2 Seenaa 16
1 Bara mootummaa Aasaa keessa waggaa soddomii jaʼaffaatti Baʼishaan mootichi Israaʼel biyya Yihuudaatti duulee akka namni tokko iyyuu daangaa biyya Aasaa mooticha Yihuudaa keessaa hin baane yookaan akka achi hin seenne gochuudhaaf jedhee Raamaa jabeessee ijaare.
In the thirty-sixth year of the reign of Asa, Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
2 Aasaanis meetii fi warqee mankuusa mana qulqullummaa Waaqayyootii fi masaraa mootummaa isaa keessaa baasee Ben-Hadaad mooticha Sooriyaa kan Damaasqoo taaʼee bulchaa ture sanaaf ni erge.
Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of Jehovah and of the king's house, and sent to Ben-hadad king of Syria, who dwelt at Damascus, saying,
3 Innis, “Akkuma walii galtee kanaan dura abbaa koo fi abbaa kee gidduu ture sanaatti ammas anaa fi si gidduu walii galteen haa jiraatu. Kunoo ani meetii fi warqee siif ergeera. Akka inni narraa deebiʼuuf dhaqiitii walii galtee Baʼishaan mooticha Israaʼel wajjin qabdu sana diigi” jedheen.
There is a league between me and thee, as between my father and thy father. Behold, I have sent thee silver and gold. Go, break thy league with Baasha king of Israel that he may depart from me.
4 Ben-Hadaadis yaada Aasaa mootichaa fudhatee ajajjuuwwan loltoota isaa magaalaawwan Israaʼelitti duulchise. Isaanis magaalaawwan Iiyoon, Daan, Abeel Maayimii fi magaalaawwan mankuusa Niftaalem hunda rukutan.
And Ben-hadad hearkened to king Asa, and sent the captains of his armies against the cities of Israel. And they smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-maim, and all the store-cities of Naphtali.
5 Baʼishaanis yommuu waan kana dhagaʼetti Raamaa ijaaruu dhiisee hojii ofii isaa dhaabe.
And it came to pass, when Baasha heard of it, that he left off building Ramah, and let his work cease.
6 Aasaan Mootichis namoota Yihuudaa hunda ni fide; isaanis dhagaawwanii fi muka Baʼishaan ittiin hojjechaa ture Raamaadhaa fudhatanii deeman. Aasaanis Gebaa fi Miisphaa ittiin ijaarrate.
Then Asa the king took all Judah, and they carried away the stones of Ramah, and the timber of it, with which Baasha had built. And he built Geba and Mizpah with it.
7 Yeroo sanattis Hanaaniin ilaalaan sun Aasaa mooticha Yihuudaa bira dhufee akkana jedheen; “Waan ati Waaqayyo Waaqa kee dhiiftee mootii Sooriyaa amanatteef loltoonni Sooriyaa si harkaa baʼaniiru.
And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him, Because thou have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on Jehovah thy God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped out of thy hand.
8 Namoonni Itoophiyaa fi Liibiyaa gaariiwwanii fi abbootii fardaa kanneen akka malee baayʼee qaban sun loltoota jajjaboo hin turree? Taʼus waan ati Waaqayyoon abdatteef inni dabarsee harka keetti isaan siif kenne.
Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubim a huge army, with chariots and horsemen exceedingly many? Yet, because thou relied on Jehovah, he delivered them into thy hand.
9 Iji Waaqayyoo warra garaa guutuun isa amanatan jajjabeessuuf guutummaa addunyaa ni ilaalaatii. Sababii ati hojii gowwummaa hojjetteef kana booddee waraanni sirraa hin caamu.”
For the eyes of Jehovah run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward him. In this thou have done foolishly, for from henceforth thou shall have wars.
10 Aasaan sababii kanaaf ilaaltuu sanatti ni aare; akka malee dheekkamees mana hidhaa keessa isa buuse. Yeruma sanatti Aasaan namoota tokko tokko gara jabinaan ni cunqurse.
Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in the prison-house. For he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people at the same time.
11 Wanni bara mootummaa Aasaa keessa jalqabaa hamma dhumaatti hojjetame kitaaba mootota Yihuudaa fi Israaʼel keessatti barreeffameera.
And, behold, the acts of Asa, first and last, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
12 Aasaanis bara mootummaa isaa keessa waggaa soddomii saglaffaatti dhukkuba miillaatiin akka malee ni dhiphate. Taʼus inni dhukkuba akka malee hamaa kana keessatti illee ogeeyyii fayyaa malee gargaarsa Waaqayyoo hin barbaanne.
And in the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was diseased in his feet. His disease was exceedingly great, yet in his disease he did not seek for Jehovah, but to the physicians.
13 Ergasii Aasaan bara mootummaa isaa keessa waggaa afurtamii tokkoffaatti duʼee abbootii ofii isaa wajjin boqote.
And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the forty-first year of his reign.
14 Isaanis awwaala inni Magaalaa Daawit keessatti dhagaa cabsee ofii isaatii qopheeffatetti isa ni awwaalan. Wasaasaa urgooftuuwwanii fi shittoodhaan guutame irra isa ni ciibsan; ulfina isaatiifis ibidda guddaa bobeessan.
And they buried him in his own sepulchers, which he had hewn out for himself in the city of David, and laid him in the bed which was filled with sweet odors and various kinds of spices prepared by the perfumers' art. And they made a very great burning for him.
