Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and Apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
12 Anis akka amma jiru kanatti dhiphachuun koo kanumaaf. Ani garuu eenyun akka amane waan beekuuf hin qaanaʼu; akka inni waan ani imaanaa itti kennadhe hamma guyyaa sanaatti eeguu dandaʼus nan amana.
For the which cause I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed: for I knowe whom I haue beleeued, and I am persuaded that he is able to keepe that which I haue committed to him against that day.
13 Waan narraa dhageesse sana akka fakkeenya barsiisa dhugaatti amantii fi jaalala Kiristoos Yesuusiin qabdu jabeessii qabadhu.
Keepe the true paterne of the wholesome wordes, which thou hast heard of me in faith and loue which is in Christ Iesus.
14 Waan gaarii imaanaa sitti kenname sana gargaarsa Hafuura Qulqulluu nu keessa jiraatu sanaatiin eegi.
That worthie thing, which was committed to thee, keepe through the holy Ghost, which dwelleth in vs.
15 Namoonni biyya Asiyaa keessa jiraatan hundinuu akka narraa gara galan ni beekta; Fiigeloosii fi Hermoogenees isaan keessa jiru.
This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia, be turned from me: of which sort are Phygellus and Hermogenes.
16 Oneesifooros yeroo baayʼee waan na boqochiiseef Gooftaan warra mana isaa jiraataniif araara haa buusu; inni hidhamuu kootti illee hin qaanofneetii.
The Lord giue mercie vnto the house of Onesiphorus: for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chaine,
17 Akkasumas inni yeroo Roomaa dhufetti hamma na argutti dhimmee na barbaadaa ture.
But when he was at Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me.
18 Akka inni guyyaa sanatti Gooftaa irraa araara argatuuf fedhii Gooftaa haa taʼu! Inni Efesoon keessatti karaa baayʼeen akka na tajaajile ati iyyuu sirriitti beekta.
The Lord graunt vnto him, that he may finde mercie with the Lord at that day, and in how many things he hath ministred vnto me at Ephesus, thou knowest very well.
