< 2 Saamuʼeel 22 >
1 Daawit yommuu Waaqayyo harka diinota isaa hundaa fi harka Saaʼol jalaa isa baasetti dubbii Faarfannaa kana Waaqayyoof faarfate.
And David spake unto Yahweh, the words of this song, in the day when Yahweh had rescued him, out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul;
2 Innis akkana jedhe: “Waaqayyo kattaa koo ti; daʼannoo kootii fi oolchaa koo ti;
and he said, —Yahweh, was my mountain crag and my stronghold, and my deliverer—mine;
3 Waaqni koo kattaa koo kan ani kooluu itti galuu dha; inni gaachana kootii fi gaanfa fayyina koo ti. Inni daʼannoo koo cimaa, kooluu kootii fi fayyisaa koo ti; ati namoota humnaan namatti kaʼan jalaas na baasta.
My God, was my rock, I sought refuge in him, —My shield, and my horn of salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, My Saviour! from violence, thou didst save me.
4 “Ani Waaqayyo galanni isaaf malu sana nan waammadha; diinota koo jalaas nan baraarama.
As one worthy to be praised, called I on Yahweh, —And, from my foes, was I saved.
5 Dambaliin duʼaa na marseera; lolaan badiisaas na liqimseera.
When the breakers of death had encompassed me, —the torrents of perdition, made me afraid, —
6 Funyoon siiʼool natti marame; kiyyoon duʼaas natti dhufe. (Sheol )
the meshes of hades, had surrounded me, —the snares of death had confronted me, (Sheol )
7 “Ani dhiphina koo keessatti Waaqayyoon nan waammadhe; Waaqa kootti nan iyyadhe. Innis mana qulqullummaa isaatii sagalee koo dhagaʼe; iyyi koos gurra isaa seene.
In my distress, called I on Yahweh, Yea, unto my God, did I call, —and he hearkened, out of his temple, unto my voice, and, my cry for help, was in his ears!
8 Lafti ni hollatte; ni sochootes; hundeewwan samiiwwanii ni raafaman; sababii inni dheekkameefis isaan ni hollatan.
Then did the earth shake and quake, the foundations of the heavens, were deeply moved, —yea they did shake, because he was angry,
9 Aarri funyaan isaatii ol baʼe; ibiddi waa barbadeessu afaan isaatii baʼe; cileen bobaʼus afaan isaatii baʼe.
There went up a smoke in his nostrils, and, a fire out of his mouth, devoured, —live coals, were kindled from it:
10 Inni samiiwwan tarsaasee gad buʼe; duumessoonni gurraachis miilla isaa jala turan.
Then he stretched out the heavens, and came down, —and, thick gloom, was under his feet;
11 Inni kiirubeelin yaabbatee barrise; qoochoo qilleensaatiinis ol baʼe.
Then he rode on a cherub, and flew, —and was seen on the wings of the wind;
12 Inni dukkana, duumessa samii kan bokkaadhaan dukkanaaʼe immoo godoo isaa godhate.
And made of the darkness around him, pavilions, —gathering of waters, clouds of vapours.
13 Ifa fuula isaa keessaas bakakkaan balaqqisee baʼe.
Out of the brightness before him, were kindled live coals of fire;
14 Waaqayyo samiidhaa ni qaqawweessaʼe; sagaleen Waaqa Waan Hundaa Oliis ni dhagaʼame.
Thunder from the heavens, did Yahweh give forth, —yea, the Highest, uttered his voice;
15 Inni xiyya isaa darbatee diinota bittinneesse; bakakkaas gad dhiisee isaan fixe.
And he sent forth arrows, and scattered them, —lightning, and confused them;
16 Dheekkamsa, Waaqayyootiin humna hafuura funyaan isaatii baʼuutiinis sululawwan galaanaa ifatti baafaman; hundeewwan lafaas qullaa hafan.
Then appeared the channels of the sea, were uncovered the foundations of the world, —at the rebuke of Yahweh, the blast of the breath of his nostrils;
17 “Inni ol gubbaadhaa gad hiixatee na qabe; bishaanota gad fagoo keessaas na baase.
He sent from on high, he took me, —he drew me out of many waters;
18 Inni diina koo isa jabaa jalaa, amajaajota koo warra akka malee natti ciman jalaas na baase.
He rescued me from my foe, in his might, —from them who hated me, because they were too strong for me:
19 Isaan guyyaa rakkina kootti natti dhufan; Waaqayyo garuu gargaarsa koo ture.
They confronted me, in the day of my necessity, —then became Yahweh my stay:
20 Inni iddoo balʼaatti na baase; waan natti gammadeefis na oolche.
And brought out, into a large place, even me, —he delivered me, because he delighted in me:
21 “Waaqayyo akkuma qajeelummaa kootiitti naa kenneera; akkuma qulqullina harka koottis na badhaase.
Yahweh rewarded me, according to my righteousness—according to the cleanness of my hands, he repaid me:
22 Ani karaa Waaqayyoo eegeeraatii; Waaqa koo irraa garagalee hammina hin hojjenne.
For I had kept the ways of Yahweh, —and not broken away from my God;
23 Seerri isaa hundinuu fuula koo dura jira; anis ajaja isaa irraa hin jalʼanne.
For, all his regulations, were before me, —and, as for his statutes, I turned not from them.
24 Ani fuula isaa duratti mudaa hin qabu ture; cubbuu irraas of eeggadheera.
So became I blameless towards him, —and kept myself from mine iniquity:
25 Waaqayyo akkuma qajeelumma kootti, akkuma ani fuula isaa duratti qulqulluu taʼettis na badhaaseera.
Yahweh therefore repaid me, according to my righteousness, —according to my pureness before his eyes.
26 “Ati nama amanamaatti amanamummaa kee argisiifta; nama mudaa hin qabnettis kan mudaa hin qabne taata;
With the loving, thou didst show thyself loving, —with the blameless hero, thou didst show thyself blameless;
27 nama qulqulluutti qulqulluu taata; nama jalʼaatti immoo jalʼaa taata.
With the pure, thou didst show thyself pure, —but, with the perverse, thou didst shew thyself ready to contend:
28 Ati warra gad of qaban ni oolchita; warra of tuulan immoo gad deebisuuf iji kee isaan ilaala.
And, a patient people, thou didst save, —but, thine eyes, were on the lofty—thou layedst them low;
29 Yaa Waaqayyo, ati ibsaa koo ti; Waaqayyo dukkana koo ifatti ni geeddara.
For, thou, wast my lamp, O Yahweh, —and, Yahweh, enlightened my darkness;
30 Ani gargaarsa keetiin loltoota dhiibbadhee nan deema; Waaqa kootiinis dallaa utaaluu nan dandaʼa.
For, by thee, I ran through a troop, —by my God, I leapt over a wall.
31 “Waaqa kana, karaan isaa mudaa hin qabu; dubbiin Waaqayyoo hirʼina hin qabu. Warra isatti kooluu galan hundaaf inni gaachana taʼa.
As for God, blameless is his way, —the speech of Yahweh, hath been proved, a shield, he is to all who seek refuge in him.
32 Waaqayyo malee Waaqni eenyu? Waaqa keenya malees Kattaan eenyu?
For who is a GOD, save Yahweh? and who a Rock, save our God?
33 Kan humna na hidhachiisu, kan akka karaan koos nagaa taʼu godhu Waaqa.
GOD, is my fortress of strength, —and shewed to the blameless his way;
34 Inni miilla koo akka miilla borofaa godha; iddoo ol dheeraa irras na dhaabachiisa.
Planting my feet like the hinds’, —yea, on my high places, he caused me to stand;
35 Inni harka koo waraanaaf leenjisa; irreen koos iddaa naasii dabsuu ni dandaʼa.
Teaching my hands, to war, —so that a bow of bronze was bent by mine arms;
36 Ati gargaarsa kee kan nama fayyisu gaachana naaf goota; gargaarsi kees nama guddaa na godhe.
Thus didst thou grant me, as a shield, thy salvation, —and, thy condescension, made me great.
37 Akka koomeen koo hin mucucaanneef, miilla kootiif daandii balʼifteerta.
Thou didst widen my stepping-places, under me, —so that mine ankles faltered not:
38 “Ani diinota koo ariʼee nan balleesse; hamma isaan barbadaaʼanittis ani duubatti hin deebine.
I pursued my foes, and destroyed them, —and returned not, till they were consumed;
39 Ani guutumaan guutuutti isaan nan barbadeesse; isaan deebiʼanii kaʼuu hin dandaʼan; isaanis miilla koo jalatti ni kufan.
So I consumed them, and crushed them, and they rose not again, —thus fell they under my feet:
40 Ati lolaaf humna na hidhachiifte; amajaajota koos fuula koo duratti gad deebifte.
Thus didst thou gird me with strength, for the battle, —thou subduedst mine assailants under me:
41 Akka diinonni koo dugda duubatti deebiʼanii baqatan gooteerta; anis amajaajota koo barbadeesseera.
And, as for my foes, thou didst give me their neck, —yea, them who hated me, that I might destroy them:
42 Isaan gargaarsaaf iyyan; garuu kan isaan oolchu tokko iyyuu hin turre; gara Waaqayyoottis ni iyyatan; inni garuu deebii hin kennineef.
They cried out, but there was none to save, —unto Yahweh, but he answered them not.
43 Anis akkuma awwaara lafaatti isaan nan daake; bulleessees akkuma dhoqqee daandii irraatti isaan dhidhiite.
Then did I beat them in pieces, like the dust of the earth, —like the clay of the lanes, did I crush them, stamp them down.
44 “Ati lola namootaa jalaa na baafteerta; mataa sabootaa gootee na jiraachifteerta. Sabni ani hin beekne na tajaajila;
Thus didst thou rescue me from the contentions of my people, didst keep me to be the head of nations: —a people whom I had not known, served me;
45 namoonni ormaa na sossobatan; isaan akkuma waaʼee koo dhagaʼaniin naaf ajajaman.
The sons of the foreigner, came cringing unto me, —at the hearing of the ear, they submitted to me, —
46 Isaan hundi abdii kutatan; hollachaas daʼannoo isaanii jabaa keessaa baʼan.
The sons of the foreigner, were disheartened, and came quaking, out of their fortresses.
47 “Waaqayyo jiraataa dha! Kattaan koo haa eebbifamu! Waaqni koo, Kattaan, Fayyisaan koo ol ol haa jedhu!
Yahweh liveth, and blessed be my rock, —and exalted be the God (of the rock) of my salvation: —
48 Inni Waaqa haaloo naa baasu, kan sabootas na jala galchu,
The GOD who hath avenged me, and brought down peoples under me;
49 kan diinota koo jalaas bilisa na baasuu dha. Ati amajaajota kootii ol na goota; gooltota jalaas na baafte.
And brought me forth from among my foes, —yea, from mine assailants, hast thou set me on high, from the man of violence, hast thou delivered me.
50 Kanaafuu yaa Waaqayyo, ani saboota gidduutti sin leellisa; faarfannaa galataa illee maqaa keetiif nan faarfadha.
For this cause, will I praise thee, O Yahweh, among the nations, —and, to thy name, will I touch the strings: —
51 “Inni moʼannaawwan gurguddaa mootii isaatiif ni kenna; dibamaa isaa Daawitii fi sanyii isaatiif, araara bara baraa ni argisiisa.”
Who hath made great the victories of his King, —and shown lovingkindness to his Anointed One, to David and to his Seed, unto times age-abiding.
