2 Saamuʼeel 6
1 Daawit ammas namoota Israaʼel keessaa filataman kuma soddoma walitti qabate.
And David, once more, gathered together all the choice young men in Israel, thirty thousand.
2 Innii fi namoonni isa wajjin turan hundi taabota Waaqaa kan Maqaa, maqaa Waaqayyoo Waan Hunda Dandaʼuu kan taabota gubbaa, kiirubeelii teessoo irra jiran gidduu jiru sanaatiin waamamu sana achii fiduuf gara Baʼaalaa ishee Yihuudaa keessaa sanaa ni dhaqan.
Then David, and all the people that were with him, arose and went beyond Baale Judah, —to bring up from thence, the ark of God, the name whereof is called by the name of Yahweh of hosts, who inhabiteth the cherubim thereupon.
3 Isaanis taabota Waaqaa gaarii haaraa irra kaaʼanii mana Abiinaadaab kan gaara irra jiru sanaa baasanii fidan. Ilmaan Abiinaadaabii, Uzaa fi Ahiiyoon gaarii haaraa sana oofaa turan;
So they carried the ark of God in a new waggon, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, who was in Gibeah, —and, Uzza and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were driving the new waggon.
4 taabonni Waaqaas gaarii irra kaaʼamee Ahiiyoon dura dura deema ture.
So they brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was in Gibeah, with the ark of God, —and, Ahio, was going before the ark.
5 Daawitii fi Israaʼel hundinuu humna isaanii guutuudhaan faarfannaadhaan, masiinqoodhaan, baganaadhaan, dibbeedhaan, bilbilaan, Kililleedhaanis fuula Waaqayyoo duratti gammadanii shuubbisaa turan.
And, David and all the house of Israel, were dancing for joy before Yahweh, with all boldness and with songs, —and with lyres, and with harps, and with timbrels, and with sistrums, and with cymbals.
6 Yommuu isaan oobdii Naakoon bira gaʼanitti waan sangoonni gufataniif Uzaan harka isaa hiixatee taabota Waaqaa qabe.
And, when they came as far as the threshing-floor of Nachon, Uzzah thrust forth his hand unto the ark of God, and took hold of it, for the oxen were restive.
7 Sababii hojii isaa kan ulfina hin qabneetiif dheekkamsi Waaqayyoo Uzaatti bobaʼe; kanaafuu Waaqni isa rukute; innis achumatti taabota Waaqaa biratti duʼe.
Then was kindled the anger of Yahweh, against Uzzah, and God smote him there, for the error, —so that he died there, by the ark of God.
8 Daawitis sababii Waaqayyo akka malee Uzaatti dheekkameef ni aare; iddoon sun hamma harʼaatti Phereez Uzaa jedhamee waamama.
And it was a sadness unto David, for that Yahweh had broken in with a breach against Uzzah, —therefore called he that place, Perez-uzzah [as it is called] until this day.
9 Daawitis gaafa sana Waaqayyoon sodaatee, “Taabonni Waaqayyoo akkamitti gara koo dhufa?” jedhe.
And David was afraid of Yahweh, on that day, —and said, How can the ark of Yahweh come unto me?
10 Innis akka taabonni Waaqayyoo isa wajjin Magaalaa Daawit keessa jiraatuuf ofitti fudhachuu hin barbaanne. Qooda kanaa gara mana Oobeed Edoom namicha Gitii sanaatti geesse.
So David would not remove unto him the ark of Yahweh, unto the city of David, —but David took it aside to the house of Obed-edom, the Gittite.
11 Taabonni Waaqayyoos jiʼa sadii mana namicha Gitii kan Oobeed Edoom jedhamu sanaa ture; Waaqayyos isaa fi warra mana isaa jiraatan hunda ni eebbise.
And the ark of Yahweh abode in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite, three months, —and Yahweh blessed Obed -edom, and all his household.
12 Yeroo kanatti, “Waaqayyo sababii taabota Waaqaatiif jedhee warra mana Oobeed Edoom jiraatanii fi waan inni qabu hunda ni eebbise” jedhanii Daawit Mootichatti himan. Kanaafuu Daawit gad buʼee taabota Waaqaa sana mana Abiidaaraatii gammachuudhaan gara Magaalaa Daawititti fide.
And it was told King David, saying, Yahweh hath blessed the household of Obed-edom, and all that he hath, because of the ark of God. David therefore went and brought up the ark of God, out of the house of Obed-edom, unto the city of David, with rejoicing.
13 Innis akkuma namoonni taabota Waaqayyoo baatan sun tarkaanfii jaʼa achi hiiqaniin sangaa tokkoo fi jabbii coomaa tokko aarsaa dhiʼeesse.
And so it was that, when they who bare the ark of Yahweh had stepped forward six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a heifer.
14 Daawitis Dirata quncee talbaa irraa hojjetame uffatee qondaaltota isaa wajjin fuula Waaqayyoo duratti humna isaa guutuun shuubbisa ture;
And, David, was dancing with all boldness before Yahweh, —David, being girt with an ephod of linen.
15 innii fi Israaʼel hundi “hoo” jechaa sagalee malakataatiin taabota Waaqayyoo fidan.
So, David and all the house of Israel, were bringing up the ark of Yahweh, —with triumphant shoutings, and with the sound of a horn.
16 Yeroo taabonni Waaqayyoo Magaalaa Daawit seenutti Miikaal intalli Saaʼol foddaa keessaan ilaalaa turte. Isheenis akka Daawit Mootichi fuula Waaqayyoo duratti utaalee shuubbisu yommuu argitetti garaa ishee keessatti isa tuffatte.
Now it so came about that, when the ark of Yahweh entered the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter, looked out through the window, and saw King David, leaping and dancing before Yahweh, and she despised him, in her heart.
17 Isaanis taabota Waaqayyoo fidanii dunkaana Daawit dhaabeef keessa ni kaaʼan; Daawitis aarsaa gubamuu fi aarsaa nagaa fuula Waaqayyoo duratti dhiʼeesse.
So they brought in the ark of Yahweh, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent which David had stretched out for it, —and David caused to go up ascending-sacrifices before Yahweh, and peace-offerings.
18 Innis erga aarsaa gubamuu fi aarsaa nagaa dhiʼeessee booddee maqaa Waaqayyoo Waan Hunda Dandaʼuutiin namoota ni eebbise.
And, when David had finished offering up the ascending-sacrifice and the peace-offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Yahweh of hosts.
19 Ergasiis inni tokkoo tokkoo nama tuuta Israaʼelootaa guutuu keessa jiruutiif jechuunis dhiirotaafis dubartootaafis buddeena tokko tokko, gumaa foonii tokko tokkoo fi bixxillee ija wayinii tokko tokko ni kenne. Namoonni hundinuus gara mana mana isaanii deeman.
And he apportioned to all the people, to all the multitude of Israel, both to men and to women—to every one, a loaf of bread, and a sweet drink, and a raisin-cake, —and all the people went their way, every one unto his own house;
20 Yommuu Daawit maatii ofii isaa eebbisuuf deebiʼettis Miikaal intalli Saaʼol isa simachuuf baatee, “Harʼa mootiin Israaʼel akka nama gatii hin qabne tokkootti fuula xomboreewwan hojjettoota isaa duratti qullaa argamuun isaa ulfina taʼeeti moo!” jette.
and David returned, to bless his household. Then came forth Michal Saul’s daughter to meet David, and said—How honoured, to-day, was the king of Israel in disrobing himself to-day, in the sight of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the low people, might disrobe himself?
21 Daawit immoo Miikaaliin akkana jedhe; “Ani fuula Waaqayyo isa abbaa keetii fi warra mana isaa jiran caalchisee na filatee saba Waaqayyoo, Israaʼel irratti na muude sanaaf fuula Waaqayyoo duratti nan shuubbisa.
And David said unto Michal, Before Yahweh, I will dance, —blessed, be Yahweh, who made choice of me above thy father, and above all his house, putting me in charge as leader over the people of Yahweh, over Israel, —therefore will I dance before Yahweh;
22 Ani kana caalaa iyyuu ofin xinneessa; ija kee durattis of nan salphisa. Xomboreewwan ati jette kanneeniin garuu nan kabajama.”
and will make myself, yet more, lightly esteemed that this, and become lowly in mine own eyes, —nevertheless, with the handmaids of whom thou hast spoken, with them, shall I be honoured.
23 Miikaal intalli Saaʼol utuu ijoollee hin argatin duute.
Therefore, Michal Saul’s daughter, had no child, —unto the day of her death.
