1 Yohannis 5
1 Yesuus kun Kiristoos akka taʼe namni amanu hundinuu Waaqa irraa dhalate; namni Abbaa jaallatu hundinuus kan Abbaa irraa dhalates ni jaallata.
WHOSOEVER believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
2 Nu yommuu Waaqa jaallannuu fi yommuu ajaja isaa eegnutti akka ijoollee Waaqaa jaallannu kanaan beekna.
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 Waaqa jaallachuun ajaja isaa eeguu dha. Ajajni isaas hin ulfaatu.
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4 Namni Waaqa irraa dhalatu hundinuu addunyaa ni moʼataatii. Kan addunyaa moʼatus amantii keenya.
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5 Yesuus Ilma Waaqaa taʼuu isaa nama amanu malee eenyutu addunyaa moʼata?
Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
6 Inni bishaanii fi dhiigaan dhufe isa kana; innis Yesuus Kiristoos. Inni bishaanii fi dhiigaan dhufe malee bishaan qofaan hin dhufne. Kanas Hafuuratu dhugaa baʼa; Hafuurri dhugaadhaatii.
This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
7 Dhuga baatota sadiitu jira:
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
8 Isaanis Hafuura, bishaanii fi dhiiga; sadanuus walii galu.
And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
9 Dhuga baʼumsa namaa ni fudhanna; dhuga baʼumsi Waaqaa garuu kana caalaa guddaa dha; dhuga baʼumsi kun isa Waaqni waaʼee Ilma isaa dhugaa baʼe sana.
If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
10 Namni Ilma Waaqaatti amanu kam iyyuu dhuga baʼumsa kana garaa isaa keessaa qaba. Namni Waaqa hin amanne garuu waan isa Waaqni waaʼee Ilma isaa dhugaa baʼe sana hin amaniniif inni Waaqa sobduu godheera.
He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11 Dhuga baʼumsi sunis isa kana: Waaqni jireenya bara baraa nuu kenneera; jireenyi sunis Ilma isaa keessa jira. (aiōnios g166)
And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (aiōnios g166)
12 Namni Ilma sana qabu jireenya qaba; namni Ilma Waaqaa hin qabne immoo jireenya hin qabu.
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 Isin warri maqaa Ilma Waaqaatti amantan jireenya bara baraa qabaachuu keessan akka beektaniif ani waan kana isinii barreessa. (aiōnios g166)
These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. (aiōnios g166)
14 Ija jabinni nu fuula Waaqaa duratti qabnu isa kana: yoo nu akka fedhii isaatti waan hunda isa kadhanne inni nuuf dhagaʼa.
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 Nu yoo akka inni waan nu kadhannu hunda nuuf dhagaʼu beekne, akka waan isa kadhannes argannu ni beekna.
And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
16 Namni kam iyyuu utuu obboleessi isaa cubbuu gara duʼaatti hin geessine hojjetuu yoo arge Waaqa kadhachufii qaba; Waaqnis warra cubbuun isaanii gara duʼaatti isaan hin geessineef jireenya ni kenna. Cubbuun gara duʼaatti nama geessu jira; anis waan akkasiitiif inni haa kadhatu jechuu koo miti.
If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
17 Jalʼinni hundinuu cubbuu dha; cubbuun gara duʼaatti nama hin geessines jira.
All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
18 Namni Waaqa irraa dhalate kam iyyuu akka cubbuu hojjechuutti hin fufne ni beekna; Inni Waaqa irraa dhalate sun isa eega; inni hamaan isa tuquu hin dandaʼu.
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
19 Nu ijoollee Waaqaa akka taane, addunyaan guutuunis toʼannaa isa hamaa sanaa jala akka jiru ni beekna.
And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
20 Akkasumas akka Ilmi Waaqaa dhufee akka isa dhugaa taʼe sanas beeknuuf hubannaa nuu kenne ni beekna. Nus Ilma isaa isa dhugaa sana, jechuunis Yesuus Kiristoositti jirra. Inni Waaqa dhugaa ti; jireenya bara baraatis. (aiōnios g166)
And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
21 Yaa ijoolle, waaqota tolfamoo irraa of eegaa.
Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
