2 Seenaa 34
1 Yosiyaas yeroo mootii taʼetti nama waggaa saddeetii ture; Yerusaalem keessa taaʼees waggaa soddomii tokko bulche.
Iosiah was eight yeere olde when hee began to reigne, and he reigned in Ierusalem one and thirtie yeere.
2 Inni fuula Waaqayyoo duratti waan qajeelaa ni hojjete; utuu mirgatti yookaan bitaatti hin gorinis karaa abbaa isaa Daawit irra deeme.
And he did vprightly in the sight of ye Lord, and walked in the wayes of Dauid his father, and bowed neither to the right hand nor to the left.
3 Inni mootii taʼee waggaa saddeettaffaatti utuma umurii dargaggummaa keessa jiruu Waaqa abbaa isaa Daawit barbaaduu jalqabe. Waggaa kudha lammaffaatti immoo Yihuudaa fi Yerusaalem keessaa iddoowwan sagadaa kanneen gaarran irraa, siidaawwan Aasheeraa, waaqota tolfamoo fi fakkiiwwan baqfamanii tolfaman ni balleesse.
And in the eight yeere of his reigne (when he was yet a childe) he began to seeke after the God of Dauid his father: and in the twelft yeere he began to purge Iudah, and Ierusalem from the hie places, and the groues, and the carued images, and molten images:
4 Qajeelfama isaatiinis iddoowwan aarsaa Baʼaal diigaman; iddoowwan aarsaa ixaanaa kanneen achi irra turan caccabsee siidaawwan Aasheeraa, waaqota tolfamoo fi fakkiiwwan hurreesse. Wantoota kanneenis daakee bulleessee awwaala warra isaaniif aarsaa dhiʼeessaa turanii irratti bittinneesse.
And they brake downe in his sight the altars of Baalim, and hee caused to cut downe the images that were on hie vpon them: he brake also the groues, and the carued images, and the molten images, and stampt them to pouder, and strowed it vpon the graues of them that had sacrificed vnto them.
5 Lafee lubootaas iddoowwan aarsaa isaanii irratti guggube. Haala kanaanis Yihuudaa fi Yerusaalemin qulqulleesse.
Also he burnt the bones of the Priests vpon their altars, and purged Iudah and Ierusalem.
6 Magaalaawwan Minaasee, kan Efreemii fi Simiʼoon kanneen hamma Niftaalemitti jiranii fi akkasumas diigamaa naannoowwan isaanii keessatti
And in the cities of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and Simeon, euen vnto Naphtali, with their maules they brake all round about.
7 iddoowwan aarsaa fi siidaawwan Aasheeraa ni jijjigse; waaqota tolfamoo daaraa godhe; iddoowwan aarsaa ixaanaa kanneen guutummaa Israaʼel keessa jiran hundas ni caccabse. Ergasiis Yerusaalemitti deebiʼe.
And when he had destroyed the altars and the groues, and had broken and stamped to pouder the images, and had cut downe all the idoles throughout all the land of Israel, hee returned to Ierusalem.
8 Yosiyaas mootii taʼee waggaa kudha saddeettaffaatti erga biyyattii fi mana qulqullummaa qulqulleessee booddee mana Waaqayyo Waaqa isaa haaromsuuf Shaafaan ilma Azaliyaa, Maʼaseyaa bulchaa magaalaa fi Yooʼaa ilma Yooʼaahaaz galmeessaa sana erge.
Then in the eightenth yere of his reigne, when hee had purged the lande and the Temple, he sent Shaphan the sonne of Azaliah, and Maaseiah the gouernour of the citie, and Ioah the sonne of Ioahaz the recorder, to repaire the house of the Lord his God.
9 Isaanis gara Hilqiyaa lubicha ol aanaa dhaqanii maallaqa mana qulqullummaa Waaqaatiif fidame sana itti kennan; maallaqa kanas Lewwota balbala eegantu saboota Minaasee irraa, kan Efreem irraa, hambaawwan Israaʼel hunda irraa, saba Yihuudaa fi kan Beniyaam hunda irraa akkasumas jiraattota Yerusaalem irraa walitti qabe.
And when they came to Hilkiah the hie Priest, they deliuered ye money that was brought into the house of God, which the Leuites that kept the doore, had gathered at the hand of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and of all the residue of Israel, and of all Iudah and Beniamin, and of the inhabitantes of Ierusalem.
10 Isaanis maallaqa sana namoota akka hojii mana qulqullummaa Waaqayyoo toʼataniif muudamanitti imaanaa kennan. Namoonni kunneenis hojjettoota mana qulqullummaa haaromsanii akka duriitti deebisaniif ni kaffalu.
And they put it in the hands of them that should doe the worke and had the ouersight in the house of the Lord: and they gaue it to the workemen that wrought in the house of ye Lord, to repaire and amend the house.
11 Akkasumas akka isaan ijaarsa mootonni Yihuudaa akka diigamu godhan sanaaf dhagaa soofame, laaxaawwan, mukkeen sutaa fi dareeraawwan bitaniif ogeeyyii mukaa fi ijaartotatti maallaqa kennan.
Euen to the workemen and to the builders gaue they it, to bye hewed stone and timber for couples and for beames of the houses, which the Kings of Iudah had destroyed.
12 Namoonni sunis amanamummaadhaan hojicha hojjetan. Lewwota sanyii Meraarii keessaa Yahaatii fi Obaadiyaan akkasumas sanyii Qohaati keessaa Zakkaariyaasii fi Meshulaam akka jara sana hojjechiisaniif isaan irratti muudaman. Lewwonni meeshaa faarfannaa taphachuu beekan hundis
And the men did the worke faithfully, and the ouerseers of them were Iahath and Obadiah the Leuites, of the children of Merari, and Zechariah, and Meshullam, of the children of the Kohathites to set it forward: and of the Leuites all that could skill of instruments of musike.
13 itti gaafatamtoota hojjettoota hojii humnaa taʼanii hojjettoota hojii garaa garaa illee toʼachaa turan. Lewwonni tokko tokkos barreessitoota, qondaaltotaa fi eegdota balbalaa turan.
And they were ouer the bearers of burdens, and them that set forwarde all the workemen in euery worke: and of the Leuites were scribes, and officers and porters.
14 Utuma isaan maallaqa mana qulqullummaa Waaqayyootti galfame sana baasaa jiranuu Hilqiyaa lubichi Kitaaba Seera Waaqayyoo kan karaa Museetiin kenname sana arge.
And when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of the Lord, Hilkiah the Priest found the booke of the Lawe of the Lord giuen by the hand of Moses.
15 Hilqiyaanis Shaafaan barreessaa sanaan, “Ani mana qulqullummaa Waaqayyoo keessatti Kitaaba Seeraa argeen jira” jedhe; kitaabichas Shaafaanitti kenne.
Therefore Hilkiah answered and sayde to Shaphan the chaceler, I haue found the booke of the Law in the house of the Lord: and Hilkiah gaue the booke to Shaphan.
16 Shaafaanis kitaabicha fuudhee mootichatti geessee akkana jedhe; “Qondaaltonni kee waan ajajaman hunda hojjechaa jiru.
And Shaphan caried the booke to the King, and brought the King worde againe, saying, All that is committed to the hand of thy seruants, that do they.
17 Maallaqa mana qulqullummaa Waaqayyoo keessa tures baasanii namoota hojii toʼatanii fi hojjettootatti imaanaa kennaniiru.”
For they haue gathered the money that was found in the house of the Lord, and haue deliuered it into the handes of the ouerseers, and to the handes of the workemen.
18 Kana irrattis Shaafaan barreessaan sun, “Hilqiyaa lubichi kitaaba tokko natti kenneera” jedhee mootichatti hime. Shaafaanis fuula mootichaa duratti kitaaba sana dubbise.
Also Shaphan ye chanceler declared to the King, saying, Hilkiah the Priest hath giuen mee a booke, and Shaphan read it before the King.
19 Mootichis yommuu dubbii Seeraa sana dhagaʼetti uffata isaa tarsaase.
And when the King had heard the wordes of the Lawe, he tare his clothes.
20 Innis ajaja kana Hilqiyaatti, Ahiiqaam ilma Shaafaanitti, Abdoon ilma Miikaatti, Shaafaan barreessichaa fi Asaayaa tajaajilaa mootichaatti ni kenne:
And the King commanded Hilkiah, and Ahikam the sonne of Shaphan, and Abdon the sonne of Micah, and Shaphan the chanceler, and Asaiah the Kings seruant, saying,
21 “Dhaqaatii waaʼee waan kitaaba argame kana keessatti barreeffamee anaaf, hambaawwan Israaʼel keessaatii fi Yihuudaatiif Waaqayyoon gaafadhaa. Sababii warri nuun duraa dubbii Waaqayyoo hin eeginiif dheekkamsi Waaqayyoo guddaan nutti dhangalaʼeera; isaan akka waan kitaaba kana keessatti barreeffame sana hundaatti hin jiraanneetii.”
Goe and enquire of the Lord for me, and for the rest in Israel and Iudah, concerning the wordes of this booke that is founde: for great is the wrath of the Lord that is fallen vpon vs, because our fathers haue not kept the worde of the Lord, to doe after all that is written in this booke.
22 Hilqiyaa fi warri mootichi isa wajjin erge sun gara Huldaanaa raajittii jechuunis niitii Shaluum ilma Toqeʼaati, ilma Hasraat kan eegduu mana uffataa turte sanatti himuu dhaqan. Isheenis Yerusaalem keessa aanaa lammaffaa keessa jiraatti turte.
Then Hilkiah and they that the King had appoynted, went to Huldah the Prophetesse ye wife of Shallum, the sonne of Tokhath, the sonne of Hasrah keeper of the wardrobe (and she dwelt in Ierusalem within the colledge) and they communed hereof with her.
23 Isheenis akkana isaaniin jette; “Waaqayyo Waaqni Israaʼel akkana jedha: Namicha natti isin erge sanatti akkana jedhaa himaa;
And shee answered them, Thus sayth the Lord God of Israel, Tell yee the man that sent you to me,
24 ‘Waaqayyo akkana jedha: Ani iddoo kanaa fi saba isaatti badiisa jechuunis abaarsa kitaaba fuula mootii Yihuudaa duratti dubbifame sana keessatti barreeffame hunda nan fida.
Thus saith the Lord, Beholde, I will bring euill vpon this place, and vpon the inhabitantes thereof, euen all the curses, that are written in the booke which they haue read before the King of Iudah:
25 Sababii isaan na dhiisanii waaqota biraatiif ixaana aarsuudhaan waan harki isaanii tolche hundaan dheekkamsaaf na kakaasaniif dheekkamsi koo iddoo kana irratti ni dhangalaʼa; hin dhaamus.’
Because they haue forsaken me, and burnt incense vnto other gods, to anger mee with al the workes of their hands, therefore shall my wrath fall vpon this place, and shall not be quenched.
26 Mootii Yihuudaa kan akka isin Waaqayyoon gaafattaniif isin erge sanatti akkana jedhaatii himaa; ‘Waaqayyo Waaqni Israaʼel waaʼee dubbii ati dhageesse sanaa akkana jedha:
But to the King of Iudah, who sent you to enquire of the Lord, so shall ye say vnto him, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The words which thou hast heard, shall come to passe.
27 Sababii ati yeroo waan inni waaʼee iddoo kanaatii fi waaʼee saba isaa waan hamaa dubbate dhageessetti garaan kee tuqamee fuula Waaqaa duratti gad of qabdeef, sababii ati fuula koo duratti gad of qabdee, uffata kee tarsaaftee boosseef ani si dhagaʼeera, jedha Waaqayyo.
But because thine heart did melt, and thou didest humble thy selfe before God, when thou heardest his wordes against this place and against the inhabitantes thereof, and humbledst thy selfe before mee and tarest thy clothes, and weptest before mee, I haue also heard it, sayth the Lord.
28 Ani amma abbootii kee biratti walittin si qaba; atis nagumaan awwaalamta. Waan hamaa ani iddoo kanaa fi warra as jiraatanitti fiduuf jiru hunda iji kee hin argu.’” Isaanis deebii ishee fudhatanii gara mootichaatti deebiʼan.
Beholde, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt bee put in thy graue in peace, and thine eyes shall not see all the euill, which I will bring vpon this place, and vpon the inhabitants of the same. Thus they brought ye King word againe.
29 Ergasiis mootichi maanguddoota Yihuudaa fi Yerusaalem hunda walitti ni waame.
Then the King sent and gathered all the Elders of Iudah and Ierusalem.
30 Innis namoota Yihuudaa, jiraattota Yerusaalem, lubootaa fi Lewwota wajjin jechuunis nama xinnaa fi guddaa hunda wajjin gara mana qulqullummaa Waaqayyootti ol baʼe. Dubbii Kitaaba Kakuu kan mana qulqullummaa Waaqayyoo keessatti argame sanaa hundas akka isaan dhagaʼanitti dubbiseef.
And the King went vp into the house of the Lord, and all the men of Iudah, and the inhabitants of Ierusalem, and the Priests and the Leuites, and all the people from the greatest to the smallest, and hee read in their eares all the wordes of the booke of the couenant that was found in the house of the Lord.
31 Mootichis utubaa isaa bira dhaabatee akka Waaqayyoon duukaa buʼu, akka garaa isaa guutuu fi lubbuu isaa guutuudhaan ajaja isaa, dambiiwwan isaatii fi labsiiwwan isaa eegee, dubbiiwwan kakuu kanneen kitaaba kana keessatti barreeffamaniifis akka ajajamu fuula Waaqayyoo duratti kakuu ni haaromse.
And the King stood by his pillar, and made a couenant before the Lord, to walke after the Lord, and to keepe his commandements, and his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart, and with all his soule, and that he would accomplish the wordes of the couenant written in the same booke.
32 Ergasiis akka namni Yerusaalemii fi Beniyaam keessa jiraatu hundi kakuu galu ni godhe; namoonni Yerusaalemis akkuma kakuu Waaqaa jechuunis Waaqa abbootii isaaniitti waan kana ni godhan.
And he caused all that were found in Ierusalem, and Beniamin to stande to it: and the inhabitants of Ierusalem did according to the couenant of God, euen the God of their fathers.
33 Yosiyaasis guutummaa biyya Israaʼel keessaa waaqota jibbisiisoo ni balleesse; akka warri Israaʼel keessa jiran hundinuus Waaqayyo Waaqa isaanii waaqeffatan ni godhe. Isaan hamma inni lubbuun jiraatetti Waaqayyo Waaqa abbootii isaanii duukaa buʼuu irraa duubatti hin deebine.
So Iosiah tooke away al the abominations out of all the countreis that perteined to the children of Israel, and compelled all that were found in Israel, to serue the Lord their God: so all his dayes they turned not backe from the Lord God of their fathers.
