1 Israaʼeloonni hundinuu akkuma hidda dhaloota isaaniitti kitaaba mootota Israaʼel keessatti galmeeffaman. Sabni Yihuudaa sababii cubbuu isaatiif boojiʼamee Baabilonitti geeffame.
So all Israel was recorded in the genealogies written in the Book of the Kings of Israel. But Judah was exiled to Babylon because of their unfaithfulness.
2 Warri jalqabatti deebiʼanii lafaa fi magaalaawwan ofii isaanii keessa qubatan Israaʼeloota tokko tokko, luboota, Lewwotaa fi tajaajiltoota mana qulqullummaa ti.
Now the first to resettle their own property in their cities were Israelites, priests, Levites, and temple servants.

These were some of the descendants of Judah, Benjamin, Ephraim, and Manasseh who lived in Jerusalem:
4 Uutaayi ilma Amiihuud, ilma Omrii, ilma Imrii, ilma Baanii ilmaan Faares ilma Yihuudaa.
Uthai son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, a descendant of Perez son of Judah.
5 Shelaanota keessaa: Asaayaa ilma isaa hangaftichaa fi ilmaan isaa.
From the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn and his sons.
6 Zaaraahota keessaa: Yeʼuuʼeel. Saboonni Yihuudaa nama 690 turan.
From the Zerahites: Jeuel and 690 relatives.
7 Beniyaamota keessaa: Saʼaaluu ilma Meshulaam, ilma Hoodayiwaa, ilma Hasenuuʼaa;
From the Benjamites: Sallu son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah;
8 Bineeyaa ilma Yirooham; Eelaa ilma Uzii, ilma Mikrii; Meshulaam ilma Shefaaxiyaa, ilmaa Reʼuuʼeel, ilma Yibniyaa.
Ibneiah son of Jeroham; Elah son of Uzzi, the son of Michri; Meshullam son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;
9 Sabni Beniyaam akka galmee hidda dhaloota isaanii irratti galmeeffametti nama 956 ture. Namoonni kunneen hundi hangafoota maatii isaanii turan.
and 956 of their relatives according to their genealogy. All these men were heads of their families.
10 Luboota keessaa: Yedaaʼiyaa; Yehooyaariib; Yaakiin;
From the priests: Jedaiah, Jehoiarib, and Jachin;
11 Azaariyaa ilma Hilqiyaa, ilma Meshulaam, ilma Zaadoq, ilma Meraayoot, ilma Ahiixuub qondaalticha itti gaafatamaa mana Waaqaa taʼe sanaa.
Azariah son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the chief official of God’s temple;
12 Adaayaa ilma Yerooham, ilma Phaashihuur, ilma Malkiyaa; Maʼasaayi ilma Aadiiʼeel, ilma Yahizeeraa, ilma Meshulaam, ilma Meshileemiit, ilma Imeer.
Adaiah son of Jeroham, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah; Maasai son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;
13 Baayʼinni luboota abbootii maatii turaniis 1,760 ture. Isaan kunneen namoota dandeettii qaban kanneen tajaajila mana Waaqaa keessatti itti gaafatamtoota taʼanii dha.
and 1,760 of their relatives, the heads of their families, able men for the work of the service of the house of God.
14 Lewwota keessaa: Shemaaʼiyaa ilma Hashuubii, ilma Azriiqaamii, ilma Hashabiyaa namicha gosa Meraarii sanaa;
From the Levites: Shemaiah son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, a descendant of Merari;
15 Baqbaqar, Hereesh, Gaalaalii fi Mataaniyaa ilma Miikaa, ilma Zikrii, ilma Asaafi;
Bakbakkar, Heresh, Galal, and Mattaniah son of Mica, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph;
16 Obaadiyaa ilma Shemaaʼiyaa, ilma Gaalaal, ilma Yeduutuun; Berekiyaa ilma Aasaa, ilma Elqaanaa kan gandoota Netoofotaa keessa jiraachaa ture sana.
Obadiah son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun; and Berechiah son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who lived in the villages of the Netophathites.
17 Eegdota balbalaa: Shaluum, Aquub, Talmoon, Ahiimanii fi obboloota isaanii; Shaluum hangafa gosa isaanii ture;
These were the gatekeepers: Shallum, Akkub, Talmon, Ahiman, and their relatives. Shallum was their chief;
18 innis hamma ammaatti Karra Mootii kan gama baʼaa biiftuutti ramadameera. Isaan kunneen eegdota balbala qubata Lewwotaa turan.
he was previously stationed at the King’s Gate on the east side. These were the gatekeepers from the camp of the Levites.
19 Shaluum ilmi Qooraahi ilma Ebiyaasaaf, ilma Qoraahiitii fi maatiin isaa jechuunis gosti Qoraahii kanneen isa wajjin karra eegan sun akkuma abbootiin isaanii dur itti gaafatamtoota balbala mana bultii Waaqayyoo turan sana isaanis itti gaafatamtoota balbala dunkaanaa taʼan.
Shallum son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his relatives from the Korahites were assigned to guard the thresholds of the Tent, just as their fathers had been assigned to guard the entrance to the dwelling of the LORD.
20 Bara durii keessa Fiinehaas ilmi Eleʼaazaar sun dura buʼaa eegdota balbalaa ture; Waaqayyos isa wajjin ture.
In earlier times Phinehas son of Eleazar had been in charge of the gatekeepers, and the LORD was with him.
21 Zakkaariyaas ilmi Mesheleemiyaa immoo eegduu balbala dunkaana wal gaʼii ture.
Zechariah son of Meshelemiah was the gatekeeper at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
22 Namoonni akka balbala eeganiif filataman walumatti 212 turan. Isaanis akkuma hidda dhaloota isaaniitti gandoota isaanii keessatti galmeeffaman. Eegdota balbalaa kanneenis Daawitii fi Saamuʼeel raajichatu hojii isaaniitti isaan ramade.
The number of those chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds was 212. They were registered by genealogy in their villages. David and Samuel the seer had appointed them to their positions of trust.
23 Isaanii fi sanyiiwwan isaanii itti gaafatamtoota eegumsa karra mana Waaqayyoo jechuunis manicha Dunkaana jedhamu sanaa turan.
So they and their descendants were assigned to guard the gates of the house of the LORD—the house called the Tent.
24 Eegdonni balbalaa kunneen qixa afraniin jechuunis karaa baʼa biiftuu, karaa lixa biiftuu, karaa kaabaatii fi kibbaatiin turan.
The gatekeepers were stationed on the four sides: east, west, north, and south.
25 Obboloonni isaaniis yeroo yerootti gandoota isaanii keessaa dhufanii bultii torba torba hojii isaan gargaaraa turan.
Their relatives came from their villages at fixed times to serve with them for seven-day periods.
26 Dura buutota eegdota balbalaa kanneen Lewwota turan afran garuu itti gaafatamummaa kutaalee fi qabeenya mana Waaqaa keessaatu itti kenname.
But the four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, were entrusted with the rooms and the treasuries of the house of God.
27 Isaanis sababii manicha eeguu qabaniif halkan halkan naannoo mana Waaqaa dhaabatanii bulu turan; ganama ganamas manicha banuuf itti gaafatamummaa qabu turan.
They would spend the night stationed around the house of God, because they were responsible for guarding it and opening it every morning.
28 Isaan keessaa namoonni tokko tokko toʼattoota miʼa mana qulqullummaa keessatti fayyaduu turan; isaanis miʼa kana yeroo inni gad baafamuu fi yeroo inni ol galfamu ni lakkaaʼu ture.
Some of them were in charge of the articles used in worship, to count them whenever they were brought in or taken out.
29 Warri kaan immoo akka miʼoota mana qulqullummaa, daakuu isaa, daadhii wayinii isaa, zayitii isaa, ixaana isaatii fi urgooftuuwwan eeganiif ramadaman.
Others were put in charge of the furnishings and other articles of the sanctuary, as well as the fine flour, wine, oil, frankincense, and spices.
30 Luboota keessaa tokko tokko immoo urgooftuuwwan walitti makanii qopheessu ture.
And some of the sons of the priests mixed the spices.
31 Lewwicha Matiitiyaa jedhamu, ilma Shaluum namicha gosa Qooraahi hangaftichatti immoo itti gaafatamummaa buddeena aarsaa tolchuutu kenname.
A Levite named Mattithiah, the firstborn son of Shallum the Korahite, was entrusted with baking the bread.
32 Obboloota isaanii Qohaatota tokko tokkotti immoo itti gaafatamummaa buddeena guyyaa Sanbataa hunda minjaala irra kaaʼamu qopheessuutu kenname.
Some of their Kohathite brothers were responsible for preparing the rows of the showbread every Sabbath.
33 Faarfattoonni abbootii maatiiwwani Lewwotaa turan immoo waan halkanii fi guyyaa itti gaafatamummaa hojii qabaniif kutaa mana qulqullummaa keessaa hin baʼan; hojii biraattis hin waamaman ture.
Those who were musicians, the heads of Levite families, stayed in the temple chambers and were exempt from other duties because they were on duty day and night.
34 Isaan kunneen hundinuu abbootii maatiiwwan Lewwotaa hangafoota gosaa kanneen akkuma hidda dhaloota isaaniitti galmeeffamanii dha; isaanis Yerusaalem keessa jiraatan.
All these were heads of Levite families, chiefs according to their genealogies, and they lived in Jerusalem.
35 Yeʼiiʼeel abbaan Gibeʼoonis Gibeʼoon keessa jiraata ture. Maqaan niitii isaa Maʼakaa dha;
Jeiel the father of Gibeon lived in Gibeon. His wife’s name was Maacah.
36 ilmi isaa hangafni Abdoon jedhama; kanneen isa booddee dhalatan immoo Zuuri, Qiish, Baʼaal, Neer, Naadaab,
Abdon was his firstborn son, then Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab,
37 Gedoor, Ahiiyoo, Zakkaariyaas fi Miiqlooti.
Gedor, Ahio, Zechariah, and Mikloth.
38 Miiqlooti abbaa Shimeʼaam. Isaanis firoota isaanii wajjin Yerusaalem keessa jiraatan.
Mikloth was the father of Shimeam. They too lived alongside their relatives in Jerusalem.
39 Neer abbaa Qiishii ti; Qiish abbaa Saaʼolii ti; Saaʼol immoo abbaa Yoonaataan, Malkii-Shuwaa, Abiinaadaabiitii fi Eshbaʼalii ti.
Ner was the father of Kish, Kish was the father of Saul, and Saul was the father of Jonathan, Malchishua, Abinadab, and Esh-baal.
40 Ilmi Yoonaataan: Meriibaʼaal abbaa Miikaa ti.
The son of Jonathan: Merib-baal, who was the father of Micah.
41 Ilmaan Miikaa: Phiitoon, Meleek, Tahireeʼaa fi Aahaaz.
The sons of Micah: Pithon, Melech, Tahrea, and Ahaz.
42 Aahaaz abbaa Yaʼiraa ti; Yaʼiraan immoo abbaa Aalemeti, Azmaawetiitii fi Zimrii ti; Zimriin immoo abbaa Moozaa ti.
Ahaz was the father of Jarah; Jarah was the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri was the father of Moza.
43 Moozaan abbaa Biineʼaa ti; Refaayaan ilma isaa ti; Eleʼaasaan ilma isaa ti; Aazeelis ilma isaa ti.
Moza was the father of Binea. Rephaiah was his son, Elasah his son, and Azel his son.
44 Aazeel ilmaan jaʼa qaba ture; maqaan isaaniis: Azriiqaam, Bookeruu, Ishmaaʼeel, Sheʼariyaa, Obaadiyaa fi Haanaan. Isaan kunneen ilmaan Aazeelii ti.
And Azel had six sons, and these were their names: Azrikam, Bocheru, Ishmael, Sheariah, Obadiah, and Hanan. These were the sons of Azel.
