1 Qorontos 11
1 Akkuma ani Kiristoosin fakkaadhu, isinis na fakkaadhaa.
Be ye imitators of me, as I am of the Messiah.
2 Ani sababii isin waan hundaan na yaadattanii fi waan duudhaa ani dabarsee isinitti kennes jabeessitanii qabattaniif isinin galateeffadha.
Moreover I commend you, my Brethren, that in all things ye are mindful of me, and that ye hold fast the precepts as I delivered them to you.
3 Ani akka mataan dhiira hundumaa Kiristoos taʼe, akka mataan dubartii dhiira taʼe, akka mataan Kiristoos immoo Waaqa taʼe akka beektan nan barbaada.
And I would have you know, that the head of every man is the Messiah, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of the Messiah is God.
4 Dhiirri mataa isaa haguuggatee kadhatu yookaan raajii dubbatu hundinuu mataa ofii isaa salphisa.
Every man, who prayeth or prophesieth with his head covered, dishonoreth his head.
5 Dubartiin utuu mataa ishee hin haguuggatin kadhattu yookaan raajii dubbattu kam iyyuu mataa ofii ishee salphifti; kun akka waan mataan ishee haaddameetti hedamaatii.
And every woman, who prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered, dishonoreth her head; for she is on a level with her whose head is shaven.
6 Dubartiin tokko yoo mataa ishee haguuggachuu baatte rifeensa mataa ishee murachuu qabdi; dubartiin rifeensa mataa ishee murachuun yookaan haaddachuun yoo qaanii itti taʼe immoo mataa ishee haguuggachuu qabdi.
For if a woman be not covered, let her also be shorn; but if it be shameful for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.
7 Dhiirri fakkaattii fi ulfina Waaqaa waan taʼeef mataa isaa haguuggachuu hin qabu; dubartiin garuu ulfina dhiiraa ti.
The man, indeed, ought not to cover his head, because he is the likeness and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
8 Dubartiitu dhiira irraa argame malee dhiirri dubartii irraa hin argamneetii;
For the man was not from the woman, but the woman from the man.
9 dubartiitu dhiiraaf uumame malee dhiirri dubartiif hin uumamne.
Neither was the man created for the woman's sake, but the woman for the man's sake.
10 Kanaafuu dubartiin sababii ergamoota Waaqaatiif mallattoo taayitaa mataa ishee irraa qabaachuu qabdi.
For this cause ought the woman to have on her head the mark of authority, because of the angels.
11 Taʼus Gooftaa biratti dubartiin dhiira malee yookaan dhiirri dubartii malee hin taʼu.
Nevertheless, the man is not without the woman, nor the woman without the man, in our Lord.
12 Akkuma dubartiin dhiira irraa argamte akkasuma immoo dhiirri dubartii irraa dhalataatii; wanni hundi garuu Waaqa biraa argama.
For as the woman was from the man, so the man is by the woman; and every thing is from God.
13 Mee isinuu murteessaa; dubartiin utuu mataa ishee hin haguuggatin Waaqa kadhachuun sirriidhaa?
Judge for yourselves, among yourselves; is it becoming, that a woman pray to God with her head uncovered?
14 Akka dhiirri rifeensa mataa dheereffachuun isaaf salphina taʼe uumamni iyyuu isin hin barsiisuu?
Doth not nature teach you, that in a man, if his hair groweth long, it is a reproach to him?
15 Dubartiin garuu yoo rifeensa dheeraa qabaatte, inni isheef ulfina mitii? Rifeensi dheeraan akka haguuggiitti isheef kennameeraatii.
But for a woman, if her hair is abundant, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given to her for a covering.
16 Garuu yoo abbaan fedhe iyyuu waaʼee kanaa mormuu barbaade, nu yookaan waldaaleen kiristaanaa Waaqaa duudhaa akkasii hin qabnu.
But if any one is contentious about these things, we on our part have no such custom, nor hath the church of God.
17 Walitti qabamuun keessan waan waa balleessu malee waa tolchu hin taʼiniif ani ajaja kana keessatti isin hin jaju.
This which I now enjoin, is not as praising you; for ye have not made progress, but have deteriorated.
18 Waan hunda dura, yommuu isin akka waldaatti walitti qabamtanitti akka gargar baʼuun gidduu keessan jiru nan dhagaʼa; kanas karaa tokkoon ani nan amana.
Because, first; when ye assemble in the church, there are, I hear, divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
19 Warra isin keessaa Waaqa biratti fudhatama qaban ifatti baasuuf, garaa garummaan isin gidduu jiraachuu qaba.
For there are to be contentions among you, that the approved among you may be known.
20 Yommuu walitti qabamtanitti wanti isin nyaattan Irbaata Gooftaa miti;
When therefore ye come together, ye eat and drink, not as is becoming on the day of our Lord.
21 yeroo nyaataatti namni hundinuu irbaata ofii isaa nyaata. Inni tokko ni beelaʼa; kaan immoo ni machaaʼa.
But, one and another proceedeth to eat his own supper; and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
22 Isin mana itti nyaattanii fi itti dhugdan hin qabdan moo? Yookaan waldaa Kiristaanaa Waaqaa tuffattanii warra homaa hin qabne qaanessitu? Ani maalan isiniin jedha? Isin jajuu ree? Ani kanaan isin hin jaju!
What! have ye no houses in which ye can eat and drink? Or, despise ye the church of God, and shame them who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you? In this I praise you not.
23 Ani waanan dabarsee isinitti kenne kana Gooftaa irraa fudhadheeraatii; Gooftaa Yesuus halkan dabarfamee kenname sana buddeena fuudhee,
For I have received from our Lord, that which I imparted to you; that our Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread,
24 galata galche; buddeena sanas caccabsee, “Kun foon koo kan isiniif taʼuu dha; kanas yaadannoo kootiif godhadhaa” jedhe.
and blessed, and brake it, and said: " Take, eat; this is my body, which is broken for your sakes: thus do ye, in remembrance of me."
25 Akkasumas irbaata booddee xoofoo fuudhee, “Xoofoon kun kakuu haaraa dhiiga kootiin taʼuu dha; yeroo isa dhugdan hunda na yaadachuuf godhadhaa” jedhe.
So, after they had supped, he gave also the cup, and said: " This cup is the new testament in my blood: thus do ye, as often as ye drink it, in remembrance of me."
26 Isinis hamma Gooftaan dhufutti yeroo buddeena kana nyaattanii xoofoo kana dhugdan hunda duʼa isaa ni labsitu.
For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye commemorate the death of our Lord, until his advent.
27 Kanaafuu namni haala hin malleen buddeena sana nyaatu yookaan xoofoo Gooftaa dhugu kam iyyuu foonii fi dhiiga Gooftaatti ni gaafatama.
He therefore, who eateth of the bread of the Lord, and drinketh of his cup, and is not worthy of it, is guilty of the blood of the Lord, and of his body.
28 Namni tokko utuu buddeena sana irraa hin nyaatin, utuu xoofoo sana irraas hin dhugin dura of qoruu qaba.
For this reason, a man should examine himself, and then eat of this bread, and drink of this cup:
29 Namni utuu foon Gooftaa addaan baasee hin hubatin nyaatee dhugu, inni ofii isaatti murtii nyaatee dhugaatii.
for, whoever eateth and drinketh of it, while he is unworthy, eateth and drinketh condemnation on himself, by not discerning the body of the Lord.
30 Kanaafis isin keessaa hedduun dadhabaniiru; dhukkubsataniirus; hedduunis boqotaniiru.
For this cause, many among you are diseased and sickly, and many sleep.
31 Utuu of qorree garuu nutti hin muramu ture.
For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
32 Gooftaan yommuu nutti muru garuu akka addunyaa wajjin nutti hin muramneef nu adaba.
But when we are judged by our Lord, we are really chastised, that we may not be condemned with the world.
33 Kanaafuu yaa obboloota ko, isin yommuu nyaachuuf walitti qabamtan wal eegaa.
Wherefore, my Brethren, when ye assemble to eat, wait ye one for another.
34 Akka walitti qabamuun keessan murtii isinitti hin fidneef eenyu iyyuu yoo beelaʼe mana isaatti haa nyaatu! Waan hafe irratti immoo ani yommuun dhufutti qajeelcha nan kenna.
And let him who is hungry, eat at home; that ye may assemble, not for condemnation. And as to other things, I will give you directions when I come.
