1 Ergasiis sabni biyya sanaa Yehooʼaahaaz ilma Yosiyaas fuudhanii Yerusaalem keessatti iddoo abbaa isaa buusanii mootii isa godhan.
And the people of the land took Jehoahaz, son of Josiah, —and made him king instead of his father, in Jerusalem.
2 Yehooʼaahaaz yeroo mootii taʼetti umuriin isaa waggaa digdamii sadii ture; innis Yerusaalem keessa taaʼee jiʼa sadii bulche.
Twenty-three years old, was Joahaz when he began to reign, —and, three months, reigned he in Jerusalem.
3 Mootiin Gibxi immoo Yerusaalem keessatti teessoo isaa irraa isa buuse; Yihuudaa irrattis gibira meetii taalaantii dhibba tokkoo fi warqee taalaantii tokko mure.
And the king of Egypt deposed him in Jerusalem, —and condemned the land, in a hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold.
4 Mootiin Gibxis Eliiyaaqiim obboleessa Yehooʼaahaaz Yihuudaa fi Yerusaalem irratti mootii godhe; innis maqaa Eliiyaaqiim geeddaree Yehooyaaqiim jedheen. Nekkoonis Yoʼahaz obboleessa Eliiyaaqiim fuudhee Gibxitti geesse.
And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and changed his name to Jehoiakim, —but Neco took, Joahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.
5 Yehooyaaqiim yeroo mootii taʼetti umuriin isaa waggaa digdamii shan ture; innis Yerusaalem keessa taaʼee waggaa kudha tokko bulche. Inni fuula Waaqayyo Waaqa isaa duratti waan hamaa hojjete.
Twenty-five years old, was Jehoiakim when he began to reign, and, eleven years, reigned he in Jerusalem, —and he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh his God.
6 Nebukadnezar mootichi Baabilon isatti duule; gara Baabilonittis isa geessuudhaaf foncaa naasiitiin isa hidhe.
Against him, came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, —and bound him in fetters of bronze, to carry him to Babylon.
7 Nebukadnezar miʼoota mana qulqullummaa Waaqayyoo guuree Baabilonitti geessee mana waaqeffannaa isaa keessa ni kaaʼe.
And, some of the utensils of the house of Yahweh, did Nebuchadnezzar carry to Babylon, —and put them in his own temple in Babylon.
8 Wantoonni bara mootummaa Yehooyaaqiim keessa hojjetaman kanneen biraa, wanni jibbisiisaan inni hojjetee fi balleessaan isa irratti argame hundi kitaaba seenaa mootota Israaʼelii fi Yihuudaa keessatti barreeffamaniiru. Ilmi isaa Yehooyaakiin iddoo isaa buʼee mootii taʼe.
But, the rest of the story of Jehoiakim, and his abominations which he made, and that which was found upon him, there they are, written in the book of the Kings of Israel and Judah, —and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.
9 Yehooyaakiin yeroo mootii taʼetti umuriin isaa waggaa kudha saddeet ture; innis Yerusaalem keessa taaʼee jiʼa sadii fi bultii kudhan bulche. Fuula Waaqayyoo durattis waan hamaa hojjete.
Eight years old, was Jehoiachin when he began to reign, and, three months and ten days, reigned he in Jerusalem, and he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh;
10 Birraa keessas Nebukadnezar Mootichi nama itti ergee miʼoota mana qulqullummaa Waaqayyoo kanneen gatii guddaa qaban wajjin gara Baabilon isa fichisiise; Zedeqiyaa obboleessa abbaa Yehooyaakiin sana immoo Yihuudaa fi Yerusaalem irratti mootii godhe.
and, when the year came round, King Nebuchadnezzar sent, and carried him to Babylon, with the precious utensils of the house of Yahweh, —and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.
11 Zedeqiyaa yeroo mootii taʼetti nama waggaa digdamii tokkoo ture; innis Yerusaalem keessa taaʼee waggaa kudha tokko bulche.
Twenty-one years old, was Zedekiah when he began to reign, —and, eleven years, reigned he in Jerusalem.
12 Inni fuula Waaqayyo Waaqa isaa duratti waan hamaa ni hojjete; fuula Ermiyaas raajicha dubbii Waaqayyoo isatti dubbate sanaa durattis gad of hin qabne.
And he did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh his God, -he humbled not himself before Jeremiah the prophet, from the mouth of Yahweh.
13 Akkasumas Nebukadnezar Mooticha maqaa Waaqaatiin isa kakachiisee turetti illee ni fincile. Inni mataa jabaatee gara Waaqayyo Waaqa Israaʼelitti deebiʼuu ni dide.
Moreover also—against King Nebuchadnezzar, he rebelled, who had made him swear by God, -and he stiffened his neck, and emboldened his heart, from turning unto Yahweh, God of Israel.
14 Kana malees dura buutonni lubootaa hundii fi uummanni wantoota jibbisiisoo saboota kaanii hunda duukaa buʼuu fi mana qulqullummaa Waaqayyoo kan inni Yerusaalem keessatti qulqulleesse sana xureessuudhaan ittuma caalchisanii amanamummaa dhaban.
Also, all the rulers of the priests and of the people, abounded in committing treachery, according to all the abominable ways of the nations, —and polluted the house of Yahweh, which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.
15 Waaqayyo Waaqni abbootii isaanii waan saba isaa fi iddoo jireenya isaaf garaa laafeef karaa ergamoota isaatiin ammumaa amma ergaa itti erge.
And, though Yahweh God of their fathers sent unto them through his messengers, zealously sending them, —because he had compassion upon his people and upon his habitation,
16 Isaan garuu ergamoota Waaqaatti qoosan; dubbii isaas tuffatanii raajota isaa xinneessan. Kanaanis dheekkamsi Waaqayyoo saba isaatti ni buʼe; wanni isa qabbaneessus hin argamne.
yet became they mockers of the messengers of God, and despisers of his words, and mimics of his prophets, —until the mounting up of the wrath of Yahweh against his people, until there was no healing.
17 Kanaafuu inni mootii warra Baabilon isaanitti fide; mootichis mana qulqullummaa keessatti dargaggoota isaanii goraadeedhaan fixe; dargaggoota yookaan dubara, jaarsolii yookaan warra dullooman tokko illee hin hambifne. Waaqni hunda isaanii dabarsee harka Nebukadnezaritti kenne.
So he brought up against them the king of the Chaldeans, who slew their young men with the sword, in the house of their sanctuary, and had no compassion upon young man or virgin, elder or ancient, -all, delivered he into his hand.
18 Innis mana qulqullummaa Waaqaatii miʼoota hunda xinnaa fi guddaa, qabeenya mana qulqullummaa Waaqayyoo, qabeenya mootichaa fi kan qondaaltota isaa saamee Baabilonitti geesse.
And, all the utensils of the house of God, both great and small, and the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the king and of his rulers, the whole, carried he to Babylon;
19 Isaan mana qulqullummaa Waaqaatti ibidda qabsiisanii dallaa Yerusaalem diigan; masaraawwan mootummaa hunda gubanii waan gatii qabu hundas barbadeessan.
and they burned the house of God, and threw down the wall of Jerusalem, —and, all the palaces thereof, burned they with fire, and, all the precious vessels thereof, he destroyed;
20 Inni hambaa goraadee irraa hafe boojiʼee Baabilonitti geesse; isaanis hamma mootummaan Faares aangoo qabatetti tajaajiltoota isaa fi tajaajiltoota ilmaan isaa taʼan.
and he exiled the remnant left from the sword, into Babylon, —where they became his and his sons, as servants, until the reign of the kingdom of Persia:
21 Biyyattiin boqonnaa sanbata ishee ni argatte; akka dubbiin Waaqayyoo kan afaan Ermiyaasiin dubbatame raawwatamuuf hamma waggaan torbaatamni dhumutti biyyattiin yeroo ontee turte guutuu ni boqotte.
to fulfil the word of God, by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had paid off her sabbaths, —all the days of her lying desolate, she kept sabbath, to fulfil seventy years.
22 Waaqayyo akka dubbiin Waaqayyoo kan afaan Ermiyaasiin dubbatame sun raawwatamuuf jedhee bara Qiiros mooticha Faares keessa waggaa jalqabaatti akka inni mootummaa isaa hunda keessa labsii tokko dabarsuu fi akka labsiin sunis barreeffamuuf hafuura Qiiros mooticha Faares ni kakaase; labsiin sunis akkana jedha:
But, in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, to accomplish the word of God by the mouth of Jeremiah, Yahweh aroused the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made proclamation throughout all his kingdom, moreover also in writing, saying:
23 “Qiiros mootichi Faares akkana jedha: “‘Waaqayyo Waaqni samii mootummoota lafa irraa hunda naaf kenneera; akka ani Yihuudaa keessatti Yerusaalemitti mana qulqullummaa isaaf ijaaruufis na muudeera. Saba isaa keessaa nama gidduu keessanitti argamu kam iyyuu Waaqayyo Waaqni isaa isa wajjin haa taʼu; innis ol haa baʼu.’”
Thus, saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth, hath Yahweh God of the heavens, given unto me, and, he himself, hath laid charge upon me, to build to him a house, in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people with whom is Yahweh his God? Then let him go up.
