1 Isaan kunneen ilmaan Daawit Kebroonitti dhalchee dha: Ilmi isaa hangafni Amnoon kan Ahiinooʼam dubartiin Yizriʼeel deessee dha; inni lammaffaan immoo Daaniʼel kan Abiigayiil dubartiin Qarmeloos deessee dha;

Six sons of [King] David were born in Hebron [city]. His oldest son was Amnon, whose mother Ahinoam was from Jezreel [city]. His next son was Daniel, whose mother was Abigail from Carmel [city].

2 sadaffaan Abesaaloom isa Maʼakaan intalli Talmaay mooticha Geshuur deessee dha; afuraffaan Adooniyaa ilma Hagiit;

His next son was Absalom, whose mother was Maacah, the daughter of Talmai, the king [who ruled] in Geshur [town]. His next son was Adonijah, whose mother was Haggith.

3 shanaffaan Shefaaxiyaa ilma Abiixaal; jaʼaffaan Yitreʼaam kan inni niitii isaa Eglaa irraa dhalchee dha.

The next son was Shephatiah, whose mother was Abital. His youngest son was Ithream, whose mother was Eglah.

4 Isaan jaʼaan kunneen warra yeroo Daawit Kebroonitti waggaa torbaa fi walakkaa mootii turetti isaaf dhalatanii dha. Daawit Yerusaalemitti waggaa soddomii sadii mootii taʼee bulche;

They were all born in Hebron, where David ruled for 7-1/2 years. After that, David ruled in Jerusalem for 33 years.

5 ijoolleen achitti isaaf dhalatanis kanneenii dha: Shimeʼaa, Shobaab, Naataanii fi Solomoon. Ilmaan afran kunneen Batisheebaa intala Amiiʼeel irraa dhalatan.

Many of David’s children were born in Jerusalem. Bathsheba, the daughter of Ammiel, gave birth to four of his sons: Shammua (OR, Shimea), Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon.

6 Akkasumas ilmaan biraa qaba ture; isaanis: Yibehaar, Eliishuuwaa, Eliiphelexi,

Nine [other sons of David were also born there. They were] Ibhar, Elishua (OR, Elishama), Eliphelet,

7 Noogaa, Nefeg, Yaafiiyaa,

Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,

8 Eliishaamaa, Eliyaadaa fi Eliiphelexi; isaanis walumatti ilmaan sagal turan.

Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphelet.

9 Ilmaan saajjatoowwan isaa irraa dhalataniin alatti isaan kunneen ilmaan Daawit turan. Taamaar immoo obboleettii isaanii turte.

In addition to all those sons, David’s slave wives also gave birth to sons. David also had one daughter whose name was Tamar.

10 Ilmi Solomoon Rehooboʼaam; ilmi Rehooboʼaam Abiyaa dha; ilmi Abiyaa Aasaa dha; ilmi Aasaa Yehooshaafaax;

Solomon’s son was [King] Rehoboam. Rehoboam’s son was [King] Abijah. Abijah’s son was [King] Asa. Asa’s son was [King] Jehoshaphat.

11 ilmi Yehooshaafaax Yehooraam; ilmi Yooraam Ahaaziyaa; ilmi Ahaaziyaa Yooʼaash;

Jehoshaphat’s son was [King] Jehoram (OR, Joram). Jehoram’s son was [King] Ahaziah. Ahaziah’s son was [King] Joash.

12 ilmi Yooʼaash Amasiyaa; ilmi Amasiyaa Azaariyaa; ilmi Azaariyaa Yootaam;

Joash’s son was [King] Amaziah. Amaziah’s son was [King] Azariah. Azariah’s son was [King] Jotham.

13 ilmi Yootaam Aahaaz; ilmi Aahaaz Hisqiyaas; ilmi Hisqiyaas Minaasee dha;

Jotham’s son was [King] Ahaz. Ahaz’s son was [King] Hezekiah. Hezekiah’s son was [King] Manasseh.

14 ilmi Minaasee Aamoon; ilmi isaa immoo Yosiyaas.

Manasseh’s son was [King] Amon. Amon’s son was [King] Josiah.

15 Ilmaan Yosiyaas: Inni hangafni Yoohaanaan, lammaffaan Yehooyaaqiim, sadaffaan Zedeqiyaa, afuraffaan immoo Shaluum.

Josiah’s oldest son was Johanan. His other sons were Jehoiakim, Zedekiah, and Shallum.

16 Ilmaan Yehooyaaqiim: Ilma isaa Yehooyaakiinii fi ilma isaa Zedeqiyaa.

Jehoiakim’s sons were Jehoiachin (OR, Jeconiah) and Zedekiah.

17 Ilmaan Yehooyaakiin isa boojiʼame sanaa: Ilma isaa Sheʼaltiiʼeel,

[King] Jehoiachin was captured [and taken to Babylon]. His sons were Shealtiel,

18 Malkiiraam, Phedaayaa, Shenaaxaar, Yeqameyaa, Hooshaamaa fi Nedaabiyaa.

Malkiram, Pedaiah, Shenazzar, Jekamiah, Hoshama, and Nedabiah.

19 Ilmaan Phedaayaa: Zarubaabelii fi Shimeʼii. Ilmaan Zarubaabel: Meshulaamii fi Hanaaniyaa. Obboleettiin isaanii immoo Sheloomiit jedhamti.

Pedaiah’s sons were Zerubbabel and Shimei. [Two of] Zerubbabel’s sons were Meshullam and Hananiah, and their sister was Shelomith.

20 Akkasumas ijoollee gara biraa shanitu ture; isaanis: Hashubaa, Oohel, Berekiyaa, Hasadiyaa fi Yooshab-Heseed.

[Zerubbabel’s] five [other sons were] Hashubah, Ohel, Berekiah, Hasadiah, and Jushab-Hesed.

21 Ilmaan Hanaaniyaa: Phelaatiyaa fi Yeshaayaa; akkasumas ilmaan Refaayaa, ilmaan Arnaan, ilmaan Obaadiyaatii fi ilmaan Shekaaniyaa.

The descendants of Hananiah were Pelatiah and Jeshaiah. Jeshaiah’s son was Rephaiah. Rephaiah’s son was Arnan. Arnan’s son was Obadiah. Obadiah’s son was Shecaniah.

22 Ilmaan Shekaaniyaa: Shemaaʼiyaa fi ilmaan isaa: Haxuush, Yigiʼaal, Baariiyaah, Naʼaariyaa fi Shaafaax; isaan walumatti jaʼa turan.

Shecaniah’s son was Shemaiah. Shemaiah’s five sons were Hattush, Igal, Bariah, Neariah, and Shaphat.

23 Ilmaan Naʼaariyaa: Eliiyooʼeenayi, Hisqiyaasii fi Azriiqaam; isaan walumatti sadii turan.

Neariah’s three sons were Elioenai, Hizkiah, and Azrikam.

24 Ilmaan Eliiyooʼeenayi: Hoodayiwaa, Eliyaashiib, Phelaayaa, Aquub, Yoohaanaan, Delaayaa fi Anaanii; isaan walumatti torba turan.

Elioenai’s seven sons were Hodaviah, Eliashib, Pelaiah, Akkub, Johanan, Delaiah, and Anani.
