2 Yohannis 1
1 Jaarsicha irraa, Gara giiftii filatamtuu fi ijoollee ishee, warra ani dhugaadhaan jaalladhu, warra ana qofa utuu hin taʼin warri dhugaa beekan hundi akkasuma jaallataniitti;
The Elder, unto an elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth; and not, I, alone, but all those also who understand the truth, —
2 kunis sababii dhugaa nu keessa jiraatuu fi isa bara baraan nu wajjin jiraatu sanaatiif: (aiōn g165)
For the sake of the truth that abideth in us, and, with us, shall be unto times age-abiding, (aiōn g165)
3 Ayyaanni, araarrii fi nagaan Waaqa Abbaa biraa, Yesuus Kiristoos Ilma Abbaa biraas, dhugaa fi jaalalaan nu wajjin ni taʼa.
Favour, mercy, peace shall be with us, from God the Father, and from Jesus Christ the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
4 Ani waan ijoollee kee keessaa tokko tokko akka isaan akkuma Abbaan nu ajajetti dhugaan jiraatan argeef baayʼee gammadeera.
I rejoiced exceedingly, in that I had found, from among thy children, such as were walking in truth, even as, a commandment, we received from the Father.
5 Ammas yaa giiftii jaallatamtuu, ani ajaja durumaa jalqabee nuuf kenname sana malee ajaja haaraa siif barreessuutti hin jiru. Akka wal jaallannuufis sin kadhadha.
And, now, I request thee, lady, not as writing, a new commandment, unto thee, but one which we were holding from the beginning—That we should be loving one another.
6 Jaalallis kana: kunis ajaja isaa eegnee jiraachuu dha. Akkuma isin durumaa jalqabdanii dhageessan sana ajajni isaa akka isin jaalalaan jiraattanii dha.
And, this, is love, that we should be walking according to his commandments: This, is, the commandment, even as ye heard from the beginning, that, therein, ye should be walking.
7 Gowwoomsitoonni akka Yesuus Kiristoos fooniin dhufe hin amanne hedduun addunyaa seenaniiru. Namni akkanaa kam iyyuu gowwoomsituu fi farra Kiristoos.
Because, many deceivers, have gone out into the world, they who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in flesh: This, is the deceiver and the antichrist.
8 Isin akka gatii guutuu argattan malee akka waan hojjettan sana hin dhabneef of eeggadhaa.
Be taking heed unto yourselves, lest ye lose what things we earned, —but, a full reward, ye may duly receive.
9 Namni barsiisa Kiristoosiin hin jiraanne kan barsiisa sana keessaa baʼu kam iyyuu Waaqa hin qabu; namni barsiisa Kiristoosiin jiraatu hundinuu immoo Abbaas Ilmas qaba.
Every one that taketh a lead, and abideth not in the teaching of Christ, hath not, God: he that abideth in the teaching, the same, hath, both the Father and the Son.
10 Isin yoo namni kam iyyuu gara keessan dhufee garuu barsiisa kana hin fidin, mana keessanitti ol isa hin galchinaa yookaan isa hin simatinaa.
If anyone cometh unto you and, this teaching, doth not bring, be not receiving him home, and, Joy to thee! do not say;
11 Namni isa simatu kam iyyuu hojii isaa hamaa sana keessatti qooda qabaataatii.
For, he that biddeth him rejoice, hath fellowship with his wicked works.
12 Ani waanan isiniif barreessu baayʼee qaba; taʼus waraqaa fi qalamiitti fayyadamuu hin barbaadu. Qooda kanaa akka gammachuun keenya guutuu taʼuuf ani gara keessan dhufee ifaan ifatti haasofnu abdiin qaba.
Though I had many things, unto you, to write, I was not minded [to say them] with paper and ink; but I hope to come unto you, and, mouth to mouth, to talk, —that your joy may be made full.
13 Ijoolleen obboleettii kee kan filatamte sanaas nagaa siif dhaamu.
The children of thy chosen sister salute thee.
