2 Qorontos 5

1 Yoo dunkaanni lafa irraa kan nu keessa jiraannu kun diigame mana Waaqni ijaare, mana bara baraa kan harka namaatiin hin ijaaramin samii irraa akka qabnu beekna. (aiōnios g166)

For we know that if our earthly house of [this] tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. (aiōnios g166)

2 Hammasitti mana keenya kan samii irraa sana uffachuu hawwuudhaan ni aadna;

For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our house which is from heaven:

3 nu yommuu isa ufannutti qullaa hin argamnuutii.

If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.

4 Nu utuma dunkaana kana keessa jirruu ni aadna; baʼaanis nutti ulfaateera; nu garuu wanni duʼa hin oolle jireenyaan akka liqimfamuuf mana keenya kan samii irraa uffachuu malee akka uffanni nurraa baafamu hin barbaannuutii.

For we that are in [this] tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not because we would be unclothed, but clothed, that mortality might be swallowed up in life.

5 Kan kaayyoo kanaaf nu qopheesses Waaqa isa Hafuura Qulqulluu wabii waan dhufuuf jiruu godhee akka qabdiitti nuu kenne sanaa dha.

Now he that hath wrought us for this same thing [is] God, who also hath given to us the earnest of the Spirit.

6 Kanaaf nu yeroo hunda ija jabina qabna; hamma dhagna fooniitiin jirrutti Gooftaa irraa fagoo akka jirru beekna.

Therefore [we are] always confident, knowing that, while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

7 Nu amantiidhaan jiraanna malee arguun miti.

(For we walk by faith, not by sight: )

8 Nu ija jabina qabna; dhagna foonii kana irraa addaan baanee Gooftaa wajjin jiraachuu filanna.

We are confident, [I say], and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

9 Kanaaf nu dhagna fooniitiin jiraannus, dhagna foonii irraa fagaannus kaayyoon keenya Isa gammachiisuu dha.

Wherefore we labor, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted by him.

10 Tokkoon tokkoon namaa yeroo dhagna fooniitiin jiraachaa turetti akka hojii tolaa yookaan hamaa hojjeteef gatii isaa argatuuf hundi keenya barcuma murtii Kiristoos duratti dhiʼaachuu qabnaatii.

For we must all appear before the judgment-seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things [done] in [his] body, according to what he hath done, whether good or bad.

11 Nu Gooftaa sodaachuun maal akka taʼe waan beeknuuf namoota amansiisuuf yaalii goona. Eenyummaan keenya Waaqa biratti beekamaa dha; yaada garaa keessaniitiifis beekamaa akka taʼe nan abdadha.

Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest to God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

12 Nu akka isin nuun boontaniif carraa isinii kennuuf malee amma illee isin biratti of galateeffachuuf miti; kunis isin warra waan garaa keessa jiru caalaa waan ijatti mulʼatuun boonaniif deebii kennuu akka dandeessaniif.

For we commend not ourselves again to you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to [answer] them who glory in appearance, and not in heart.

13 Nu yoo akka namoonni tokko tokko jedhan sana “qalbii dabarsine,” Waaqaaf jennee ti; yoo qalbii qabeeyyii taane immoo isiniif jennee ti.

For whether we are beside ourselves, [it is] to God: or whether we are sober, [it is] for your cause.

14 Jaalalli Kiristoos nu dirqisiisaatii; sababiin isaas waan namni tokko nama hundaaf duʼeef namni hundi kan duʼe taʼuu isaa amansiifamneerra.

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

15 Innis akka warri lubbuun jiran siʼachi isa isaaniif jedhee duʼee duʼaa kaafame sanaaf malee akka ofii isaaniitiif hin jiraanneef nama hundumaaf duʼe.

And [that] he died for all, that they who live should not henceforth live to themselves, but to him who died for them, and rose again.

16 Kanaafuu nu ammaa jalqabnee nama tokko iyyuu akka ilaalcha fooniitti hin ilaallu. Yoo kanaan dura akka ilaalcha addunyaatti Kiristoosin ilaalaa turre iyyuu, siʼachi akkas hin goonu.

Wherefore henceforth we know no man according to the flesh: though indeed we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now henceforth we know [him] no more.

17 Kanaafuu eenyu iyyuu yoo Kiristoositti jiraate inni uumama haaraa dha; wanni moofaan darbeera; kunoo wanni haaraan dhufeera.

Therefore, if any man [is] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

18 Kun hundinuus Waaqa Kiristoosiin ofitti nu araarsee fi tajaajila araaraa nuu kenne sana irraa dhufe;

And all things [are] from God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

19 kunis, Waaqni cubbuu namootaa isaanitti lakkaaʼuu dhiisuudhaan Kiristoosiin addunyaa ofitti araarsaa ture jechuu dha. Innis ergaa araaraa sana imaanaa nutti kenneera.

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, not imputing their trespasses to them; and hath committed to us the word of reconciliation.

20 Kanaafuu nu bakka buʼoota Kiristoos; Waaqnis karaa keenyaan isin sossobata; nus akka isin Waaqatti araaramtaniif qooda Kiristoos taanee isin kadhanna.

Now then we are embassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech [you] by us: we pray [you] in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

21 Akka nu isumaan qajeelummaa Waaqaa taanuuf Waaqni nuuf jedhee Kiristoos isa cubbuu hin qabne sana cubbuu godhe.

For he hath made him [to be] sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
