1 Qorontos 6

1 Isin keessaa namni kam iyyuu yoo nama biraa irraa falmii qabaate, dhimma isaa qulqulloota duratti dhiʼeeffachuu irra akkamitti warra Waaqatti hin amanin duratti murtiif dhiʼeeffachuuf ija jabaata?

If any of you has a dispute against another, does he dare go to court before the unrighteous, instead of the saints?

2 Isin akka qulqulloonni addunyaatti muran hin beektanii? Erga kan addunyaatti murtan taatanii waan xixinnootti muruu hin dandeessanii?

Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

3 Isin akka nu ergamoota Waaqaatti murru hin beektanii? Yoos hammam caalaa waan jireenya addunyaa kanaatti haa murru ree?

Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?

4 Egaa yoo falmii dhimma akkasii qabaattan maaliif namoota waldaa Kiristaanaa keessatti tuffataman duratti dhiʼeeffattu ree?

If then, you have to judge things pertaining to this life, do you set them to judge who have no standing in the church?

5 Anis isin qaanessuuf waan kana nan dubbadha. Namni beekaan falmii amantoota gidduu jiruuf murtii kennuu dandaʼu tokko iyyuu hin jiru jechuudhaa?

I say this to move you to shame. Is not there even one wise person among you who would be able to decide between a brother and his brother?

6 Obboleessi tokko obboleessa kaan himachuuf jedhee mana murtii dhaqa; kunis fuula warra hin amannee duratti!

But brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers.

7 Wal himachuun keessan amma iyyuu guutumaatti moʼatamuu keessan argisiisa. Qooda kanaa dabni isinitti hojjetamuu hin wayyuu? Gowwoomfamuu isinii hin wayyuu?

Actually, it is already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits among yourselves. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?

8 Garuu isin mataan keessan iyyuu ni gowwoomsitu; dabas ni hojjettu; kanas obbolootuma keessanitti hojjettu.

No, but you yourselves do wrong, and cheat, and that against your brothers.

9 Isin akka jalʼoonni mootummaa Waaqaa hin dhaalle hin beektanii? Hin gowwoominaa: halaleewwan yookaan warri Waaqa tolfamaa waaqeffatan yookaan ejjitoonni yookaan dhiironni sagaagaltoonni yookaan dhiironni dhiira wajjin sagaagalan,

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor men who have sexual relations with men,

10 yookaan hattoonni yookaan doqnoonni yookaan machooftonni yookaan warri maqaa nama balleessan yookaan saamtonni mootummaa Waaqaa hin dhaalan.

nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor swindlers, will inherit the Kingdom of God.

11 Gariin keessan akkas turtan. Taʼus isin maqaa Gooftaa keenya Yesuus Kiristoosii fi Hafuura Waaqa keenyaatiin dhiqamtaniirtu; qulqullooftaniirtu; qajeeltotas taasifamtaniirtu.

Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus (the) Messiah, and in the Spirit of our God.

12 “Wanti hundinuu naaf eeyyamameera;” kan faayidaa qabu garuu hunda isaa miti; “Wanti hundinuu naaf eeyyamameera;” garuu wanti tokko iyyuu na hin moʼatu.

"All things are lawful for me," but not all things are expedient. "All things are lawful for me," but I will not be brought under the power of anything.

13 “Nyaanni garaadhaaf; garaanis nyaataaf;” Waaqni garuu lachan isaanii iyyuu ni balleessa. Dhagni Gooftaa tajaajiluudhaaf malee halalummaaf miti; Gooftaanis dhagnaaf.

"Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods," but God will bring to nothing both it and them. But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

14 Waaqni humna isaatiin warra duʼan keessaa Gooftaa kaaseera; nus akkasuma ni kaasa.

Now God raised up the Lord, and will also raise us up by his power.

15 Isin akka dhagni keessan kutaa dhagna Kiristoos taʼe hin beektanii? Yoos ani kutaa dhagna Kiristoos fuudhee kutaa dhagna sagaagaltuu godhuu ree? Gonkumaa hin taʼu!

Do you not know that your bodies are members of Messiah? Should I then take the members of Messiah, and make them members of a prostitute? Absolutely not.

16 Isin akka namni sagaagaltuu wajjin wal qunnamtii qabu tokko ishee wajjin dhagna tokko taʼu hin beektanii? “Lamaan isaanii iyyuu foon tokko ni taʼu” jedhameeraatii.

Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute is one body? For he says, "The two will become one flesh."

17 Namni Gooftaa wajjin tokko taʼe garuu Gooftaa wajjin hafuuraan tokko.

But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.

18 Halalummaa irraa baqadhaa. Namni cubbuu biraa hunda dhagna isaatii alatti hojjeta; namni halalummaa hojjetu garuu dhagnuma ofii isaatti cubbuu hojjeta.

Flee sexual immorality. "Every sin that a person does is outside the body," but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

19 Isin akka dhagni keessan mana qulqullummaa Hafuura Qulqulluu isin keessa jiraatu, kan Waaqa irraa argattan sanaa taʼe hin beektanii? Isin kan ofii keessanii miti;

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own,

20 isin gatiin bitamtan; kanaafuu dhagna keessaniin Waaqaaf ulfina kennaa.

for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.
