1 Yaa obboloota, ani akka namoota foonii warra Kiristoositti daaʼimman taataniitti malee akka namoota Hafuuraatti isinitti dubbachuu hin dandeenye.

And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

2 Waan isin nyaata jabaa nyaachuu hin gaʼiniif ani aannan isiniif kenne malee nyaata cimaa isinii hin kennine. Dhugumaan isin amma iyyuu nyaachuu hin dandeenye.

I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

3 Isin amma iyyuu nama foonii ti. Sababii hinaaffaa fi wal qoccoluun isin gidduu jiruuf isin nama foonii mitii? Akkuma namoota kaaniitti jiraattu mitii?

For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

4 Namni tokko, “Ani kan Phaawulos” jedhee, inni kaan immoo, “Ani kan Apholoos” yoo jedhe isin namuma qofa mitii ree?

For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?

5 Egaa Apholoos eenyu? Phaawulosis eenyu? Isaan warra akkuma hojii Gooftaan tokkoo tokkoo isaaniitiif kenneetti tajaajilanii dha; isin immoo karaa isaaniitiin amantan.

Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?

6 Ani nan dhaabe; Apholoos bishaan obaase; Waaqni garuu ni guddise.

I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

7 Kanaafuu Waaqa isa guddisu sana malee namichi dhaabu yookaan inni bishaan obaasu sun homaa miti.

So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

8 Inni dhaabus, inni bishaan obaasus tokkuma; tokkoon tokkoon isaaniis akkuma dadhabbii isaaniitti gatii ni argatu.

Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

9 Nu warra Waaqa wajjin hojjennuu dha; isin lafa qotiisaa Waaqaa ti; ijaarsa Waaqaatis.

For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.

10 Anis ayyaana Waaqni naa kenneen akkuma ogeessa ijaarsaa tokkootti hundee buuseera; namni kaan immoo isa irratti ijaaraa jira. Garuu tokkoon tokkoon namaa akkamitti akka ijaaru of eeggachuu qaba.

According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

11 Namni tokko iyyuu hundee duraan buufame sana malee kan biraa buusuu hin dandaʼuutii; hundeen sunis Yesuus Kiristoos.

For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

12 Namni kam iyyuu yoo hundee sana irratti warqeen, meetiin, dhagaa gatii guddaatiin, mukaan, citaan yookaan hoffaan ijaare,

Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

13 guyyaan sun waan ifatti isa baasuuf hojiin isaa maal akka taʼe ni beekama. Innis ibiddaan ifatti baafama; ibiddi sunis qulqullina hojii nama hundaa ni qora.

Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.

14 Yoo wanni inni ijaare utuu hin gubatin hafeef inni gatii isaa ni argata.

If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

15 Namni hojiin isaa jalaa gubate kam iyyuu gatii isaa ni dhaba; inni mataan isaa garuu ni oolfama; taʼus akka nama ibidda keessa darbeetti oolfama.

If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

16 Isin akka mana qulqullummaa Waaqaa taatanii fi akka Hafuurri Waaqaa isin keessa jiraatu hin beektanii?

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

17 Eenyu iyyuu yoo mana qulqullummaa Waaqaa balleesse, Waaqni isa ni balleessa; manni qulqullummaa Waaqaa qulqulluudhaatii; manni qulqullummaa sunis isin.

If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.

18 Eenyu iyyuu of hin gowwoomsin. Isin keessaa namni tokko yoo addunyaa kana irratti ogeessa of seʼe, inni akka ogeessa taʼuuf gowwaa haa taʼu. (aiōn g165)

Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. (aiōn g165)

19 Ogummaan addunyaa kanaa fuula Waaqaa duratti gowwummaadhaatii. Kunis isa, “Inni ogeeyyii haxxummaa isaaniitiin qaba” jedhamee barreeffamee dha.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

20 Akkasumas, “Gooftaan akka yaadni ogeeyyii faayidaa hin qabne ni beeka” jedhameera.

And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

21 Kanaafuu eenyu iyyuu namaan hin booniin! Wanni hundinuu keessaniitii;

Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;

22 Phaawulosis taʼu Apholoos yookaan Keefaan yookaan addunyaan yookaan jireenyi yookaan duuti yookaan wanti amma jirus taʼu wanti dhufu hundinuu keessan;

Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours;

23 isin kan Kiristoos; Kiristoos immoo kan Waaqaa ti.

And ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.
