1 Ani bilisa mitii? Ani ergamaa mitii? Ani Gooftaa keenya Yesuusin hin arginee? Isin buʼaa hojii ani Gooftaaf hojjedhee mitii?
Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord?
2 Ani yoon warra kaaniif ergamaa taʼuu baadhe iyyuu isiniif dhugumaan ergamaa dha! Isin Gooftaadhaan chaappaa ergamtummaa koo ti.
If to others I am not an apostle, yet at least I am to you; for you are the seal of my office of apostle in the Lord.
3 Deebiin ani warra na qoraniif kennu kana.
My defense to those who examine me is this.
4 Nu nyaachuu fi dhuguuf mirga hin qabnuu?
Have we no right to eat and to drink?
5 Nu akkuma ergamoota kaanii, akkuma obboloota Gooftaatii fi akkuma Keefaa niitii amantu tokko of faana fudhannee deemuuf mirga hin qabnuu?
Have we no right to take along a wife who is a believer, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?
6 Yookaan anaa fi Barnaabaas qofatu hojii dhiisuuf mirga hin qabnee?
Or have only Barnabas and I no right to not work?
7 Namni baasii ofii isaatiin loltuu taʼee tajaajilu eenyu? Namni iddoo dhaabaa wayinii irra wayinii dhaabee ija isaa hin nyaanne eenyu? Namni bushaayee tiksaa aannan hin dhugne eenyu?
What soldier ever serves at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard, and does not eat of its fruit? Or who feeds a flock, and does not drink from the flock's milk?
8 Kanas ani akka taayitaa namaa qofaanan dubbadhaa? Seerris kanuma dubbata mitii?
Do I say these things according to human authority? Or does not the Law also say the same thing?
9 Seera Musee keessatti, “Qotiyyoo midhaan siribsiisuutti jiru afaan hin hidhin” jedhamee barreeffameeraatii. Egaa Waaqni qotiyyoodhaaf yaaduu isaatii ree?
For it is written in the Law of Moses, "Do not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain." Is it for the oxen that God cares,
10 Inni guutummaatti sababii keenyaaf dubbachuu isaa mitii? Eeyyee, kun sababii keenyaaf barreeffame; sababiin isaa inni qotu qotuun isaa, inni midhaan siribsiisus siribsiisuun isaa akka midhaan sana keessaa qooddatu abdachaa hojjechuu qaba.
or does he say it assuredly for our sake? Yes, it was written for our sake, because he who plows ought to plow in hope, and he who threshes in the hope of having a share.
11 Nu waan hafuuraa isin keessatti facaafnee yoo waan foonii isin irraa haammanne kun ni guddataa?
If we sowed to you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we reap your fleshly things?
12 Erga warri kaan mirga gargaarsaa kana isin irraa qabaattanii, nu immoo kan caalu hin qabaannuu ree? Nu garuu mirga kanatti hin fayyadamne. Nu wangeela Kiristoositti gufuu taʼuu mannaa waanuma hunda obsuu qabna.
If others partake of this right over you, do not we yet more? Nevertheless we did not use this right, but we bear all things, that we may cause no hindrance to the Good News of Christ.
13 Isin akka warri mana qulqullummaa keessa wantoota qulqulluu irra tajaajilan nyaata isaanii mana qulqullummaa irraa argatan, akka warri iddoo aarsaa tajaajilan immoo waan iddoo aarsaa irratti dhiʼeeffamu irraa qooddatan hin beektanii?
Do you not know that those who serve around sacred things eat from the things of the temple, and those who wait on the altar have their portion with the altar?
14 Akkasuma immoo akka warri wangeela lallaban waan ittiin jiraatan wangeela irraa argatan Gooftaan ajajeera.
Even so the Lord ordained that those who proclaim the Good News should live from the Good News.
15 Ani garuu mirga kana keessaa tokkotti illee hin fayyadamne. Kanas isiniif barreessuun koo waan akkasii naa gootu jedhee abdadhee miti. Namni tokko waan ani ittiin of jaju kana na jalaa busheessuu mannaa ani duʼuu naa wayya!
But I have used none of these things, and I do not write these things that it may be done so in my case; for I would rather die, than that anyone should make my boasting void.
16 Ani yoon wangeela lallabe of jajuu hin dandaʼu; lallabuun dirqama kootii. Yoon wangeela lallabuu baadhe anaaf wayyoo!
For if I preach the Good News, I have nothing to boast about, because I am compelled to do this. Woe to me if I do not preach the Good News.
17 Ani yoon fedhii kootiin lallabe badhaasa qaba; yoon fedhii kootiin hin taʼin garuu ani imaanaadhuma natti kenname sana raawwachuu koo ti.
For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward. But if not of my own will, I have a stewardship entrusted to me.
18 Yoos badhaasni koo maali ree? Badhaasni koo, lallaba koo keessatti ani mirga wangeelaan qabutti guutuumaan guutuutti utuu hin fayyadamin kaffaltii malee wangeela lallabuu koo ti.
What then is my reward? That, when I preach the Good News, I may present the Good News without charge, so as not to abuse my authority in the Good News.
19 Ani nama hunda irraa bilisa taʼu iyyuu nama gara caaluuf buʼaa buusuuf jedhee nama hundaaf of garboomse.
For though I was free from all, I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more.
20 Ani Yihuudootaaf buʼaa buusuuf jedhee Yihuudootaaf akka Yihuudii nan taʼe. Yoon ofii kootii seera jala jiraachuu baadhe iyyuu, warra seera jala jiraniif buʼaa buusuuf jedhee akka nama seera jala jiruu nan taʼe.
To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, not being myself under the law, that I might gain those who are under the law;
21 Ani utuun seera Waaqaatiin ala hin taʼin, garuu utuman seera Kiristoos jala jiruu, warra seera hin qabneef buʼaa buusuuf jedhee warra seera hin qabneef akka nama seera hin qabneen taʼe.
to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law.
22 Ani warra dadhaboof buʼaa buusuuf jedhee warra dadhaboo biratti dadhabaan taʼe. Ani karaa dandaʼamu hundaan namoota tokko tokko fayyisuuf jedhee nama hunda biratti waanuma hunda nan taʼe.
To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak. I have become all things to all people, that I may by all means save some.
23 Akkan wangeela keessatti hirmaadhuufis sababii wangeelaatiif jedhee waan kana hunda nan hojjedha.
Now I do all things for the sake of the Good News, that I may be a joint partaker of it.
24 Dorgommii fiigichaa keessatti akka warri fiigan hundinuu dorgoman, garuu akka namni tokko qofti badhaasa argatu hin beektanii? Isinis akkasuma akka badhaasa argattaniif fiigaa!
Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run like that, that you may win.
25 Namni dorgommii keessatti dorgomu hundinuu leenjii cimaa keessa darba. Isaan gonfoo badu argachuuf waan kana godhu; nu garuu gonfoo hin badne argachuuf waan kana goona.
Now everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.
26 Kanaafuu ani akka nama kaayyoo malee fiiguutti hin fiigu; akka nama qilleensa rukutuutti hin lolu.
I therefore run like that, as not uncertainly. I fight like that, as not beating the air,
27 Ani garuu warra kaaniif lallabee akka ofii kootii immoo nama gatame hin taaneef dhagna koo adabee akka inni naa ajajamu nan godha.
but I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be rejected.
